  1. yes i did read and well this isn't a cruise for going slow in a group. this cruise is for people he genuinely like to challenge their driving skills. hence why we going latish.. to avoid traffic. at 6:30 your gonna cop traffic.
  2. Large!!! and chicken flavour if you don't come... BYO but plug!! :jamie: still working the route as we speak. but it'll be fun. ma be set for sat. yet.
  3. Ok for everyone that enjoys twisties. meet point is woodcroft wok in a box carpark. a bit late to try and avoid traffic. (cruise killer) it will start south and end north i won't be putting route up here but register interest here and pm me for the route. i will print copies of map for those that may or may not be able to keep up with the pace. i will also allow some stop time for possible stragglers at various points. any car welcome! cheers, Luc
  4. there is a thread on toymods that covers most weights and i beleive that a full dry k motor inc manifold etc comes to 80-90kg
  5. twin shock thing is a good idea!! i wonder if something like that can get passeg engineering? food for thought later on. maybe develope a bolt on kit instead of welding and sell em? could be a good money maker! i for one would be interested in a bolt on kit so easily removed if the car needs checking over by authorities.
  6. good work mate! about time we saw something!! haha nice score on the 20v you've got yourself a 2nd gen silvertop! bit better flowing and dual throttle linkage! i only got a 1st gen.. a bit rougher! pending bay pics and drive!
  7. amen! old motors= well old outdated!
  8. well cruise route? we talking poser cruise? or fun stuff?
  9. torque delivery isn't everything to some people. depends on how the individual driver likes to drive. i'm not a fan of cutting sick burnouts or anything like that so torque isn't important. however my driving style is waaay up in the rpm range when doing hill runs. i spend a lot of time near the limiter so up there its all about the KW not the torque. but again driving style... during the week etc or around town i put around like a nanna. so as said before it all depends on what you want out of your car.
  10. 20vt is a good option. the silvertop share the same rods as the ae101 gze so it has the beefiest rods etc. the high compression is downer for turbo but.... a fella on club 4age has been running 14.3psi for over a year now on stock compression, pistons etc he has only done work to his exhaust side of things. and with that he's making 220kw atw,!! but even that pushing it. a silvertop will handle 7-9 psi all day long on stock internals.... not saying from experience but from lots and lots of research. and that will give you approx 150rwkw. td04 would be a good turbo. the 16v is more torquey. but the silvertop isn't... although if you go aftermarket ecu and have the vvt switch on earlier you will make the power and more torque a lot earlier on. my thoughts are..... 16v is more simple and easier... no real benefit over the 20v. 20v more difficult but newer technologies and still just as much potential as a 16v. another thing to consider is that ARIAS make aftermarket low compression pistons for the 20v......
  11. nope 4age is a 1.6ltr cossy.
  12. not sure but i would believe that the adaptor plate would block off the original injector holes eand the ones for the throttles would be used.
  13. nah if you want 2 litre and ford go a cosworth
  14. i thought some people may be interested in this build~! so yeah hope you enjoy the read. its not finished but its well worth it. http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=1638&page=1
  15. hmmm anyone interested in another cruise?? but one for us people that like fast hilly runs??
  16. 4age 20v ST throttles are slightly smaller than the BT ones trav. but even still ST is more than enough. and also 20v 4ages the injectors are in the throttle bodies not the head.
  17. yeah sorry guys the gf was oh so very embarrassed!! personally i didn't think it was that bad the pub was nice and we all got to chat in coolness. but hey. yes she is getting me a key tomorrow!! big thanks to ryan for letting us come back to his place! loved the turn out and the roads were great. pity about airborn rollas and slow traffic!! one day one day i will be driving my rolla on one of these cruises!!
  18. nice exhaust! only one muffler?? i bet its very vry loud!
  19. trav why don't you just buy a set of throttles? they come up time to time for pretty cheap. you then can make yourself an adaptor plate and everything is there.
  20. man your a legend!! you weren't joking about the rear quarters being hard!! done lots of filing sanding... whoops too much off redo again etc etc. i reckon i got one side done but still got one more!! you gonna do any bay work?
  21. YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!! 17!!!! enjoy but.... still not 18!??? haha have a good one champ!
  22. in adelaide i got quoted for rechroming my bumpers. $480 for stripping and rechrome for each bumper then if panel beating is needed they charge $70 an hour! so close to 1k
  23. i don't get angry but yesterday was frustrating! almost 8 hrs to change a clutch in a RWD. i hate compact complex RWD cars that you need tiny little asian hands to get to everything!! so if anyone wants to buy an mx5 make sure the clutch is newish!! cos its a mega bitch! i'm sure jason can add to this too as he spent the 8 hrs with me doing it!
  24. ok, put clear on! put bright bronze and copper flake in the clear. can't really see it thru my camera phone but up close it looks cool. can't wait to get these out in the sun!
