Rolla Bus Ae82 W/rebuilt 4agze (yet To Be Started)!
Johno replied to RollaBus_4agze's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Sorry to hear that. What sort of hard fuel lines do you have under the car? I know that twinky lines are about double the size of 4ac lines. -
I have a falcon and have owned 4 others too, EA was the worst one but if you want to get started on shit cars then point the finger at Magna

That's an incredible Restoration! So much attention to detail. ;)

This came from this site, hop it helps a bit. I'm not too sure about these things.. lol. Its about 2/3 down the page at 200-220 hp QUOTE There are two crankshafts available for the 4AGE, the 'small' one which has the big end journals of 40mm dia, and the 'big' crank which has 42mm big ends. The big crank weighs about 700grams more than the small crank, (~11kgs Vs ~11.7kgs) and up to about 200hp - 220hp it is stronger, but in practice there is little difference between the two cranks. This changes with more than that amount of power though ... QUOTE

Umm.... yeah thats about right :D I'm not actually working on the seca, just painting the front end to transfer over to the sedan but seeing how good the fronts coming up I might still do the rest of the car. Its all still up in the air atm. Yeah, that sounds like a fair trade.. :D Thanks mate, simple the way i like it right now, nothing too big (just yet.. :) ) Yeah, umm... saftey gear. About that, I sort of didn't have any and I kinda got poisoned and had massive headache and nearly had a seizure so no more painting till I get a mask :( Thanks to everyone for the great support. :) I'm getting hopefully dropping the motor off to the mechanics tomorrow to get new stuff on it. BTW, are GATES timing belts any good??

I got new boot rubbers from Clark rubber and they are pretty good. It was expensive though, it think 65 just for the boot
-
Thats one very clean celica. I was looking at celica's yesterday and they are getting pretty expensive now.. :D You done real well with that, I'm keen to see how it turns out. :)

Ok, I know alot of people on here are looking and asking how to mod their 4age engine. Here is a page I found very useful. It shows step by step how to increase a engines power by 10hp increments Enjoy.. CLICK

The looks pretty tough with the front lip. Is that bumper stock? It sorta looks like a series 1 ae82 bumper but its missing all the little plastic vents underneath..?
-
I just painted the front end on the corolla, i sprayed using 2 pack and it came up pretty good. I used your trick and rubbed it back with 2000grit wet rub and it came up wicked. I now see how you got your bonnet looking so good with pressure cans.. hehe :) The sandpaper just rubs the top surface of the paint away and flattens it all out so its like glass. :D

I wasn't happy with the finished guard's so I gave them another coat this arvo and they came up awesome :hmm: Not a single little dent anywhere, just shows how much 1 years worth of prep can do I guess.. :D
-
Today i painted the 2 pack Gloss on the front end. both quarter panels are finished but the bonet has only got 1 coat on, Wind, dust, lint and bugs were a huge problem. I was amazed to find that 600 grit sandpaper was too rough, i had to rub it all down with 1000grit before applying the last coat on the quaters. There is still a bit of crap on the paint but its pretty good concidering I didn't use a spray booth :D My finished panels in the sun to bake

Using an old speaker to find that missing nut that you dropped on the ground, its very useful and who can forget the cigarette lighter to open a cold beer :D -

Thanks, its pretty easy to do. You just need some rust converter, body filler, primer (white primer would be better) and a can of colour coded paint. Body code is AA, colour is called "Peak White" and the Power Plus spray can code is "PK 2110" for the 350g can. :D

Very clean looking car. Congrats on 161kw :D
-
Thanks bud :hmm: I probably wont put it on. It was a little tricky to fit on and I want to keep this looking stock rock for now, maybe a sleeper :D

Started working on the front end of the seca so its ready to transfer over to the sedan. The bonnet has not had any attention to it for over a year and there was only 1 coat of etch prime on it so it was starting to rust up again. Here's a list of things i been doing in the last week 1. Washed the car down 2. Sanded it back 3. Touched up the bare metal spots with etch primer 4. Sprayed couple coats of 2pack undercoat 5. Sprayed black paint (guide coat) 6. Block sanded 7. Filled with stop putty 8. Touch up spray with etch prime where i sanded back to bare metal 9. Undercoated bonet with 2 pack 10. Guide coat again 11. Filled again 12. Touch up with undercoat Pics You can see just how many dents were on the bonet after i block sanded it

Made it home safely :hmm: What a great cruise, it was totally awesome! Jarrad, thank you so much for all your effort in planning this. It was great to see everyone again and will defiantly be bringing a corolla on the next one, the getz was way to small but we only used about $120 fuel for 1180kms :D

Me and Jess have to work so we'll be coming up tonight just before midnight with Andy and Sonya. See you guys up there!
