Nice try for a first attemp. You could always finish it off like Jamie did to his Air filter. Air Filter

Firstly what model Corolla is it? If its an earlier Corolla, you don't need to remove the whole caliper. Simply remove the cover plate on the caliper. Remove the bent/shaped wire that holds the locating pins in place. Remove the Pins/Rods. The Pads should now simply slide out. Now the pistons need to be forced back into the caliper, to allow for the extra width of new pads. (there is a tool that you can purchase to do this) OR like most people, just use a clamp to push the pistons back into the caliper. Alternatively you could use a screwdriver or bar and lever the piston back in. Then slide the new Pads back in. Push the Rods back into place. Secure them with the bent wire. Clip on the cover plate and you should be done. *EDIT* What he said too^^^^

A quick read of the FAQ would have told you. Carburettors
-
I'd just like to add that my car doesn't scrape on anything (not even on speed humps). It seems my car copped some flack about being too low and gay. I never do things in halves. :D Ruts - The photchops look HOT. :D My head almost touches the roof as it is. So i'm not sure the chopped roof would be all that comfortable in real life.

I have 81mm Hypertec Pistons in my 5K. They were packaged for a Gemini (they required machining though). They might be a cheaper option than genuine pistons........ if you need new pistons. If you havent found someone to do your headwork: Call "Eddie Woods" THE HEAD STUD DEVELOPMENT COMPANY 31 Capella Crs Moorabbin 3189 (03) 9553 2517 He knows his stuff when it comes to corolla heads and engines. I just emailed you a copy of Dyno2000.

I was the person who posted that chopped eb falcon springs fit in a ke30. Yes, it is dodgy i know (i have super low lovells springs sitting next to me - just to lazy to put them in). I have never had any drama's YET with my chopped springs and i plan to install my new springs soon to get it roadworthy again. So i don't suggest that you should chop your springs. As for wheel alignment.....I had one done after i chopped the springs 6 years ago, and the tyre shop didnt have any drama's with the alignment. My front end RARELY bottoms out. Infact the only time is does bottom out, is if i hit a huge pot hole. So, normal everyday driving is fine. Which is what i use my car for anyway. Its stiff as all buggery because the EB spring coils are 16mm diameter, compared to my lovells which are about 12mm-13mm in diameter. The rear leaves have been reset and had an extra leaf put in. Mmmm Stiff (my mates hate sitting in the back sit. Apparently it feels like getting kidney punched). :P But i like it stiff. I hate new cars with hovercraft suspension. :y: Conclusion - Get Lowered springs and keep your car roadworthy. Especially for insurance reasons too. P.S. I got pulled over once 5.5 years ago and the copper told me it was borderline, and that i might want to fix it. 5.5 years later its still the same and the police have never touched me.

It would want to be fuel efficient. Imagine running out on the freeway, and having to fill up. :n:

A bloke i work with drives a Dedicated straight gas BA XLS Ford Ute. Its got as much get up and go as my old mans 6cyl XF Ute. :n: He had an AU Dual fuel Ford Ute previous to his BA, and the AU on either gas or petrol would eat the BA alive. The Straight gas BA is listed as having the same HP and 103nm more torque too. Pfft. "Disclaimer" This may not be representative of other cars though.

A few blokes on Ford Forums have discussed this topic in the past. For V8's, they paid $1800 to $2400. The more expensive prices were generally for newer fuel injected motors. I would hazard a guess that a new system for a corolla would be on the lower end of that price scale. Some things that may affect price: Smaller Tank? Smaller Converter? These straight gas conversions run a special type of carburettor too, don't they?

Red and White is my pick. (its also the colour of those bloody swans :P ......thats AFL for the QLD'ers)

If you can supply a good side on photo, then i can photoshop it for you.

Are you able to give an analysis of the power difference between your straight gas K motor, compared to one running on petrol. Straight gas does not seem like a stupid idea anymore, with petrol prices as they are. I have had mates with v8's that went straight gas, and said the car lost a heap of power. The gas setup never had the get up and go when you kick it down with an Auto Transmission.(the systems were professionally installed and were a Gas Research product).

Nope. Never knew there was a new one. The one in Keysborough/Dandenong, near Cheltenam RD has gone to make way for the new freeway (or Tollway) that is being built now. So this new track......is that just run by the same owners mentioned above? The trouble with having it in the South Eastern suburbs, is that we have a few members out in the Western suburbs. Its not fair to ask them to travel all the way out here. I thought Port Melbourne was a relatively central position, so its easier/fairer for all members. Thanks for the input anyway. Are you interested in joining us? We still need at least 4 more people to make up numbers Colin - I never went to that track, but my mates always waited till it rained and then they went go-karting there. You couldnt get the smile off their faces for days :P Apparently someone was killed there years ago, when the throttle jammed and they drove through/under a cyclone fence, after plowing through bundle of tyres.
