I usually hesitate going fast past any new commodores / falcons with pursuit rims, but this had what appeared to be stock rims.. they are getting harder to pick these days....

Think it was just a 6, didn't really have that D Car feel about it, thats why I flogged past it..

Weirdest thing happened this afternoon on the highway on my way home, there was this grey AU falcon in front of me doing 100km/hr, ( In a 110km/hr Zone) when he finally made his mind up to change into the left lane I dropped back into 4th and nailed it past him, probably got up to like 120km/hr and when I looked in the rear vision mirror (In-between changing lanes) could see red and blue lights flashing from what seemed to be from under the front bar, My intitial thoughts were "f@$k, is that a D Car?" I slowed back down to the limit and it then drove past me and stayed in front of me for a while, Then a red Falcon and Commodore went flying past us both, The grey AU then sped up a bit and got in between the red falcon and the commodore, Then the red falcon took off a bit and the grey AU did the same thing with the lights, yet didn't pull anyone it over, to me they seemed to be egging people on so they could hit the lights? weird.. :D

I know a guy that used to hang fluffy dice off his rear vision mirror, he said to all the police officers it was a religious item, he refused to ever take them off..

Got an auto electrician chasing another one down for me at the moment, just waiting for him to call back..

One the way to work my electronic ignition packed it in while i was driving up the highway, just lost power and i pulled off to the side, tried to start it up again and the engine revs were all over the place, got under the bonnet for a quick look, fuel was in the filter and the fuel bowl on the carby was full, so i figured it must be something other than fuel, checked the throat of the carby and everything looked fine, tightened the plug leads down a bit and still no go when i fired it over, then i realised that it could possibly be the electronic ignition, put it back on to the normal points (plug to swap it over) and what do you know it purred over like a kitten.. *GRUMBLE* now in the market for another electronic ignition, hunt still going..

Damn, those bastards had a field day :P

I actually agree with the first quote more due to the fact they will repair the bar rio and paint it, then fit an exchange cover on it, also they will replace the indicator with an aftermarket one quote #2 wants to repair the bar rio and put the existing cover back on and just bodgily repair the corner where it was hit without painting and fit a second hand indicator light quote #3 wants to repair the bar rio and paint the bar cover (which will probably flake off in about a weeks time after being painted) and fit what seems for the price $100 to be a genuine? indicator or just loading the quote...

2nd quote = $220 3rd quote = $260 Seems everyones prices and parts are all over the place, gave them the 3 quotes this afternoon, now its time to sit back and wait for a call tomorrow.. The car that backed into me was a Holden Astra, $1600 damage to it, *OUCH* Yay for insurance..

Oh well, best to get it done properly now than to have rust break out later..

It had been working fine for years, but all of a sudden now its all over the place, weird.. seems to be very moody :P

Its best to look to nature when pressing bearings, try and use the origional ones if you can to keep physics on your side (sacrifice the old f@$kers not the new ones), or something thats not going to f@$k your bearings when your pressing them in.

Think my next plan is to rape the sender off my other block, then if that doesn't fix it change the temp guage unit out of my other dash cluster. Took it to nicks and back, still goes up but not as high as this afternoon, gave it a thrashing on the way back and it doesn't appear as though it wants to overheat.. weird :dry:

Very impressive work there Fook, wish I was as artistically talented, but unfortunatly I'm not. One of these days I'll get someone to caricarture my beast, I think I'll wait till my new wheels go on first though..

Sometimes its good to learn from your mistakes, but no matter what, working on cars you always learn new things, every time I work on my car I discover something new.. I'm now a semi qualified KE70 DIY expert..

Control arm bushes aren't that hard, trick is leave the control arm in the sun to get hot and expand and throw the bushes into the freezer for a few hours to contract and then press them in, worked a charm when I put nicks in :P also axle bearings aren't that hard either, I did my ones when I first got my car on the road, hardest part is getting them off, angle grind the outer casing off and then chizel the inner casing off (just be careful not to grind into where the bearing seats people). Few handy tricks i've been shown that have helped out.. Good to have people that are mechanically minded show you the tricks, its just a matter of picking them up.
