  1. There is actually such a thing as having the handbrake adjusted up too tight. I keep the rear drums on the Dwarf slackened off somewhat, in order to have handbrake "on tap". This sacrifices pedal somewhat, but means I have handbrake when required. I know Coln in melb had the same problem. Just a thought. (Apologises for going OT :| )
  2. I blush. :| Yes, I still get the giggles over triple loop.....
  3. Car washed, disposable tyres on, IT'S PLAY TIME!!!!!
  4. Couldn't agree with Fook more. Sounds like the advice we originally gave him.... Cheers R

  8. That's one best answered by Duc..... errrr Datgirl.. :D
  9. Two 0.9kg extinguishers are fine, thats what I have mounted in the Dwarf. Just make sure they're bolted in securely (we can do that on the help day... yeah I know.... date). Two decent condition seatbelts are good too, they don't have to be harnesses, just in reasonable nick. Hope this helps.. R
  10. Is that Datgirl, or Duckgirl?? :Þ
  11. Still addicted to penguins. 3605!
  12. I've never seen Fook speechless until after he got out of that Escort. That thing has WAAAYYY to much grunt. :D I'm amazed at what Fook can do with a humble digital camera though.... :D R

  14. Good evening gentlemen (datgirl here) I am pleased to report that chicks do it better - 593.5 on the penguin bashing game! Hmm, think I'd better get my own log-in to this group - Rob's getting a bit annoyed at me logging on all of the time... even more so now I kicked his butt at the penguin bashing game!!! (you also realise that this means i have a witness in my high score) :D datgirl

  16. Bugger, 411m is as close as I can get......
  17. There's an ambulance at every rally, and often a First Intervention Vehicle (FIV) which follows the field. The Ambulance stays at Rally Headquaters until required. All Rally Cars have good first aid kits. Every 10 kms or so is a radio point in contact with Rally HQ and stage start. A lot of the time UHF and CB's are useless because of surrounding hills/mountains. Rally organizers ensure the SOS points are in radio contact. The FIV stays at stage start until called upon. Often there will be more than one FIV due multiple stages in operation. It's quite an effective system. Trust me! :D
  18. Dodgey stem seals will also do it. Not so much a problem with later heads, mainly earlies with the crap o-ring seals, none the less, can happen. What happens is oil leaks past the seals in the head, down the valve and out the exhaust. Had one of my race heads do this. R
  19. For safety reasons, you carry two reflective triangles and an OK / + board in the car. The triangles go out up the road to warn following cars that there's a buggered car ahead, and the OK is to say just that. On the other side of the OK board, there is a black cross on a red background (see previous pics of my car), which means "help". If you see that, it means that someone is hurt, and you stop and give assistance. The car behind then also stops, takes details and goes to the next radio point to get help. :D The system works! :)
  20. Both occupants walked away, car was a right-off, cage didn't budge one millimetre. It had a fairly standard six point in it, and the car rolled heavily twice, landing once on the a-pillar on the drivers side. The pillar moved, the cage didn't. Cheers R
