  1. Wow, Those flares should look awesome.. Good to see more progress
  2. But then you are adding more weight, Not really what you want in a rally car. Fuel cell in the boot under the parcel shelf will bring the weight over the axel too..
  3. If you are doing rally I would advise putting a fuel cell or tank in the boot..
  4. As much as I would like to be able to tune them myself, It is my only car and I can't afford to have it off the road. I had mine tuned by Recarb @ Kawana (Sunshine Coast). Really need to have individual vacuum ports in the intake manifold so I could balance them myself (Makes it a shitload easier to tune them with a vacuum guage). O2 sensor/guage would help tune the fuel, In the next carnation of my motor I want to have 4 x 02 bosses in the extractors so I can start learning to tune it...
  5. I wouldn't say every couple of months, Mabey 6-12 months.. Dellortos or any twincarb need to be kept in balance..
  6. He's from down the gold coast, Going to go down and give him a bit of a hand..
  7. Get a timing light on it and eliminate the timing first, Check your fuel filter isn't blocked, After that it pretty much comes back to an issue somewhere with the carbs (balance/mixtures etc).
  8. Could also be a lack of fuel.. Anything could happen all of a sudden, Are you trying to diagnose the problem or do you just want to guess?
  9. Timing? carbs could be out of balance?
  10. Just rock up at the correct time and they let you in the gate, We usually have a set meet point on the northside and all cruise there as a group..
  11. best way to test is to take the wire that goes to the sender to frame and see if you get full actuation of the dial.. (They work on resistance) If it stays half way there may be a short in the wire to frame somewhere, Otherwise it would be the sender..
  12. If you get genuine I am pretty sure they come with them..
  13. Thats what he said in the first post anyway?
  14. I know you can get new aftermarket rear lights for KE70, Should be able to get genuine still too..
  15. One piece shaft could be better balanced that the 2 piece is..
  16. Heater tap is circled in red Heater core in/out circled in blue..
  17. I think he means don't be afraid to skin your knuckles and get your hands dirty to find out why its not working..
  18. Oh, I just remembered, This event happens the exact weekend as rollaclubs birthday, We usually have a cruise at this time to celebrate.. (After ATD)..
  19. There is a place in victoria that does it..
  20. That one sounds more like the circlip let go in the solenoid and the contact went to frame causing a short in the main starter wire..
  21. Yes we will do, The last few years were f@$ked over due to renovations at said site.. looking foward to attending this year again..
  22. It is usually held on the queens birthday long weekend at acacia ridge toyota..
  23. I believe it is a popular misconception that you just whack it anywhere and magically it seems to work. I am a 1st (almost 2nd year) auto electrical apprentice and I have seem some shockers where people have hit them with the biggest hammer they can find. Have seen solenoids destroyed and field housings belted that in turn crack the permanent magents which float around inside and f@$k the armature.. I should really write up a diagnostic procedure for starter motors..
  24. Circled in red is where the brush assembly is housed..
