Thats the point, its not a 4AGE. :) I found one on ebay for like 150. so really looking for one should cost the same as a 4 or even 5k with the advantage of being a 2L crossflow. I'm not a big fan of Fords but a swap like this would be good bang for buck. Damn thinking has brought the SC i have into the equation :(

Hey guys, Just a thought, Whats everybodys opinions on fitting a 2L pinto engine out of an escort into a ke 20/30? I drove a MkII esky ghia for a few days with a 2L and aside from being auto it went pretty good. Id say 20's and 30's would possibly be lighter than the escorts. Anybody else had an idea like this?

Pretty sure it had 72 on the rego papers and 71 on the compliance plate. But yea, probably made early 72 with everything made in 71. Also thought ALL *E25's were made in Japland.

As said above, get yourself a 5spd (I told you where there are 2) and get a manual diff in there, thats what i'll be doing. don't worry bout what people say bout extra acceleration. All i seem to do is rev the shit out of it just to keep up.

Get the 3khead shaved and reconed. If you just want shits and giggles, stick a dished piston 5k head on the sucker. compression would be thru the roof and i wouldnt expect the engine to last to long.

Whats wrong with the timing chain? isnt the cam timed right?

Head will be coming off when the SC goes on, Will be sourcing another raditaor (possibly commo, like Jason did) and apart from the head to block coolant passages theres no other place it will seal up. and i can just pop then thru with a screw driver if they are gummed up. BUT, its a great product. I was just too lazy and left it in the system for WAYYYYYY to long :y: Stupid laziness

Spotted a Willowy green 55 just out of Gawler on the Lyndoch road, gave each other a wave :y: Spotted a ROOFLESS silver TA22 in the Main street of Williamstown KE20 heading up my street, gave each other a wave. apparantly a mate of a mate. definatly starting to think theres a real sence of community within corolla owners, and not just on Rollaclub.com. Last but not least, saw that another biker got cleaned up on gorge road this arvo. Scary thing was that i was on gorge road at about the same time. Plus i think i saw the group the guy was with as i pulled over waiting for some slow cars to get further ahead of me. Its the 3rd motorbike smash/fatality that ive seen in as many weeks on gorge rd alone :D
