If your going to Arc weld your diff, be sure to wrap everything you don't want spatter on with aluminium foil, and give it a good drink of anti-spatter spray.

If you carefully cut a slot in the bracket thats holding the brake line with a hacksaw, you can leave them connected. Ive done it a few times, just remove the retaining clip, grab your trusty hacksaw and cut a slot just big enough so the brake line will fit through. Bob's your uncle.

Sure can, I use standard front springs in the rear of my khanacross car.

I've never payed anymore than $100 for a 32/36. Who cares if its covered in cow dung and sheep piss, clean it, put a kit through and wola. And you get to learn about your car on the way. Adapter plates for a 32/36 are available for around $50. Get your linkage, fuel line, air cleaner and jets sorted. Done. But yes a 32/36 is a bit too big for a 4k but its deffinetely do-able and drivable. You would be better off with a 32/32 weber or even a niki carburettor off a Gemini. Everything has already been answered 100's of times, just do a little searching ;)

I run 205/60/13's on a 13x6 +8 offset rim for rally, rear guards needed to be rolled slightly. King springs are probably the cheapest out there, specially if theyre second hand. Go through their web-catalogue and you can probabaly cross referance a few cars with the same size spring.

3tc garage is all about putting as much psi into a T-series motor as possible, as stated you need a complete 2tg to rape all the parts off. flycuts will need to be cut if your using standard 3t pistons, well from what I understand anyway. All the info is out there. :P

They didnt exactly get the best vid of me, but it was just a fun day for me! And tell me about it being slippery, all the layers of cow/pig/sheep shit is deffinetely a different surface to race on

One of the the clubs most popular events of the year. Includes a 600hp mustang, 200odd hp escort, r32 skyline, WB burnout ute, my ke70 and more. Cheers

Thanks a heap. Only replaced the alternator late last year so it should be in A1 condition, ill try either another dizzy or just take it too an auto elec. I can't be bothered with it, specially after working on my race car non stop. Cheers Corey

Sorry, i didn't explain myself correctly :laff: . The Tacho works perfect until the car gets around 1/4 to 1/2 on the temperature gauge. Then the tacho starts jumping around and giving the wrong reading. Cheers

anyone? Its really starting to annoy the crap out of me!

Hey all, Recently changed my clock cluster in my ae82 to a tacho one. It works perfect, until the cars temperature reaches almost half way and then it starts jumping around and giving the wrong reading. Ive pulled it out several times to check the wiring and plugs but still nothing. Anyone got any idea's? Cheers Corey

deffinetely rear wheel bearing. Mine does the exact same thing. Either buy a radio and turn it up :( or replace them. Or just buy some panadol for your headaches and drive it hard :P
-
When looking at the ae82 twin cam, make sure you look for rust around the hatch, rear guards and fuel filler. And the corona wagon would have the 22re motor in it. Pretty good torquey motors, again look for rust and I personally wouldnt be buying either of them if they have over 350,xxxkm's on the motor.

Where I Can Get A Set Of Venturi's For A 32-36 Dgv Weber?
toyota_ae71 replied to Twitch's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Yeah they do have lose venturi's. This sounds really homebrand and hillbilly spec, but mine were also fairly lose. So i just got some lock tight out and put a tiny bit around the housing bits they sit in. Venturi's are now nice and tight :) -
Efficiency And Safety Of Oil "stop Leak" Additives
toyota_ae71 replied to Tham's topic in Automotive Discussion
Got mine out without even jacking the engine up. As said be careful to not do the bolts up too tight and use plenty off gasket glue. K series have the worst sump design. A pit was also a great help. Cheers -
By knuckles you mean steering arms, yeah? You'l need ae86, xt130 or t18 steerings arms to fit them, ke70 ones are slightly too small. One of toyota's great ideas once again haha.

It's all personal taste mate, some people like pink steering wheels, some people hate after market steering wheels full stop. If you like it then buy it, its your car.
-
Keep in mind that postage for 4 wheels is over $280. Ill PM you with a website, he's the cheapest I know of.
-
Unless nanny did an engine change before hand, then no it should be a 4k. 4AC only came out in slant front ae71. :D
-
It could be done, depending on how much patients you have, how good you're fab skills are and if you have the right tools available. I have a mate who has converted his Datsun stanza (live axel) to datsun 180b IRS. And also another mate who has a Datsun 1600 with s13 rear end. Good on you for being different, don't listen to the haters saying don't do it because it looks too hard.
-
Nice work on the key banger :D . The picture of your car with the s13 stockies on, is that with or without spacers? If so what size spacers? Cheers
-
Theres a few names that get around for these type of looking wheels. Such as fireballs, hurricanes, turbo's, turbines. And yeah these are off a 200b SX, and some of the 4 cylinder sports versions from datsun.

AMEN to that! You could shim your diff centre but it's a complete pain in the arse to do, unless you know your way around a diff. And it's still not that great, your other options could be sending your diff away to a certain place to get it made into a 'semi' lsd, replacing your whole diff so it can accept lsd or weld it. But i must say, unless it's a race car, most of these are useless. Cheers
