I agree. I used the redline linkages on my Dellortos. They are packaged as a set, complete with instuctions. I modified mine a little and welded on an accelerator cable linkage. Ignore the feather on the firewall.....Thats a Trophy. :y:

Top work none the less. :y: I saw a bit of news coverage on the night that the race finished. Some very nice setups were on show there. It was like playing spot the rich school. At least you now have 12 months of reseach and development.

I actually meant to mention it to you before i left, but it slipped my mind. I was also in Bendigo the week before, and meant to mention it to Muller too. Anyway, sorry to hear about the incident Joel. Hopefully karma strikes back and a big bus flattens them.

I was actually in Ballarat from Wed to Fri to last week. I was there for work....fitting out the new "Battery World" shop with joinery. Unfortunately that meant i was in town for Cup Day, so there where young piss pots everywhere. Apart from that, it was hassle free. P.S. I highly recommend the "Black Rhino" pub for its strong Bourbons and extremely attractive women behind the bar. :jamie:

Toyota still sell brand new Genuine heater taps. I replaced my leaky one with a genuine item about 4 years ago. They are a bit pricey ($80-$100) but i havent had any drama's, so i guess it was worth what i paid. I'm just the type of person to cut my losses and do it properly the first time, and not root around trying numerous second hand taps in the hope of finding one that will possibly only last another few years anyway.

Have a read of this. CLICK Kickin5K just went through an engineer listed in that thread. I think he was very impressed with the service.

Welcome to Rollaclub. Vic doesnt require any certification if you lower your car to within the VICROADS guidelines. Basically that means, you cannot lower your car more than 1/3 of the original suspension travel. You must have more than 100mm ground clearance to any point within 1m of any axle when the car is fully loaded. Lowering blocks are legal, however they need to be manufactured from Steel, Aluminium or any metal of the equivilent hardness. Wheels....i'm not sure about. Maybe drop into Peter Robinson. He collects a heap of Toyota parts. Peter Robinson Automotive 17 Carinish Road Oakleigh South 95441162 I suggest you have a read of the links provided below. They are the VICROADS modification guidelines. CLICK

Limited Slip Without Changing Housing
kangaroosa replied to kangaroosa's topic in Automotive Discussion
Sorry, but i don't have measurements of it. The plates are pretty thick, and the springs are very tough. The bloke has to use a press to compress the plates and then slide it into the diff. Apparently its a prick of a job and not something that you would attempt in your shed over the weekend. However, if you have mates with metal skills and tools, then its another story. ;) Maybe ask him to email you some details, or even fax it. I am flat out this week, and will be away from home for work next week. If nothing has happened after late next week, i may be able to swing past and get the details on it. Not sure how willing he would be in giving away specific measurements and part numbers though. -

He does it to a heap of different cars. Mainly rally cars though. I have seen Gallants, Corolla's, Gemini's etc with this setup. But by all means, get in touch with him and maybe he would be open to doing a group discount. -

Tayell Automotive Road & Rally Centre 3 Griffith Ave Bentleigh East VIC 3165 (03) 9579 5529 I'm from Melb, so i have no idea who would make them in your state. Give him a call and maybe he could help you. He'll know what your talking about if you call him. He does quite a few of these setups. Sloth on these forums had his 7K motor built there too, if i remember correctly. If you dump the clutch, yes both wheels will spin. Wet or Dry.....Gravel or Road, it doesnt matter. But if your driving normally the plates have enough slip in them to allow you to turn corners without the back skipping like a locked diff causes. Its all to do with how much power you put through the diff and the severity of it. If you dump the clutch, the sudden power works on the plates and puts drive to both wheels. Its much safer than a locked diff, and alot easier on your driveline. Infact just by driving my car, you wouldnt have a clue that the setup is in my diff. -

KE30 or 55.....not sure. Its the bigger diameter drum unit anyway. 4.3:1 Ratio. -
I have the Tayell Automotive product in my Borg Warner Diff. Its basically 2 metal plates and a few springs that exert pressure on the gears in your diff. Its claimed to send power to both wheels, whilst still giving enough slip to drive normally in car parks. Mine was tight as all buggery over 2 years ago, however the spring stiffness drops over time. Then its a simple case of swapping the springs with new ones. $250 for the initial setup, and $100 everytime you need the springs changed. Mine is a few years old and is still works fine to this day. The bloke reckons the springs should last "at least" a full season in a rally car. I'm pretty sure he is happy for you to post your diff to him, and he'll post it back. Well he was happy enough a few years back.

My last little bit of info for the night is: Apparently the 3P was in some Corona's and Toyoaces. Don't ask me in what country, because all i found was a brief spec sheet.

If your willing to travel to Oakleigh, I know a bloke who keeps heaps of Corolla parts in his workshop. You name it, he's got it. Considering this weekend is a long weekend (for some of us) he may be taking a break. So Tommorrow may be your best option. Peter Robinson Automotive 17 Carinish Road, Oakleigh South 9544 1162

I used the weber linkage kit on my dellortos. Its actually listed as a universal kit in the catalogue. No problems with it at all anyway. Hardiman Auto sells the kits for about $170 plus postage from memory. Hardiman Auto

Straight through sports muffler on the rear with a 3" Droop tip. A nice long resonator in the middle somewhere. A long resonator will give a deeper exhaust note. Whereas a shorter resonator in length may be prone to putting out a crazy frog tinny noise. Something in the 450mm range for a resonator works well. With the Cat attached, this system may be a little quiet for you. I recommemend leaving the resonator on though.

My 5K was running 9.5:1. Its in the head shop now getting bumped up to 10:1 (and new valve springs). I heard the bloke say he would shave the head 30thou to bump it up half a ratio.

I have purchased a complete set of Lovells Super Low springs for my '94 Pulsar, and a complete set of KYB Struts from the seller. He's very pleasant, and answers his emails promptly. I have also purchased Lovells Super Lows for the front of my Corolla. For what its worth, I highly recommend (Claude) him. I can't Fault the KYB shocks/struts. They do their job fine, and are pretty firm. I picked up 4 Struts for $410, whereas Pedders quoted $700 for their brand. So the Struts are good value too.

Ebay I bought my Lovells Super Low springs from this bloke. You just tell him what model car you have, and he orders the parts in for you. $105/pair is $45 cheaper than the Lovells Distributor. He is more than willing to post and is very pleasant bloke to deal with. KYB He also is able to do great deals on KYB shock absorber packages. I bought a complete set for my car. Its a fair price, considering Pedders quoted me $700 for their comfort gas range.

This is some info Suerjamie once gave me. ke30 and 55 have same diam coils (big) ke20 and 25 and 70 have same diam coils (small) So that would suggest that KE30's and KE20's have different Diameter coils. So if Laser springs fit in a KE30, they most probably wont fit a KE20.

Or maybe you could try getting it inspected at another VicRoads office. I had mine done at the Dandenong office without any worries. *EDIT* I took the liberty of splitting this into another topic for further discussion.

Mine passed roadworthy and the Vic Roads inspection without being engineered. My 5K is bored out to 1600cc and worked to with in an inch of its life. When i had the engine number changed over at Vic Roads, the inspector didnt even hesitate. Also, the bloke at Shannons insurance who inspected my car said he used to have the exact same combo in his Corolla. His wasnt engineered either. Have a read of Point 11 in the "Legal Modifications" link below. VICROADS
