  1. Sounds like a road trip to me. They look like some nice tyres, even though they seem a little low on tread.
  2. My 3K big port head cost me $800 to have done. Fortunately it was in Excellent condition. The water jackets were near perfect. I paid to have the work done to mine which included all the necessary machining including rocker surfaces, Dual Valve Springs, Larger Valves, Race Port and flow bench tests before and after. That seems to be the going price in my area.
  3. LOL......trust you. ;)
  4. Is this where you are getting the 7K hotted up? I didnt think he had the machinery to do engine reco's. So he has still got the Corolla.....he was trying to sell that 2 years ago. He's still a top bloke to deal with regardless. :harhar:
  5. I know him. He made my "phantom grip" style LSD for my Corolla. He's a very nice and helpful bloke. He actually had a Rally prepped KE35 for sale last time I was there. It had maily Celica running gear from memory. I highly recommend having a chat to him, to at least find out if he can help with the 7K project. 6. Make sure you use Resistors if you choose to go down that path. I did the same thing, but used 2 blue led's per globe holder. Each LED will need its own resistor.
  7. Ahhh DAMMIT!!! I knew i should have said "Home and Away" here i come.
  8. I was waiting for a comment from you John. ;) I'm actually enjoying some of my payment now. Mmmm Jim Beam. Let me know if you see a Billboard with this add. I need photo's to go in my resume. "Neighbours" here I come :harhar:
  9. When i was asked to help out, i was actually cutting a heap of aluminium and my hands were filthy. I had to spend 5mins scrubbing all the crap off my hands before the shoot. I did have a few scrapes and scares on my hand, but fortunately you can't see them in the pic. Airbrush maybe?
  10. Heres a nice set of 205/60/R13 tyres. Ex Aussie Legends tyres
  11. He paid over $500 originally for it. I would have expected it to be complete, and ported for that amount of money.
  12. Its just a standard 700ml White Label. I just noticed yours is 40% ALC/VOL whereas mine is 37%. Wheres my 3% DAMMIT! :harhar:
  13. I'm also considering a 1/8th Corolla on ebay. The link is not working. Just search "1/8 corolla"......it should be a green r/c car. I already have 2 x 1/10th scale nitro on road cars and 1 x Nitro plane. I've suddenly got the urge to buy a buggy/off road car.
  14. I've got one of these.Click It doesn't play music. But its got a horn, indicators, headlights, alarm and 3 speed g/box. I actually bought it for my old man for Fathers day..........but it lives with me now.
  15. Just White. Not a fan of Seinfeld at all, so i havent seen it.
  16. Thanks. Whilst i appreciate how clean the car is, i guess the occupants didnt appreciate their own health and welfare. That person was lucky not to be crushed in the 6th pic. Apparently they were wearing racing harness's, but they were not adjusted properly. :harhar: This was one of the quotes on that site. Is he referring to Jamies friend in the KE30 2 door.
  17. Nope, but i would love too.
  18. The photographer said he will let me know next time he wants a hand job again. We have actaully done a lot of shopfitting work for them, so their top blokes. Theres that, and the fact that we get a sneak peak of all the new "Top Secret" cars.
  19. The company across the road from where i work is a photography studio. I was approached a few weeks back to help them out with a photo shoot for worksafe week,as the photographers all had double jointed fingers that didnt photograph well. So heres my hand thats featured in the Herald Sun and other major newspapers down here in Melb. I'm still waiting to see if my hand makes it onto billboards. The same company has got the Holden/GMC contract to photograph all the latest Holdens before they hit the showrooms. They also photographs heaps of Ferrari's, Lambo's, Lotus's etc. Jamie will be happy to know that i did it all for a bottle of Jim Beam. :harhar:
  20. Agreed :harhar: . My 5K cost me $1250 for the completed motor alone. That was a solid lifter conversion too. So your estimate will be in the ball park if you do the assembly yourself.
  21. Yep, your right. I searched for the vid before and realised my error. Lil Sis was a worry too. Heres the link fow ya'll. :D Watch when he almost crashes. Click
  22. Its looks like a try hard jet turbine. It reminds me of that whistling thing that the yanks put in their exhausts. You might remember the movie clip bub rub. Whoooop whooop.
  23. Mine are 81mm Hypertec Pistons (they are actually for a Gemini and were originally flat tops..........but have been machined down and have been dished to lower the compression to 9.5:1) I have heard of people having 82mm and 83mm Pistons in their 5K's. I would assume that would be about as far as you would want to go. It would suck not having enough thickness in the bore to machine/reco the motor at a later date.
  24. Its not my cup of tea. Here are some more links to pics of the car, including interior shots. Click Click Click Click Click Click Click Click Click
  25. One thing i have learnt about gauges, is that you get what you pay for. I have bought cheap stuff in the past and they never had accurate readings. I have since bought all Speco gauges. The styling of the gauges in question doesnt do much for me, and the markers/indicators look a bit sparse and too hard to read quickly at a glance. I'm a fan of brands that use the full face of the gauge to display the readings. Is Autogauge a reputable brand? I have never heard of them.
