  1. Generally the following is the case. * If your engine is blowing constant smoke, generally it's just the rings. * If under extreme vaccum shift from what to Closed throttle you get a little puffet of smoke, you have dead valve guides.
  2. I think they were 3SFE powerd I believe. They must have been made in japan because all the sedans ran the square plug. They run the dark grey injector which are 200cc and the correct resistance aswell. Beats getting ripped off on a set of pink ones, if you can find them. Full List of toyota injectors
  3. Yeah I heard a while back of someone trying to sell a 20v with power in that range. I believe it was stroked with a 7AFE block and had after market cams. You can also now get pistons with a real high wrist pin so you can retain the stronger 4A block and rods. Don't expect any change from $6000 though. Moral of story is, get some more CC's or a blower if you want that sort of power for a reasonable price :P
  4. This just shows you how similar the 20V valve head is in terms of valve layout to a Ferrari V12 item. Haven't ever seen an image of one b4, thought someone might be interested. 60V V12 is nice but won't fit in my rolla! Why hasn't toyota made a 40V 3.2L V8 damn it, imagine that, anyone got a thick checkbook  Ferrari
  5. Went pink injector clip hunting the other day. Found that FWD pre-widebody camry wagon's were the deal. The sedans weren't the same. It is only possible to get 2 clips per spacia, need to pull out the motor to score the other 2. Got a spare set if anyone is in need.
  6. I've got a 5K electric dizzy if someone want to buy it.
  7. I've been thinking about getting an ultrasonic cleaner on ebay and using it on my injectors. It's $40- 60 a pop to get them flowed and cleaned, but I reakon it could work. About $60 for the unit
  8. Thing is though you might want to be able to tune the motor, I want the rings and bearings to be run in. If I got a 100kw bottom end I'd be inclined to get new gze pistons, bigends, mains and rings, which is the plan once I have a good map to play with.
  9. When you add up the cost of an ecu, turbo and manifold, intercooler and piping. It makes you think, it would be worth spending the $700 bucks on forged 20V pistons? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-TURBO-4AGE-2...1QQcmdZViewItem I've heard GZE pistons ping like a bitch in a 20V unless alot of tuning is done. I'm in the process of getting a 4AGTE together, thought about going down the 20V road, but considering I want to run a megasquirt, I figured a Low K gze bottom end would be cheaper to kill than a turbo 20V item.
  10. Ok, I'll go a bottle or a carton. Must be a video with you and a watch visible :rocknroll:
  11. Free slab for the first rollaclub member to film themselves passing out from lack of oxygen :rocknroll:
  12. I held my breath till I passed out in year 9, my vision went to a small square and I couldn't hear anything or move for about a minute afterwards. That was about 2 min's. 1:47 is my latest.
  13. I abused it for about 6 -7 months with a fresh head with daily 7500 visits. Valve springs were about 12mm shorter than some that I pulled off another head when I shimmed it up. mmm 100 kph in 2nd, soo much noise :D
  14. The burr on the cup is killing your seal dude * Put the sparky cup flat upright on a bench. * Find a good bolt/ punch the width of the bottom of the cup and and hammer it flat again. * Get a die grinder or a round file and take the burr off the aluminum edge so the spark plug fits again. Then as TRD KE70 says. That stopped the oil getting blown out under compression with mine. New cups are exxy, and the wreckers are hit and miss.
  15. I wouldn't bother messing around with twin downdraft carbs, go the side drafts, much better bluff value. I take you don't want that 32/36 weber anymore? Must be time to ebay it
  16. For that price I'd be heading out and buying a rust bucket for the project. Cost you $200 tops. Then you have everything. Only thing is, everyone likes the shifter position in the KE70 box's, but the tail shafts are different.
  17. Hey man, wacol wreckers have 2 AE71's atm, bit of a hike but might be worth it.
  18. I'd thought I'd let you all know the cheapest way to get a sports air filter for a Nikki carb. They have a 3 1/8 circular input tube style, so just get a low profile HKS style 3" filter and put a little oil /detergent on the rubber and she'll slot on. I had a full size pod on mine for months rubbing on bonnet :S
  19. You can also just add anonther inline relay into the light circuit and trigger it with the accessories circuit. Auto switch off lights :hammer:
  20. I've got monroe GT's all round in my KE55, and lowered king springs in the front, very firm ride, apart from the dodgy leafy springs. Cost me $230 for the Front and rear shocks, 100 for the front springs, $90 for new bushes, handled sweet.
  21. I'm looking all up, with a brand new exhaust and a reco 4AGE about the 1600 mark buiding it up bit by bit. You wouldn't be dissapointed.
  22. I've seen the vid of that burn out comp :D That thing is gonna be scary with the blower on it ... bet you can't wait.
  23. oo, i got lucky. Gonna try to hook up a JDM ecu too, anyone know if the injectors are the same?
  24. Someone should have fun with this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Weber-Intake-Manifo...1QQcmdZViewItem Brad
  25. aarrgh. Yeah piccy would be good. Does something interfere with the manifold ?
