They do actually cut into the sidewall, it hasn't bothered me as their quite thick and stiff making them sit well. What wheels are you planning to run on your VK? my brother used to drive one their such a poo mobile :P
  2. This comment has got me thinking. Ive driven both two beautiful RA28's, and and very nice KE20, and i think this comment is total bullshit, i did get a huge amount of positive attention with my celicas but with my KE20's i have gotten even more, back when i used to work at a service station i had minimum 5 or 6 people a day have a positive comment about my car and some regulars came in all the time and talked about if for 10 odd minutes while i served other customers. No offense to the witzl but he can't really make the comment when he was comparing hes RA28 which as he put is far from presentable, not a good example at all really. So my question to you, does your corolla attract positive (not negative) attention where ever you go? I know mine does.

Ive always run atlas flappers, never had any problems, durable and fit well. Although I'm not sure what the 3" version would be like, ive only ran 2". The 3" is only available in 15"+ for atlas. Whats your daily? not your ke20 right?

haha no i just used it as a mock up on a previous set of super lites i had. At the moment I'm running a set of flappers (port-a-walls) that i have stripped back and painted with vinyl spray to create a smaller line. Their a little more durable than painted on ones and they can be redone at any time.

Not really, I'm going for whatever i like the look of, a mix of styles i suppose  But i want the wheels all SHINY!

Ive had a look at the tech article, i lack the tools and knowledge to have a go myself, is there anyone in Adelaide that can do this? Any members that could give me a hand one weekend? For cash of course! Either way once i get the flares ill play around with tape and spacers and see what it looks like. If i don't like them ill just sell them and get the guards pulled. The tread inside the guards doesn't really make sense to me, the only way for the tread to be inside and the wheel outside is to run stretch, and running stretch is illegal anyway so either way your stuffed. I just don't have to have a police officer roll up behind me and go hey look those wheels are outside the guards? DEFECT. Also as far as the red wheels were classier its because of a couple things: They had 'whitewalls' (tape) They had my pointy center caps of death, i have the performance ones but their ugly as shit. and their lip was polished more. Which makes my think should i sand off the clear coat on the lip and polish these bad boys more? The finish will come up better but what will the durability be like?

I sold the last set because it was an effort to convert the bolt patterns and i didnt really want to run spaces. After looking around for a few weeks it was becoming clear i wasn't going to be able to come across a set very easily in the size and offset i wanted. So while i was at my tyre place (my brother needed new skidders) i inquired about a price and my guy was able to do my a stupidly good deal, not much more than what i sold my old set for. That and I'm impulsive  They stick out a little too much for me, there worse at the front it just doesn't look it because of the height. The rears are actually pretty close, although thats on bumpstops due to the huge change in rolling diameter. Also considering how low this is going to be and all the other illegal stuff on there I'm trying to not make it the biggest cop magnet in SA.

eh? Pics? Ohh by the way if anyone notices i hacked the 25 grille apart. I couldn't stand that ugly 'flower' badge. Heres a few iPhone pics:

Umm i can't really say what they'll be like for grip as i don't have any power nor the suspension to test them out. Fronts are new and the rears are second hand (60% tread), some cheap korean tyres on front and some hancooks on rear. There quite hard to get in that size, i wanted 175/50/13 but there not even made anymore, you can get 175/60 but I'm note what sort of quality is available.

While i was at my wheels and tyre place last week i had an offer i couldn't refuse, got an amazing deal with some super lites. Tyres cost sweet f@$k all as well. Stupid thing is that their identical to the super lites i just sold but at least their brand new and a 4x110 stud pattern. In the pics the wheels do not have any spacers on them and when I'm running flares ill space them out the fill the flair nicely (i know this is illegal no need to remind me). Also if you notice i now have a KE25 Grille! Yay spend alot of time restoring that one, it looked like ass when i first brought it but now looks a million bucks, spend a while taping to get the silver/black finish. Anyway the Super lites are 13x7 -7 offset, and their wrapped in 175/60/13, which wasn't overly easy to buy but they fit real nice. Small amount of stretch, they alomst could tuck inside the rear guard, but i would rather run flares and space. With the 175/70's they had no chance, its strange these still inside the guard much better even though only the profile has been changed? Needed for the rims to fit and be finished: White walls! (They look like skateboard wheels at the moment, which is also awsome) Flares (coming soon TE27 replicas) Fit my center caps Spaces Then stiffen up suspension. (and drop front end about 1") Troy
  11. Interesting? Almost look like glass in the photo lol.
  12. I've used seats from a Paseo, nice seats very very firm though, fit in the 20 good though! Also can be had at a wreckers for under $100
  13. How about instead of showing a car thats possibly 40 years older than a corolla with huge 4" flappers show some corollas with 2" flappers as a better indication? Makes more sense right? And lastly a better photoshop:
  14. Should of mentioned i had the back wheels in quite a large puddle of water.
  15. I once done like a 30CM skid in my 3K 2speed which was awesome (running 145/80's) but it then preceded to be beaten by an old man on his push bike. I drive the ultimate whip lash machine.
  16. I done it with no mouse lol Shut up!
  17. Thats your opinion i think they suit the era quite well, weather it be on 10's, 20's or 30's. Heres a dodgy photoshop nick, i think they look hot. Would have more impact than thin walls, maybe run them with a red pinstripe on the wall too to break up the white?
  18. Nice wheels man, are they 13's or 14's? Ive got some spare flappers lying around but their 14" ones. Get some pointy caps :) Do it like this sexy machine: i wonder who's it is? ;)
  19. Although drag ways can be nice i don't like any particular style for my ke20. Not sure how much their worth these day either?
  20. heres a pic that shows it better, i want wheels to be flush with the flares: Those babies are sold already anyways.
  21. Yum Potential
  22. What brand are your wheels? So your after some new outer sections? (the lip) some wheel places have spare parts for 3 piece wheels, give adelaide wheel and rim works a call and they can steer you in the right direction but if you know the brand of the wheels i might know? I wasn't sure on the flares either but i want to be different :hmm: Ohh and i wont be running massive stretch, just a moderate amount like maybe 185's on a 8" rim?
  23. Nice i want those flares! They look sweet. Although i still like the TE27 ones too. It wood look like that EXCEPT it would have UBER DISH x 10 and stuff. ohh and a polished lip!
  24. Panasports are awsome but are not available in a huge range of offsets although if you didnt want to run flares they could fit absolutly perfect and look hot! I'm still considering them actually but i don't have the money just yet, Yum 13x7 +10 for stock fitment :hmm: If you can find some techno phantoms ill have to kill you because their possibly the sexiest wheel on the face of the earth? Either way if your running them you sure wouldnt be running flappers (whitewalls) since they require tubes to be fitted for safety. And it wouldnt quite look right anyway, thin whitewall maybe. Ohh let me know if you have that spare pedal box too! Looking forward to 4age pics ;)
  25. Fact: Only with 12" wheels running 135/90/12's all round and a big clutch drop. Possibly a weldy? Well that was my yellow car anyway, at least it sounded good with a 2" system with no mufflers/resonators. 4K are sex, buy buy buy.
