  1. i'll second what winke55 said, i helped re-assemble a mates front brakes on his ae82 twinky. it holds the anti-squeal shim to the back of the pad. their on both the piston side and the other side. you could get away without it.
  2. i was thinking dole queue...
  3. if you can put a deposit down on it, they might be inclined to hold it until you can pay it.
  4. some pics of the ke20 parts car too would be nice :jamie:
  5. K Engine Info winke55....that should help your knowledge base oh, and yes, there are bigger K blocks :jamie:
  6. or, if you really want an SR so badly, just buy a silvia :jamie: once you're allowed to modify your corolla, swap the drivetrain across. that way, all the money you spend on the silvia's performance won't have been a waste, and you'll know how badly the engine has been treated for the last years of its life...

was it black?? oh wait, they only come in black :P but anyway, once you've seen a ford territory limousine, nothing else compares :jamie:
  8. a 5k has a CR of 9.3:1
  9. to put a 5k in a ke20, you'll need a 5k and a ke20... and whatever tools you use to take the old engine out and put the 5k in.
  10. well, the parts car is officially stripped, doors, windows, bonnet, guards, seats, dash, steering components, boot, rear axle and diff...only the fuel tank and carpet are left :D it should be skull-dragged by saturday the latest, then the ke20 will be moved in to begin the swap. started cleaning the 5K sunday arvo and discovered it'd been painted previously. one less thing i need to do  so i just cleaned if of the grease and dirt. i'll try and get pics up of the parts car in the next few days. should be another 2 weeks and the 20 will be 5k powered... cheers Tate
  11. let's not forget about ABS Brakes now...
  12. step 1: ring engineer. tell him what engine you're putting in and all the other mods you were thinking of doing. step 2: listen to what the engineer tells you you will need to do. step 3: complete the list of what is/needs to be done for the conversion cost = total of all mods + $300~$800 for an engineers certificate (i think they can get expensive) + time and $ at road authorities
  13. Alloy Radiator Group Buy
  14. i feel for it more having the Holden Commodore badges than the rusting... no toyota deserves to be branded a holden (including the camry/apollo crossbred frankenstein thing)
  15. the air-con that came as a dealer option for the KE2X is hilarious...take's all the power (not that there's much to start with) from the 3k, but is still better than warm air  i can't wait to get the 5k in and drive around with some sort of power AND aircon over summer. mick, top work on the 30, looks sensational :lolcry:
  16. JDM battle-wagon... hydrolics, excessive camber, huge dish, oil cooler out the front, fender mirrors, fur interior, disco ball...
  17. we want to hold something over everyone else, i don't agree with it...but until i move, i have to deal with it. if only we were more like mexico... cheap, hard, non-perscription drugs, and tequila sold in every shop!
  18. you're is expected hot, mine is sh!tty overcast, northerly wind hot...and it doesn't help wearing business attire or labour working gear (heavy long pants and polyester long sleeved shirts)
  19. i can't help but see an alfa, s2000 and ve commo in that lancer... oh, and hot weather is a PITA.
  20. that is just awesome. the wheels look so bloody tough. and no bumpers too...
  21. so you'll be paying $1750 for a ke30 with a 5k and 5spd box. and getting a spare 5k and another 5spd box? does it come with rwc/rego? i paid $300 for a ke35 with a rooted body, 5k and 5spd, extractors, exhaust, and no rego. i'd probably want to get him down to around $1300-$1500, but then, i can't haggle at all :hmm: as for rebuilding the carbies, give a few calls to places that do rebuilds...they'd be able to give you answers and prices :lolcry:
  22. yeah, it's all bad! (couldn't resist the muppets quote) i hate inconsistant umpires, across every sport.
  23. ah yes, you should undo the bottom of the rear seat and take that out first.
  24. the back section needs to be slid vertically, towards the roof. put your hand in the corner of the back and bottom or the rear seat, and lift it up.
