Managed to pick up a diff the other week for this, a T Series diff out of a T-18. Many thanks to Teddy for lendage of his troopy for transport! Also had the throttle cable bracket welded on to the balance linkage this afternoon.

Looks good. I need to come look at this all in person once you get it on its feet..

Finally today I got some time to come up and work on the car once again. Decided to start figuring out the twin carb linkage/balance setup. Managed to buy a set of brackets off Ebay a while ago. Started to modify them a bit and all I have to do now is to weld on an accelerator cable bracket from one of my old 4K carbs..

not possible to do with regular switches. find an aftermarket one on eBay.

park switch contacts are in the wiper motor itself. you could use any aftermarket wiper switch to drive it.

Dare say the car will bend before that mount :)

Today I finally got the mount all complete and it bolts up in to place perfect. Next step is to give it a coat of paint at work during the week. Hopefully start on the intake manifolds next..

Gauging Interest For Upright Manifolds For K Engines
Medicine_Man replied to philbey's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Already have a set :P -
During the week I got Geoff at work to weld up some angle for me. managed to drill out all the holes for the back but I didn't realise when I bolted it up in the dark last week how much of an angle it has to the front bolt holes. Looks like I Need to cut the 45 degree welds and angle it out a bit more. Will do that next week at work and tidy it up ready to drill the front bolt holes.

I figure I will Brace the sides using the extra holes at the front and angle it back to the centre. Also Angle plate the back of the crossmember for added strength..

Here is a Comparison of the Original T50 Rubber gearbox mount vs the modified version for upriting..

Recently I have had a change of jobs and a lot of other things life has thrown at me between so I have not had much time and lost motivation to work on the Corolla. But in recent weeks I have found my long lost motivation and am back up at the folks place working on the Corolla once again. Latest Project is to fabricate a new gearbox crossmember for it. Thanks to Chris & Tony I got their old modified rubber gearbox mount and T50 crossmember from their old rally car. I tidied up the welds on the rubber mount a bit where it was extended and gave it a fresh coat of black ready to go in. Alas! when I went to bolt up their T50 crossmember I found the hole spacing is different from Australian to Japanese. (Side to side of the tunnel gearbox mounts) Considering my options I figured it would be better to make my own mount then have to cut the factory T50 crossmember up and weld it all back together. I decided to mock up a template out of some alloy I found at work and then figure out how I am going to brace/reinforce the crossmember. Next is to find some mild steel plate to make it up out of..
