  1. Thats the advantage of white cars, but still I like it
  2. Buy one, buy one, buy one, you know you want to. 4 coils and shocks all round, rack and pinion steering, choice of an economical 1.3, or super responsive 1.6 :poke:
  3. Bummer, I went to see a mate in Mill park and then travelled from there to Mill park lakes. A good few hours spent there, some things came up at 1.30 ish so I had to head home and along the way I noticed quite a few tyre shops, so I popped in and the last shop I went to I inquired about tyres for the ke70, so I went back home grabbed some money and before you knew it, he was up in the air getting new rubber put on. I was the last car by that stage and It was 4pm lock up time. Also I thought you said you were fiddling around with you're suspension? At least I can drive with confidence now.
  4. The ke70 looks so fresh in the last photo. I like it a lot
  5. It needs work but its an original and most importantly an honest car. Like my cars, there are always things that need doing, its good its going to someone like yourself who will retain the originality while making it a bit different :y: :y:
  6. Keep at it Joshie, every little bit done properly is better than rushing it all at once. The results will speak for themselves
  7. Yes they do, However "hardtops" are pillarless and have no window frames.
  8. I know this is going to sound boring, but serously keep it as it as. That is truly a spotless ke38 in metallic too. Its ones like this I really, really appreciate. :y:
  9. More nice weather over the weekend so I made the absolute most of it by doing things on the ke70. 1, Wash it, dusty from sitting around. 2, Pull out my forever black and freshen the bumbers and rub strips. 3, Change radiator coolant and flush system with heater on. Took my time which was worth it. People who know North east Melbourne, I took the car up the ring road, through the start/stop traffic in mill park before going back home via the sttep nasty South Morang gorge which it took in its stride  and kept its cool. 4, Refreshed the interior with some rejuvenator, (its not armourall). But its shiny none the less. 5, Polished the exterior and chrome wheel trims so it beads off water :y: and also did the engine bay. I was actually suprised how dusty it was. 6, Driving on 12 year old tyres displayed you were riding on top of the road, as opposed to sticking on it. So its now sporting 4 brand new Bridgestone Turanzas, seriously you cannot feel bumps now, and speed humps..... they don't feel like speed humps. Built for comfort  Next I need to reupholdster the driver and passenger seat bases, as the vinyl has seperated slightly over the years. I actually like the look of the uncovered seats and interior in general. Then the analogue clock needs checking as its not operating :hmm: maybe someone can make some suggestions?? Then lastly some dents and rust removal. Pictures tell a thousand words. It drives and handles like a new car! The ke70 amongst the gumtrees.... ADM only. Its that bright astronaughts can see it :P The ae71 is getting some attention this weekend, so stay tuned.
  10. Hey Evan,

Whats happening this weekend, are you considering doing a pre run this weekend. Like on a saturday?? As i'd be interested in coming with you.

Also I wont be attenting the cruise unfortunatley, as the ae71 will be having its manual transplant done. You're the first rc guy i have told.

Let me know what you think anyway.

  11. With the windscreen, inquire if it can have the pitting/chips "polished out" the bloke who did the rw on my ae71 tried to rip me as my as new windscreen had slight scratches in it. Luckily I requested to have the issues polished out and it was in an afternoon :) So what about saturday during the day, i.e late morning or early afternoon? As thats when i'd most likely be in the area.... :hmm: PM me you're mobile if you can :)
  12. Very clean ke70, and those interior shots are so cool :y: :y:
  13. Shame to hear about the tail lamp :( Are you going to reinstall the damage free adm lamps to pass the R.W. As I believe the cracked will fail. Awesome job on the polishing, looks very fresh. Whats on the cards this weekend? I was thinking of taking my ke70 for a run out your way on a saturday.
  14. Great stuff Joe, long trips pay off with these cars, as you said they tend to run better after an open drive
  15. Good luck mate, It'll pass :y:

    Ke70

Hey Jimi, The little ke70 seems preety quick around the course! Good work.
  18. Call it Flipper, being blue only backs the name further
  19. Hey Joe, any updates on the Corolla? You didnt park in front of my place did you :P
  20. Looking grouse mate, always getting fresher! :y:
  21. Hi mate if i may add flat front and slanty front ke70's had the same 4k engine. However through the ke70s life cycle Toyota tweaked around with the emission controls on the 4k. You will be able to tell because if the air filter housing says "hi cam" Toyota, it was a later model 4k with more or less vac lines and valves. But auto and maual manifolds should be the same.
  22. Theres alwyas a red slanty in Greensborough if you want to have a gawk  I saw a red slanty in Eltham it was a p platers, slightly faded, bit of rust and the bumper was hanging down in one corner. Preety much how my one was. BUT it was very, very straight and original. Then I remembered a young girl owned it as dad said he saw it parked at Greensborough Plaza, it had the gold stripes, same wheels, green and white plates etc, etc. So he walked up to have a look and saw two girls sitting inside it... Then he realised it was the wrong car :laff: If only i saw them  As I had the red ae71 and some car detail/servicing cards, I decided to wait until she came out so I could introduce myself to her and offer my services, but she didnt come out. :glare:
  23. A few more photos from the night me and some mates went for a drive. Paul won ebay two Toyota Corolla cigarette holders, One a ke70 and the other an ae82. I got the ae82 and couldnt believe the weight of it, its quite heavy. Its a plated metal, so the touching over the years made it tarnish but with some chrome polish it cleaned up nicely  Johno, Trev where you :poke: There are no before pics. Finally in Melbourne we experienced some nice weather, so out with the pressure cleaner (first time in 4 years) and gave the 71 and Getz a good scrub, then dad and myself polished the cars for the rest of the afternoon. I bought that Turtle Wax polish, It may be called Colour Cure - you buy the tyre according to car colour, no naturally it was red for me. Gave it a good go everywhere on the car and the finish is bloody awesome. So rich, deep and glossy. Presenting the A team
  24. I'm getting the feeling young Josh wants an e7  Wise choice for a wise man
