  1. Hey fellow Rollaclubbers :rolls: Watsonia is holding its third annual motorshow, and us car enthusiasts have an oppturtunity to display our vehicles for the afternoon. Quoted from the pamphlet "Unique and unusual cars required for display!!" Date: Saturday 13 November 10am till 4pm Location: Watsonia Rd & Greensborough Rd Watsonia. You will need to provide you're name, address, phone number and email. Then provide a car description, stating registration number, year, make and model. ***All cars MUST be registered by Friday 22nd October. Note that we reserve the right to choose vehicles for display & that registration may not automatically reserve a space*** Contact Linda Carroll: 0417 383 410 or email: [email protected]
  2. Try Combined Auto Salvage in Cooper St in Somerton, a tidy white flat front front ke70 had a preety good front bar on it. And there are two slant fronts down at pick a part in campbellfield.
  3. Where abouts do you live mate, its not City of Banyule is it? Like Greensborough, Montmorency, Heidelberg etc, etc. As some of the outing photos shown seem famailiar to where I suggested.
  4. As far as making it go a bit harder go for it, you can either tickle around with the 4k or just buy a 5k from a km36 Liteace and slot it between the struts much more effective mod any k series Corolla can achieve. For a ke55 it looks preety tidy though. Keep us updated.
  5. Its good you're back in a Toyota mate, continue on giving it a schmicko thorough detailing like you've done and it will be a winner. I'd be inclined to lower it a little, just for it to be a little bit different. :lolcry:
  6. Welcome and what Evan said, why ruin such a clean ke55 and use it for drifting. A ke70 would have been better as its a more modern platform to work with, especially if you want to drift it. Saying that though, ke70's arent exactly easy to find now...
  7. Wasnt me despite the car sounding identical, maybe it was a wealthy old bird taking her ke for a cruise while leaving the daily driver Bentley on the back burner :jamie: In all seriousness though Leah, there are some stunning e7's I see in passing and wonder who owns them too.
  8. Hey Jesse, The louvre was good but this is cool, and Paul is chasing a louvre so its win win :blinks: Its coming together nicely, like a project should. Nearing home base though which is good too. In regards to the petrol, I used it to remove the sticky tabs that were left behind after I peeled off the black clips. I'm still working out though how I'm going to remove the grime that has built up around the louvre clips you can make them out in the two pics, I can't scrape it off so I might use a metallic scourer :jamie: .... I'll do that when I feeling a bit better......
  9. Great as I have decided on the type 1 as well :jamie: I'll measure the lenghts, widths and fonts then forward them to a sign writer.
  10. Thanks mate, and probably one last thing to add... I am deciding between the two styles to put on the ae71. The colour would be gold so it will tie in with the existing pin stripes. Type 1: Type 2:
  11. Okay well my venetian has finally arrived from Canberra, nicely packed but very, very dusty. After a good clean it came up as new - couldnt be happier. A little awkward installing one in a tiny e7 though. Took off the old louve and the sticky tabs and ran some petrol over the glue marks for a clean finish.. I had a look through the glove box of a st141 Corona and found this, free of charge :jamie: Photos. A little reflective....
  12. Its the character and charisma that the ke11 has :blinks: , you don't see many in this condition and being the little car amongst the American metal no doubt its a standout. :jamie: Good work Des.
  13. Its been sold off. Was such a nice car proior to mods, Previous original seller before Brodie bought it had it advertised for $5,500
  14. Parrot, were there any ke70 or ae71 corollas there? I'm chasing the mudflaps for the ae71 but have no luck so far. Also there is a yellow e7 at kylsyth pick a part, anyone seen it yet? Pic of mudflaps in question. The "corolla" one on the white ke70.
  15. Loving the progress Jesse, that green coat you did above the windscreen looks (overrated literally) The car will look great once it all the same green. Engine bay is beaut too :blinks: :jamie:
  16. Top job Brian, well done!
  17. Now you have really gotten me excited, the wick has been lit :blinks:
  18. Use a heat gun but don't apply heat in the one spot for too long as you will bubble the paint, heat it to the point where the mouldings will easily come off. Eucalyptus oil should help in removing any glue, or paint thinner.
  19. We want photos Jesse!! :)
  20. I can't wait to see it with the rear bar, it will really balance the car out nicely. So tough but so clean, this is unique in its own right. Keep the progress coming.
  21. Hey Reed, I could imagine this car with a ge betwen the struts but kept standard on the outside. But the funny thing would be me dressing up like an old veteran and popping the clutch at take off and giving the commodore boys a hard time :) Their reaction would be priceless. Thanks for the encouraging words too, and that venetian I won was from the link you put up too.

    Ke70

What a great score Jimi, I recall seeing this on ebay and was hoping it would go to a good home! Are those miniltes 13 inch? If you consider putting speakers in the front doors pm me as I have identical cards with holes in them as I replaced them for uncut cards instead.
  23. Not that I would pursue such an idea Me Jesse, but if I did such an engine change I would assure you the interior and exterior of this car would be left how it is now :) . Standard so it scare the socks off other road users, but it boogies well enough with the healthy 4ac.
  24. The bonnet protector I have never seen before Matt, not even Toyota had these as an option which is why I never looked for one. The venetian will be good when it finally arrives though. :)
  25. Hey Evan what motor was under the bonnet when I showed you on Sunday, no push rods for this machine :) It'll look weird with that tin plate and a plastic shroud underneath. Ill leave it how it came....
