  1. ami seeing the brake lines correctly.? or not seeing em?? :) i take it the brake lines are fed thru the firewall? if yes then how will that go with roadworthy and defect issues? i love the idea...... wouldn't mind using it with my build...... tricky?
  2. you can get a banjo fitting from a ford telstar. this allows you to use all your standard lines. search toymods there is a thread there explaining the whole conversion
  3. did some work to the rolla. engine bay is probs about 60% stripped back to metal. come to realise that i can't finishe of the rear end until i can get my rotisserie. welding underneath a car just aint fun. i have the rotisserie just nee d to modify it a bit. but i need to be back at work for that. so engine bay is getting all the attention atm.
  4. funny story trying to get the cank bolt off.. had a flywheel bolt in one of the hole. a pole jammed up against that and the engine stand. breaker bar and socket on the main bolt..... not strong enough..... i aint weak either..... what have i got nearby...... hmmmm i used a leaf spring on the end of the breaker bar!! still was hard to get off!
  5. cheers man i'm pretty happy with em. ok here is my engine work pics. basically everything is stripped down. the head has been stripped also. except for the VSS. as soon as i chase down some 4agze pistons and some head bolts it'll be getting balanced.

  7. well since i got the rotors i could put my struts together. well one of em. lost a clip for a brake pad so only one is finished. these were done once before but i wasn't happy just VHT paint on the struts etc. now powder coated the caliper has been done in a high temp enamel off the gun so much better. also the springs are custom made from ryan.
  8. ok new stuff arriving! my soundstream splits! love em but they are soooo heavy and the magnet is massive! gonna be a nightmare to install! ARP rod bolts And my slotted rotors for my mx62 cressy struts!

  10. what do you mean?? i have an HKS timing belt. on the way. the crank rods and pistons are getting balanced as soon as i sort out what pistons i'm gonna use. fully rebuilt. the gze pistons i believe will drop the compression down to about 9:1 or 9.5:1 so plenty. ST are very strong motors.
  11. well plans have changed since i have now been in a 20v powered ke. power not gonna do it. so turbo route is happening. hence want to change to ze pistons. i could spend like 1k on arias 20v pistons but for a lot cheaper the ze pistons will handle plenty of boost

  13. Ok i've been told that i can use 4agze pistons in my 20v. but it'll make the motor an interferance motor.? if this is the case then what are the pros and cons of changing this?

  16. yeah i kno. just kinda got over it for a bit. then the photoshoot came along and made me wanna get it done again. pulled the engine down this arvo and it was pretty clean.. oil sludge wise. but is fully carboned up tho. interesting thing was that the spark plugs i pulled out were iridiums...! pretty stoked but will probs get new ones as these are black as black. does anyone have ideas on how to get the main crank bolt undone WITHOUT a impact wrench?
  17. not much been happening. kinda over it for a bit. keen to get back into it tho. few things purchased. HKS timing belt. ARP head bolts are on their way. gastket kit. Some Soundstream turantula splits are on their way. also got all of my seals... 4 doors front rear windscreen and also boot seal. drawings are done for boot install and door trims. got two weeks off work still so i hopw to get a fair bit done.... weather permitting.

  22. rumour has it... unconfirmed as yet but a late model commodore strut top will fit. minor mod needs doing to shocker but if this is the case they'd be available thru pedders

  24. who cares about the research... research only makes it a bit easier... to do something no one has done takes balls... i would reckon that the very first 4age KE conversion went ahaead without any thought into how it was going to be done. i bet the person just went yep i'm gonna do it! and went ahead with it and thanks to people like that we now know as much as we do about the conversion. IF this goes ahead he may be opening up some other options... i hope it does go ahead.. will be great to see what work would need doing. he went with the b18? i reckon a vvtli engine from the new corolla sportivos woulda been a better idea.
  25. who cares dude just pick something different and do a real good tech write up. i'm sure everyone here will appreciate seeing something different. the honda engine (f20c) is good but heavy. but i would still love to see it happen
