So Ive had a idea that may make me stick with my ke20 with a 4k. It is currently a very healthy engine with even compression, 5k electronic distributor, 3kbp head etc. I'm thinking of making a custom inlet manifold for 4x individual throttle bodies,using one TPS sensor at the end of the throttle shaft, and 4x 300cc injectors. Instead of using a twin weber/dellorto manifold I'm thinking of fabricating my own inlet manifold flange and tig welding the runners, injector bungs and buying some throttle bodies. whats sort of ecu would be compatible with this setup? I'm thinking a megasquirt may be on the cards??? planning to ditch the distributor, run individual coil packs and a crank angle sensor arrangement on the front crankshaft balancer, comprising of a pulse generator sensor and trigger wheel. now my questions are to do with the crank angle sensor arrangement... if i machine a trigger wheel with a larger air gap for TDC no.1 how many other teeth do i need on the pulley to switch the coils? so if i had a larger air gap for TDC no.1 then the following teeth would be set up in the ecu as the firing order to switch the coils??

No. your timing is one tooth out. do you lnow what 'dwell' is? Its the time in distributor degrees that the points are closed to sturate the coil. -

need a 5k vac advance unit from a electronic distributor, can someone help me out? 0437866373

Okay since I searched and found no info for people how to wire up a 5k electronic distributor I thought id make a topic to tell users. This is on my ke20 corolla so some things may be slightly different between models The 5k distributor is a pulse generating type with in built ignitor (ignition module). There is a two pin toyota connector with a black wire (negative) and a black with orange tracer (posative). Remove your old points distribtor, the 4mm black wire going to the distributor points is connected to the black wire on the two pin plug (this is negative switching for your coil). Connect the black with orange tracer to the posative side of your coil. note if you have a ballist resistor on your coil you will need to change it to a 12v non resistor coil (I used a Gt40 coil), so disconnect the wire from the loom at the bottom of your ballast resistor and go straight to the + of your coil.

Hi, I have a electronic 5k distributor in my 4k ke20 corolla, it has a buggered vacuum advance diaphragm, I'm wondering if anyone knows, are they interchangable with a vac advance unit from a 3k nippondenso dizzy?

its a carby 7k. don't know how much he wants for all the bits and pieces, but wouldn't be missing to much if you got the parts from him. just want it gone, I'm not too sure what it needs to get the engine complete s i want it gone. $100

got a 7k here still for sale. $100 NEED GONE ASAP complete bottom end, now has a 3k inlet/exhaust manifold that bolts up, needs flywheel, fuel pump, distributor and pushrods. needs reco. $100 can't GO WRONG CHEAP i have a mate with nearly all the bits to get this going including a electronic 5k distributor 0437866373 DO IT

hi guys i have a 73 ke20 corolla and ive had it for 3 or so years but now it has no use and I'm thinking of moving out. just wondering what sort of price to put on it and what they go for in very good condition? to give you a bit more of an idea, its a 73 ke20, its that burnt orange/brown colour, has been resprayed id say about ten years ago by a previous owner, was a 3k toyo glide, but now rebuilt 4k, 5sp. interior is very neat but not imaculant, has some old school recaro bucket seats, retrimmed dash, imacculant original carpet. has 13x7 hotwires with great tyres, all brand new suspension bushes done and was put through a recent roadwothy. the body is very good, paint has a few small marks and shopping trolley dents, only rust is a pin head on one lower section of the front guard and a few bubbles behind the rear pop out side windows. has all repainted tailight and headlight surrounds and ke25 front corner garnishes. i also have a few spares including a 7k short engine and factory fitted ke20 air conditioning with all the brackets and bits(not fitted) would like to sell to an enthusist who would put the 7k and a/c in but just need to know a rough idea on what its worth??
