  1. update! ryan helped out today. we were welding my inner guards and we had to get the car nice and high!! this is goood! easy to work on!! backyard spec! gonna go harder on the engine bay.. do more smoothing + panel beating etc.!! sooo all holes have been spot welded. random pic of finished vent shave and almost finished guard!
  2. ahk thats a good idea. mix that process with some hot glue? but no way would i find this at a wrecking yard! its from a 4age 20v.
  3. well I'm'm gonna ring toyota on tuesday and see if i can get one new. if not then i'll probs send it to you maybe?
  4. ok here. its the very bottom timingbelt cover.
  5. hey all. yesteray my engine fell over in my bay....... :locked:  wasn't secured real well and on one of my plastic covers a bolt hole lug has snapped off. these cover are pretty hard to find so i need to have this one fixed. there is plenty of meat in the plastic. so does anyone have a number for a place that'll do polywelding? or anyone have a welder and is good at it? cheers, Luc
  6. got my kaizen garage CAS cover today!! its very noice!!
  7. yeah i figured as much the welder i used is 3 phase and has hand peice wire feed but i've weighed the costs up and it'll be cheaper for me to cut the bits and pay someone to weld it all up!
  8. noob question but when using adjustable do you adjust to pull in on the towers or push outt?
  9. thanks man!! good info yeah basically what i've done is run everything that needs power like 02 sensor injectors ISCV etc to a main relay. this includes power for ecu. then another relay for fuel pumps and another relay for starter. pretty simple once you get your head around not using most of the stock loom.
  10. yep! us southies should all meet about an 1hr os so before big meet up and take a run through scenic highway in clarendon up to blackwood thru windy pint then we're not far from CBD. then meet with everyone else.
  11. cool colour choice man! i bet it turns heads!! as for the sticker??? sif!! that 1 gram of weight will probs kill the k motor!!
  12. TWISTIES!!!!! if twisties are involved i'll con the missus into letting me drive her mx5!! if we want a more south meet point how about windy point? us southies can start along scenic highway enjoy some good driving before meeting up for a litle bit of twisty action before cruising?
  13. right! thats what i've started to realise. water to air better for quick burst sorta cars. but for an everyday sorta application the air to air will be better. 300x300 will be ok you reckon cuzzo? thats pretty small!
  14. yeah jason behave!! on solids yet??? GOBBIES!!! jokes!
  15. ok all bay wiring re routed and stuff! here is a quick shot of hw little wiring you'll see! well pretty much nothing!! coil igntior etc all inside the car. alarm relays etc inside the car as well.
  16. http://www.frozenboost.com/product_info.ph...21f38675548b096 here add the better water pump and a better cooler.. the barrel type and the filler neck etc. and for under $500 you've got a full kit!
  17. yeah the barrel type ones i've been looking at are quite compact! and also the radiators are quite small. mount in front of your normal one. with the thermo on front and a thermo on the rear. soo yeah i never looked at price but 1000 seems worth it. a good intercooler would cost 500+ then you've got your plumbing. also the cutting away on grills and valences etc wouldn't be needed. sooo main issues are price and complexity? so if price isn't an issue which would be the better one to go with... bearing in mind about cutting away at things and ninja spec?
  18. well air to air is more simple but you have a larger pressure drop also they are huge!! so this = cutting? water air is more compact. although yes more to go wrong. but no more things to go wrong than your radiator? miniture rad with mini thermo plumbed into a little barrel which you air passes through. any other reasons?? cost about the same.
  19. as above. from what i understand water to air is a lot better and more compact than air to air. if this is the case then why????? are air to air the more common?
  20. i like that idea redwarf. i tried once. had the car in gear with handbrake on and foot pushed har as down on the brake pedal. breaker bar and the f&*ker still didn't budge. car just moved instead!
  21. here are the finished pics now to make again in ali!
  22. Jip! yeah mate engine bay is getting painted phantom black with a custom pearl. ecu will be behind x member as ryan said. Raven: yeah it was a possibility but where the wires are coming into the car it was easier to mount there. Mr AE71: hmmm this car will not be carrying more than one passenger at a time very often at all. also i'm probably going to be making a cover for it that way if kicked it won't matter. when my car was going before i hardly ever had passengers. also being right behind that x member it hangs over the footwell only slightly. so i doubt that peoples feet will even get to it anyways. KE30_KE35_KE55: it was painted with Jotun full gloss high temp 2 pack! thanks guys for the airbox compliments. i have finished it but.... i'm not happy! its waaaay to heavy! 3.8kg! i've also found out you can mig ali with the right wire and sheild! turns out we have the sheild at work. my gf's dad has enough ali for me. so all i need to do is source the wire! so a new one will be made soon i hope! this one will be a tester!
  23. more airbox work! also gbox is painted. some test fitting pics! afm mounting position.
  24. ok did a fair bit of work to my airbox thanks to ryan for help designing it! this design allows the afm to be mounted neatly and descretely!
  25. update! going thru stock engine bay loom! cutting out all unnecesary stuff ie. fuel solenoid aircon stuff etc etc. ryan helping! wiring in progress computer is going under drivers seat. also integrating alarm into incabin loom with sensors and also in the process of integrating the central locking. gearbox has been in a tank of metal clean over the wkend cam up really good! hopefully a lick of paint tomorrow!
