  1. I second Felix's's's's motion :ninja:
  2. I second what st.nick said..... WTF???
  3. Exercise helps. Whatever you're stressing about, try doing something to take your mind off it.
  4. F**k me! haha You're insane RB30 Boy. lol
  5. Wriggling the wheel usually works for Corolla's. :ninja: Been there, done that before.
  6. Yep, filler is on the right side. You'd have to somehow turn the tank around and then make a new filler neck to come up through the floor and sit behind the numberplate. I'd even go for a recessed filler and a fuel filler door on the car to give it the smooth lines still. Would look better than a great, big, dirty chrome fuel cap sitting there.
  7. I would if i wasnt busy plus i don't trust the rattly 4K sitting in my engine bay at the moment...... Someone else should be able to pick you up surely....
  8. I think the problem with that would be structural integrity, though you could probably work around it. In the panel van/station wagon, the fuel tank is also located under the car as well as the spare wheel, so theoretically if you could put both of them under the caryou could have a lot of bootspace for a stereo install. So cut out the floor of a station wagon in the rear and weld it into the floor of the sedan and problem/mounting points would be sold. Only issue is that on a panel van/station wagon, the fuel filler is located in the rear quarter panel. So a custom tank relocating the filler to the back of the car would have to be used anyway.
  9. My old wrecker I used to frequent had 3 sheep out in their wrecking yard. The theory is simple. Why mow the lawn when a cow or sheep can do it for you? You don't have to buy fuel or pay for repairs and you just give them water and they eat the grass. So they had 3 lawn-mooers there hey? lol
  10. My KE36 is running a Borg-warner and they were the most common diff's for KE30's and KE55's. The jap import models came with the Jap diff.
  11. I have an intermittent wiper assembly here. Shoudl slap it in the panel van and see if the intermittents do work or not :ninja:
  12. the engine in the corolla goes rattle rattle rattle, rattle rattle rattle, rattle rattle rattle, the engine in the corolla goes rattle rattle rattle, alllllllll dayyyyyyy longgggggg. W00t, post number 700! Ok. Replaced the rocker gear on the 4K with the rocker gear off my 3K and its a little quieter. Still a noisy little bitch. So my next question. How do I get the lifters out of the engine? What's everyone's methods?
  13. Winking doesnt allow it to fit! :ninja:
  14. Its don't think its a two piece. It think its a once piece but i'm not sure.. You'd need to get the tailshaft modified to suit and then get it balanced as well. I don't see it costing any more than $150 to modify your exisiting tailshaft.
  15. KA motor is non-turbo for a start as you pointed that out. A better better option would be to import a motor from a 180sx as opposed to the non-turbo 240sx. Less hassles in running a turbo then as the SR20DET is a strong turbo motor. Not sure about the 2.4L non turbo motor though as we never got them here in Australia as far as I know.
  16. 20v Head + 4AGZE block with stock bottom end + turbo manifold = 20v 4AGTE Ask faulksy about it. He has one and it will soon be fitted to his AE82 FX-GT :ninja:
  17. Raven replied to dawaris1's topic in General Mechanical
Wrong section to post in for a start. Look at converting to Twin-cam AE82 rear brakes. They're a disc set-up.
  18. Nice pics. Need some of the cars coming around other corners though :faq:
  19. Engine Search around the site for V8 conversions. If you want to keep it so it will handle, consider loking into doing a Turbo conversion. A few people have done the CA18DET conversion, others do the 4AGZE conversion, others throw in a 1GGZE and then they remove the supercharger and slap on a custom exhaust manifold to accept a turbo. Be prepared that this will cost you a pretty penny, so first off, work out a budget. Diff These corolla's don't come with a LSD as an option from the factory either so you either have to shorten a LSD down, get leaf spring mounts welded to it and bolt that up, which will then also require a custom tailshaft to accept the new diff or you get a TA22 celica diff, weld mounts to it and bolt that up, modify the tailshaft if need be to accept that diff's yoke and there you go. Gearbox But as with all these mods, you're going to want to change the gearbox. Plenty of options out there, being auto or manual. I've noticed that the most widely used gearbox for manual conversions is the w5x series gearbox that came out in Supra's. Not sure on mounting up one of these bad boy's but you may require a custom gearbox mount to get it to bolt to the chassis rails and possible widening of the transmission tunnel to fit the gearbox in there. Engine Mounting Also engine mounting will need to be looked at, mainly cutting the original mounts up and making some custom ones to weld onto it to suit the engine you're putting in. The people that go the 4AGE/4AGZE route usually use escort/cortina engine mounts or they get a set of RWD AE86/AE71 engine mounts and shorten one side or if they don't do that they cut the original mounts off the engine cross-member and weld them into the right spots. Brakes/Suspension/Steering Search around the forum for brake conversions on a KE30, KE55 as thats what you'll ultimately be after. Also included in this section would be the lower control arms or adjustable strut tops, as these car's have no adjustment for camber. Look around for that too. Thats as much information as I can give you about that. Exhaust Exhaust will also have to be custom and if you want this car to be street registered, you'll have to get it engineered. ECU/Fuelling An engine management system will also have to be looked at. Something aftermarket if you're going the turbo route will be the way to go. You'll also need to modify the existing fuel tank so you can run EFI on these cars, along with a fuel return line going back to the tank as these cars don't have them from what I recall. Good luck and Welcome to Rollaclub! If I've missed anything, someone should be able top fill you in. :faq:
  20. Yup, the later model KE55's had swaybars. :faq:
  21. Its got the 4K head on it. I havent touched the head yet. The 3K head is still sitting on the old motor, plus is there really that much of a design difference between both heads? I thought the only difference between the motors is the size of the bore?
  22. Blue fog lights would just be driving lights wouldnt they?
  23. Another update..... After felix's response, I decided to strip the rocker gear off my 3K head and will fit it to the 4K head tomorrow. I'll end up sourcing another inlet manifold at some point and get some headwork done to the 3K head and put that on the 4K block. Then I'll do the carb and extractors. :faq:
  24. Racing stripes make it go faster :faq:
  25. Mr Hardware: You have a KE55E cos you ahve the wrap-around bumpers. I'm pretty sure the KE55E was only made in 1981, but i could be wrong and it may include 1980 as well. What year is your car? And were those bumpers fitted from the factory?
