Why don't you pm Love Ke70. He has a 1ggte ke70. You may want to talk with him. I agree with the others. Your budget is optimistic, but thats how we all start out. lol. It will be a weapon for sure. The firewall mods are nothing new, and probly should be done to make it enter corners. Thats what all the serious drifters would do, so I say go for it. Especially if you don't want to drive it on the public roads. All I would say is, and I mean you know offence here love ke70. 1gs are not the best and most relable engines out there. You may want to budget for about 2 headgaskets a year if you are going to flog it hard and raise the boost too much. Will the box fit in the tranny tunnel, if its moved that far back, and what will that do to your shifter position? Is it within range of the w57 shifter positions, any one of the 5 of them?

You just need an ae71 one from the old 4ac, it will do for a while. Unless you have a blacktop. Then you will need to push it once a week.

Overheating + Heater Not Working
LittleRedSpirit replied to rjenman's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Squeeze the bottom hose while it heats up with the cap off too. Speeds it up a bit when theres air to expel. If the only temperature gauge you have is the factory one you know its fiction right? Edit: Beerhead reckons turn the heater on while you fill and run the air out of the cooling system. Goo luck. -
Awesome. Suspension travel awaits!! The chrome looks plush. :D

What he said. 4as want a really light vehicle, even stock gzes.

Ke25 20v B/t Ipra Race Car Now With Incar Race Footage Pg 3
LittleRedSpirit replied to toyocharged's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Terrific car. How have you found the 4.77 final drive ratio? I'm considering that ratio for my own car. I really like your heat shield over the exhaust. Must do something similar for mine. Can you get your brother to post his car too? I know brothers are competitive but this takes the cake. :D -
What If We Could Race Our 4age Xe7x
LittleRedSpirit replied to LittleRedSpirit's topic in Automotive Discussion
All valid points. There are a few chassis specific codes of motor racing, look at Aussie racers, Geminis, or HRs, and now VN Commodore classes. Of course people would need a cage, and appropriate safety gear. It is motor racing, so for an event you would need the funds for tyres, fuel, transport of the vehicle, damages, and the initial setup costs of the vehicle. Of course, even if its a cheap sport to get into, there will always be those people who just can't afford to compete. There are actually those kind of people who would like to race karts, but can't afford that either. The idea is that you would not have to be able to afford a 20 thousand car, to take off the road and eventually wreck, just to compete, let alone do well. You would obviously be looking at 10-15k to set up a vehicle properly for motor sport. And at least 500 dollars for a weekends racing, provided you don't write it off. -

Fantastic news about Grandpas fleet of rollas!! I suggest you have a little read through some of the threads in rides and projects. There are some really fun times to be had in the rwd corollas which were the majority of cars sold in 1983. If you are really lucky then pops will have a 1.6 litre 4a powered rwd ae71 for you to swap the fwd one for. Then you are about 1000 dollars away from 4age rwd bliss!!! Well thats what I would do. I totally understand if you are into fwding. Each to their own. Please take the time to have a good long search through the forums on this site and read about 4ages and ae82s and ae86s and ae71s and ke70s. -
There you go, go Toyota!!!

It would only be possible if there were a k gearbox to A series motor bellhousing. I personally don't know of any cars which had this combo, or of any aftermarket bellhousings available.
-
What do ya reckon, maybe 300 at most for a crashed one... Cheaper than buying a 4age. Hit the auctions!!

Most cars can swim, as long as you never become stationary and allow the engine bay to suck in water. Ive a little (lot) of expierience with creek crossings since I come from the far western districts of QLD. It floods once a year out there, gauranteed. Makes for some good improvised rally events/ donut patches/ motorkhanas. We even invented a sport one year which involves a high powered 4 wheeler bike, a 160kg rider and three local kids on the bike to give it traction, 10metres of rope, a flooded claypan and a specially shaped plywood sheet to act as a sled. Now that was fun. Its amazing how fast you can spin in circles when the motorbike is doing donuts on the spot, and you are on the end of a long rope. My point to this story, lets carve that forest up!!!!

That car looks so well cared for, its a shame he didnt get a ke70!! Grandpa really knew how to keep her overrated!! Anyhow, might I agree with the wheels suggestion and suggest some color coding for the black front end. Personally, if I was going to go for the clean look then I'd remove the black rubber strip on the side too. I reckon cars look lighter and cleaner without them, unless you want to keep her 100% dent free of course. -
Well your rover v8 idea is quite unique. What about a European motor. BMW Vanos motors are getting quite cheap and are quite light for the size of em. Or how about a Prado V6?

What If We Could Race Our 4age Xe7x
LittleRedSpirit replied to LittleRedSpirit's topic in Automotive Discussion
In my opinion for parity's sake it would have to be the same motor and the same car for everyone to get some good close racing. -
Id be digging up the floor looking for cash and guns too. Theres enough gangster cars there to film another Al Capone Movie.
-
Would anyone be interested in an organised form of motorsport, exclusively for the xe7x 4age combination. I know I would. Does anyone have any thoughts on this topic? It seems we all have little weapons in the garage, and it would be such a great entry level form of racing as it seems corollas are common as can be. 4ages can be had very cheaply. The class should carry specific equipment rules, for parity and to keep costs right down. With the potential of these cars, you could have meets where you do laps for times one day, then have a drift the next. Let us know what you think. :D
-
That will definately be on the cards. Do you have a car you don't mind thrashing too?
-
Its not a race. We want it together fast so were doing efi, if that makes sense. :D This is the starting point. Might do a really rough skirt slap job on here. Well see what happens... The top secret 3 rib technology. Sweet rubber thank god. Well actually it has 3 flatties. But the spare is missing, so its lighter than your car right there. Its a plush old lady inside.

Hours maybe. I just hope we don't blow the engine. Or well need to find another one for $150. :)

Well well. Here she is. Its my parts car!! Will soon be re-in-CAR-nated. Our goal is to build the cheapest and nastiest AE71 ever. We have almost all the parts we need, excluding a drivers seat, Headers and Zorst. We will probably get it regoed and then just spend the weekends looking for paddocks to bash. :D **EDITED FEATURES** It features: - Bigport - Stainless 4 2 1 headers - JDM RWD Manifold - - AE71 Parts car - conversion gear source NO LONGER BEING REBUILT - Standard ECU and Beerhead loom - Interior full of beige, grandma was a smoker goodness. - Sick stock rims with bling factor silver paint. - Standard AE71 diff and custom suspension. Pics to come soon, once we put it together.

Its A Formula Atlantic Sellout!
LittleRedSpirit replied to LittleRedSpirit's topic in Automotive Discussion
No sexual satisfaction here. Just awesome lightweight pistons. Honestly, if 800 US dollars is too expensive for you, considering the quality of the equipment, then you are tight as a ducks. I imagine the service life is greatly increased if your not revving to 12000RPM. -
1gs are the butt of a few jokes. What about a 1jzge? They go really well atmo, and not too expensive either.
