  1. Doh!
  2. Doh.....
  3. Damn boot lid....
  4. Teddy, I have four and a trailer. Grim: Half cage for a half with. Put a full one in. Qld regs are based on CAMS specs anyway. (I know the guy that wrote them.) It's not hard to get a cage blue plated, I got Datgirls done two days ago, with the cage as you see it. As far as strength goes, cages are very strong anyway, and you'd be hard pressed to break the nose off, observe:
  5. A bar under the dash is not a requirement, just a nice addition. The firewall just in front is a good structural stiffener anyway...
  6. Datgirl's car has one, mine doesn't. I assume you're talking about the bar that goes across under the dash? R
  7. Bar work in Datgirl's car...
  8. Front cross bar allows rear veiw mirror and visors..
  9. Fun welding this together...
  10. Another main hoop pic..
  11. Mmmmm, carbon fibre dash..
  12. Main hoop mount (45mm tube) on platform...
  13. Side intrusion bar allows window to open with door shut.. (good feature, trust me, not all cages allow this..)
  14. The lower bar is also welded to the transmission tunnel...
  15. Another ...
  16. Fair cage in that KE70!! Sorry I can't get a complete photo, it's hard to take photo's of cagesin 2 door cars.....
  17. I clean all mine with the el cheapo steel wool pot scubbers, with the soap impregnated into it, and a bucket of water. Its amazing how good they come up!!
  18. Thanks for the dates Fook, will update calander as soon as I have time to scratch myself...... :D R, P.S: Don't be too concerned with "raceworthiness", it's all first gear stuff. Just bring it out and flog it !
  19. To date, I still think thats the best photo I've seen of that car. God I love that photo!! :D :) :)
  20. Bugger that, I'll just get Fook to come around to take the photo!! :D
  21. Just strolling through the computer tonight, I came across some old photos of the cage in the Dwarf. If anyone one's interested I'll post them. They're not great but they'll give some idea...... R
  22. Well, Fook pretty much covered everything, except the rule book. That's the "CAMS Manual of Motorsport." It's a fairly lenghty tome that is updated yearly. It's about $60 to the great unwashed, but an easier way is to borrow last years one off me, and I always have a last years one, because the barstards make me buy a new one when I renew my Rally License. Not a great deal changes, and anything major, I'll be able to tell you anyway. It tells you everything. And you can't hold a decent argument at an event unless you a) have one, and b) know it. At club level though, it's not imperitive to have one, unless you're building a car to a particular class. Hope this helps. R
  23. Thats good horsies from a 4K! I suspect a little difficult to hold it together? I know a couple of people who used to get that sort of grunt, but they ended up cracking blocks sooner rather than later. I know there is a reinforced block kicking around but I don't know exact details. Sounds like a clubman motor with that much grunt that high up! :D
  24. More than happy to donate the Dwarf to the cause. (You cannever have too many good photos!) Get in early while it's still in one piece though..... :D
  25. If your going carbs, you've gotta go Webers, although I understand manifolds can be hard to trace....
