  1. Just be aware of the piracy and copyright laws though. Having said that, i've tried heaps of different programs over the years and am currently using "Bearshare". Its part of the Gnutella network. Its ok, there is alot of people with some good files and programs. But, i think it contains spyware and adware because my computer is running like a bag of crap since i installed it.
  2. Gorillaz :lmao: Jet :sigh: You can keep them. They suck, and irritate the hell out of me.
  3. The heat gun is the right idea though. I watched a "how to" movie on the use of a gaurd roller. They heat the paint to soften it, and then roll it (thus not cracking it).
  4. Not sure what brand it is. I bought it second hand with boss kit for $50. I have seen the wheel in Autobarn for $280.
  5. Which bolts are you referring too? Manifold Bolts? Head Bolts? Are you still trying to get the bolts out, or put them back in? Is it just the head of the bolt that is stripped off or the thread? (if its the head of the bolt, i assume your referring to the manifold bolts).
  6. I would imagine that its not something that they would normally check. They would most definately check the rotors and pads though. However, if you did a rough job and it stood out like dogs balls, well then the inspector would almost certainly spot it. As for the Police checking it.......well i have never seen them pull people over to check out their calipers (your calipers will be hidden behind your wheels anyway). Just do a nice clean job. Make sure its not all scratched and jagged. Spray a few coats of Hi-Temp black paint on to disguise your handy work.
  7. I have never been attacked by a rabbit, so i can't really say. But if you put your hand too close to them or move sharply, then they snarl and charge at you a little. The ones i saw were only babies though. They only grow to about 90cm tall, so their not huge beasts that that will pound you. I sure most of them are happy to recieve a good feed, but not when your amongst big groups of noisy people like i was.
  8. Thanks Jamie. On another side note here. When i get my hands on a set of Girlock calipers, is there much to recondition/replace on them if they are worn? OR do i just keep looking for a good condition set. (i have never played around with brakes so i don't know much about the internals). Old corollas are getting VERY rare in my area, so i can't be picky as I don't have alot to choose from.
  9. No worries. and
  10. PM me if your interested in posting them to Melbourne 3172. It might be cheaper for me to just go to wreckers and grab a pair there, depending on price. I assume i wont need to change the rotors and control arms to put the calipers into my KE30.......but i am still interested if you don't wish to seperate the items. (P.S. I hope the offer was for me) :jamie:
  11. Thanks Nick. Now i know what to look for.
  12. Just touching on the different brands again. I noticed the other day that my front Calipers are stamped "Sumitomo". Which of the previously mentioned brands do my calipers fall under? My car is a 1974 KE30 2 Door and they are the calipers that were on it, when i bought it. I'm very interested in upgrading to the Girlock calipers, if my existing ones are not already. Can someone post a pic of the Girlock calipers please? I might try my luck at the wreckers to pick up a pair. Heres a pic of mine anyway.
  13. I pretty sure thats only because they are not displayed in Zoo's or anywhere else apart from South Western Australia. (thats what i'm lead to believe anyway). I was on holidays in WA a few years ago, and made the trip out to Rottnest. Yes they look cute, but if you happen to get too close to angry critter, they can be bloody ferocious.

  18. WOW, when did you guys get power lines installed? :D Just Kidding. Where were the first few photos taken? Those giant concrete structures have got me intrigued. They remind me of something you would see in a shoot em up PC game.
  19. Just touching on the additives side of this topic since the original question has been answered. Has anyone mixed Castor Oil in with their fuel? My old man told me people did this when he was young. There is no performance difference apart from maybe lubricating something. The reason for mixing in the oil was that it kinda makes your exhaust smell like a blend of race fuel. I tried this on my 4K and had few people ask me what fuel i was running..........they call you a few names when you tell them its just unleaded. I didnt notice any side effects apart from $7/Litre. But when you only have to mix in 200ml or so, then its OK for a show off factor now and then.
  20. Yep, it will do that too. It only takes thin portions off at a time though (i suppose the bog is too dense for the paint stripper to penetrate the whole lot). I got a 4L can of paint stripper from an auto paint shop, and it was heaps stronger than the "Motorpro??" brand i bought from K-Mart previosly.
  21. It hurts doesnt it. I paint stripped my car during summer a few years ago. So i was bare foot in shorts and a t-shirt. I used a wire wheel on a drill to get the initial layers of paint off (its also handy for those tricky sections that a scrpaer will not get to. Needless to say the wire wheel threw paint stripper everywhere (mostly on me). I had a bucket of water handy to wash off the bits that were burning real bad. I would suggest using overalls and goggles for this method.
  22. I believe the cam sits higher in the block than your standard 4K. It was a marketing attempt by toyota to compete with other car companies that advertised their cars as having overhead cam. I believe there is no performance difference, but rather a marketing ploy.
  23. Why did i just get an image of Teddy finding out freight costs?
  24. Yes you need to have the number plate illumination lights. Whats the reason for doing away with the bumpers? All early Corolla's look really silly without bumpers. The metalwork behind the bumper is a bit messy. Its got spot welds and two holes where the bumber brackets bolt up. If you plan to remove the front bumper, you will obviously need to make brackets to mount the indicators.
  25. I work with Anodised and Mill finished Aluminium at work and i wouldnt say that it Anodised is very durable. It scratches so bloody easily. |blink| and doesn't look that good on large surface areas. If you were referring to having parts colour dyed during the anodising process, then that becomes more expensive. But to answer your question, yes it is possible to have anodised panels (if your panels were made from aluminum that is  ) You can't anodise steel as the process involved attacks the steel and causes rust.
