  1. do you need me to confirm thru PM, or would you like me to come round with a singing telegram??! :o
  2. i'm quite disappointed in myself...i didn't get it running until 9:15 last night  my train home was delayed by a half hour, so i'll blame that :o took me all of 45mins to take the old exhaust and inlet off and install the extractors and original inlet. is running at about 11 degrees BTDC on 92 unleaded. sounds like a bloody truck atm when running under the carport, you can feel the car shake at low rpm :hmm: taking it for a spin tonite up to thenobblers place...maybe fit a bit of a muffler to the extractors to quieten it down a little before getting my custom exhaust made on saturday. i will try and get pics and maybe vid up sometime in the next week or so... cheers dF
  3. that's great... the first one is like looking for a partner, and the second one is like having a partner! top quality build Teddy... i can't wait to see this thing on GOR'09!!!
  4. my stock 3K put out 26.2 rwkw :o ... so long as you have more than that, you're doing well
  5. do things in stages, you don't need to buy everything at once. but getting back to your first post. the FAQ says the 5K and the 4A-C both put out 70BHP. by getting a 5k bottom end, putting on a 3k head, weber, extractors (and a cam if you wanted) you would well and truely have more power than a standard 4A-C. i can't say for sure how big an increase you would get out of a head and carbie swap, but every little bit counts on a K block!!
  6. i spent ~8 lazy, alcohol consuming hrs finishing up the 5k swap. got it running sunday arvo with the standard 3k carbie and exhaust. was running on 3 cyl for a bit, managed to get all 4 working not long after. was idling somewhere upwards of 2k. drove to put some more fuel in it, got back and started to take it apart again will be putting the extractors and 5k carbie back on it to see if it likes them a bit more. the timing might also be out, but will get that sorted after i swap the exhaust/carbie. will (should) be running again tonite by about 9pm.
  7. the guy i use is a local with a crane/tray truck...he took my bare shell the other weekend, dragged it from under the carport about 10 meters so he could lift it onto the tray. i'm sure you could find someone that will take a bare shell.
  8. finding all the parts i'll be needing for a project at extremely cheap prices...18months before i need them
  9. the 35 coupe was dragged away saturday morning...and within 30 mins the ke20 was in it's place awaiting surgury. took a few hours on my own (as my mates were too busy being hungover from a party the night before) but i got the loom wires disconnected, exhaust and inlet removed, and all the other little things connecting the engine to the body taken off. engine and box came out sometime in the arvo with the help of one mate...the proceeded to swap a few little things across from the 3k to the 5k. started again sunday evening, put the 5 spd box in place then lowered the engine in (with extractors still attached) and tried to get it to fit snugly on the mounts...no luck half an hour later. gave up for the nite. the extractors i was going to leave on had to be removed as they were fouling on the passenger footwell :lolcry: so it'll be stock exhaust until i can get them adjusted and my side pipe made/installed. (i spent an hour talking to one of the local engineers/vehicle testers who gave me the all clear on a straight swap from 3k to 5k and installing the side pipe. f**king ripper :lolcry::D) called vicroads during work time yesterday, and after spending 30mins on hold i found i have to show my car and have proof i own the engine :) so i'm tracking down who i bought my engine from for a receipt, as i didn't bother with one when i bought it... after another few hours last nite, i managed to get the engine and box kinda together... and i don't think the engine is sitting properly, as it's resting on the front swaybar. won't have time to have a proper look at it until saturday. will have it running on sunday...even if i have to stay up til some AM hour monday morning!
  10. If i can find some oils, i'll give you a call tonite when it's running...if it's running.......bugger it, i'll call you on saturday :lolcry:
  11. i saw my 20 up on stands this morning, still without a running engine :lolcry: it makes me sad to know it was supposed to be done a month ago...
  12. cheers Lindz...i'll put some funds away just for you :lolcry:
  13. just incase you were wondering why accommodation has been hard to come by, this link here will explain why! thenobbler put me in charge of finding out what the 'big thing' happening in portland was over the aus day weekend...i couldn't find anything about the RC GOR run :D maybe we need better events managers :P oh, and don't we all just want one of these... i know i'll be getting one, even if i have to steal it from someone HAHA
  14. just incase you were wondering why accommodation has been hard to come by, this link here will explain why!
  15. cheers JC...you could get the ends blasted and re-done. sux about needing to drop the motor :P and i think anything, even a piece of cable wrapped around the struts would help my atrocious body-roll atm
  16. maybe it was just a very hungry engine...anyone know what fox tastes like??
  17. can i just say this, as mine will be a few days shipping... :P thanks :D dF
  18. taken from here the 4k has 75mm bore, and the 5k has 80.5mm bore, i don't think they'll fit very well :P BUT, 1ggte pistons will fit into a 4k
  19. the top one looks just like a k50 i pulled out of my parts car...
  20. lol raven, you should be packing yourself around $20 worth of misc nibblies yourself before going on any trip longer than 3 hrs :( well, i know i do... and *** DAMN, that's quite a list.
  21. the best way to not get pulled over would be to keep it looking and sounding stock. and also drive it like a granny
  22. i'll 2nd that one :( :D and raise you people that roll up to the line, and stop with more than half their car over the big white line that you're supposed to stay behind. if you're rolling at less than 5km/h for 20 meters before the line, i'm SURE that you can stop with your front wheels BEHIND IT!!!
  23. Go Custom for $399
  24. AE and TE are just codes referring to different engines from the factory, a 4A and a 3T (i think) you'll have different engine mounts on the cross member, but the rest is pretty much the same.
  25. Teddy's Guide anything that isn't in there.... well, it's ALL in there!
