  1. Good news. :hammer: You can add Strathfield to your list. A mate got his alarm installed there, and the wiring was touching the extractors...........which caused a fire and killed both his wiring loom and the alarm loom.
  2. Lovells lowered springs are $150 / pair.
  3. Another useful way to double check if certain items are interchangable, is to look at catalogues and compare part numbers. Whiteline list the swaybar products for ke10-15 as a different part number to the ke25's. I think its a pretty safe bet that there is some sort of difference between the two. Thats the "theoretical" explanation. However, they may fit in real life. Maybe other ke10-15 or ke25 owners can shed some light on the issue.
  4. When i did my Auto to Manual conversion, the plugs were how you are describing them. I had to chop off the existing plugs (blocky plastic connectors), and just crimp on some male and female wire joiners. There should be two wires coming from your loom within the car. There will also be two wires coming from the gearbox itself. As Jamie said, the wires normally were plugged into the Auto shifter, so they will be in that area.
  5. Bill is going to be running Twin 1.5" SU's (its actually his son Craigs car). Well that was the plan a month or two ago anyway when he had all the bits and pieces setup. When he bought the motor, it had a single carby fitted. i think the previous owner did away with efi.
  6. Red Extractors = HOT!! Why don't I see your Twin SU's in place? I need to see these undercar neons at night. Thats one form of Automotive lighting that I actually like. Top Work though. You really have been busy!
  7. You have been a very busy man. Now hurry up and get the 7K finished and back in its home. I hanging out for you take me around the block in the rocket. :y:
  8. Excellent. I certainly hope you and Craig can make it. Its playing out to be a strong gathering. Anyone got a footy to bring along with them? I found mine flat and perished the other day.
  9. Google should be everyones best friend. :y: wasfishing - If you let me know what year/model corolla you were looking at, then i'll see what info I can dig up for you. Ohhh and Welcome.

  11. Its starting to take shape. At least its not a pile of parts on your garage floor still. :y: Is that a new coat of paint? What motor did you end up putting in it? Its going to look Schmik
  12. I used to make models. Mainly racecars and my pride and joy......a 600mm long yacht from the first fleet. I have never seen a KE55 however. Nor have a seen any old corollas. The closest i think that you will get is maybe a new WRC or ARC Corolla. I've seen a few die cast models of AE86's on ebay.........but theres no fun in die-cast. I more into my Nitro hobbies at the moment. I'm currently building a custom 1/10th off road car with 3 times the horsepower as standard. Then theres my other two cars and the plane that i have hanging from my ceiling. I've got an urge to make a boat next.............I'm addicted.
  13. I've had two moments like yours. The first was in my mates XY. I took off from a set of lights with a VT infront of me. The next thing i see is a Gemini slam into the rear gaurd of the VT (approx 2m from me) Thats was bloody scary....especially the noise. The Gemini drived claimed he had a green light, so he t-boned the VT at approx 60km/h. The second time I was at a red light at a cross intersection. My light turned green and i had just started to roll, when a bloody Sigma came flying through at warp speed. He sped through about 1m from the front of my car. So after i gathered myself, i started to hunt him down but lost him at a set of lights. On that instance, i was ready to do serious damage to that bloke.
  14. Welcome  . Sounds like a fun business to be in. Theres a few VIC members doing up club cars, so a few of them might be dropping you a line to pick your brain. If only i had the room for a second KE30 2 Door.........I would gladly take it off your hands. :o Where do you and your old man race? I'm trying to see more raw motorsport and I have a Nanna in Mooroopna, so maybe i could kill two birds with one stone. I think a Rollaclub sticker would look the part on your race cars too :) . PM me if your interested. don't forget to check out the BBQ topic in the VIC section. We would love to see you there. Hopefully the couple of hours drive doesnt put you off.
  15. It will be quick..........when he drags his butt off the couch and whacks on his new head.
  16. Last time i was at Calder Raceway/Dragstrip, there were fuel bowsers there that were labelled Premium and AVGAS. Not sure if they are still operational though. $1.50L for AVGAS and $1.10 for Premium.............keeping in mind that was about 14 months ago. I know a few blokes who race HQ's. The website states they use Commercial fuel. I have seen the 10L drums that they buy, and they are marked with something like Blended Race Fuel or High Octane. can't remember exactly, but it wasnt just labelled BP Ultimate.
  17. Cool :) I was thinking the other day about what happened to you. Pleased to see that you saw this in time anyway. The Falcon? is most welcome too.
  18. I have a 3 core in my KE30. They simply stretch the tanks to suit the extra width of the 3 core. I payed $240 for mine from the local radiator shop. Never had a problem with it in Melb weather. :)

  20. I don't know about you interstaters, but here in Melb I havent been able to buy BP Ultimate or BP (the one with the orange handle) for weeks. They have the tags on the handles saying the product is unavailable due to shortages. So its BP unleaded for me (92 octane)?? Lucky i only put 20L in today because it pings big time. If I still can't get BP Ultimate in a few days, i will have to change brands OR, hunt around for a servo that has Ultimate. Has Shell released what the expected Sale Price of the fuel is?
  21. Its got speed holes. :( Body Kit :) Wheels :P The only thing its got going for it, is straight panels.
  22. Yep 82mm pistons. I don't rev my engines much at all. Infact it rarely sees 6000rpm. Its used oil from day one, so i doubt its due to high RPM associated issues. This engine builder is going to keep doing it until he gets it right.
  23. No Idea why he used Molly. I have Hypertec pistons.......would it be anything specific to do with that? I assume that molly is not the most preferable choice. For my curiosity, why would the Molly rings be causing me so many dramas? So do you have a preferred brand of rings that you use? I hear Hastings (the ones i have) are good. But maybe i should try the Cast versions of them.
  24. Some of you may know that I have been having some oil consumption issues with my 5K. The motor is due to come out early next year to have a new set of rings fitted. The engine builder told me that on each rebuild (about 4 within 12 months) he used Molly rings manufactured by Hastings. This rebuild we plan to use Chrome rings. I have chrome rings in my old 4K which saw about 4 years of hell and still never used a drop of oil. So i'm interested to see what brand and type of Piston rings you guys and gals have used, and had sucess with.
