Yep. She just wont start up. Just cranks over and thats it....

A good way to learn is to have someone who knows what they're doing mechanical-wise and get them to watch over you. OR You do what i did and mess around, make mistakes and learn from them. Nice car by the way. Very very clean :monkey:

I tried again today and the battery is now flat, so I gotta wait for it to charge up again *sigh*

Got Takumi-wannabe? :monkey:

List the following and issue a statement to the police Area, date, time, which way he was travelling, which way the honda was travelling. Draw a map of how the incident happened, list the speed humps, stop sign etc etc and get to the police about it. Description of the occupants in the car will help police with their inquiries as well.

can't actually see any visible signs of oil anywhere on the engine. All i know is its leaking onto the crossmember and then pooling on the floor under the car.... As for spark and fuel, i have both of those.... Compression check I can't do cos I don't have anything to check it with :monkey:

I've put a 4K into the KE36. Problem 1 - it will crank over but wont start - Car is getting fuel, spark plug leads are in the right firing order, it is getting spark. Problem 2 - I have a steady stream of oil pissing out from somewhere. I've i can't get it going i'm really tempted to sell it off..... So can someone please shed some light onto why it wont run? Cheers Mick

Engine Swap and Install Pics *Thats Mr. Faulksy in those pics giving me a hand too* Well, I got the 4K in, bolted everything back together and it wont start. Don't ask me if I've checked the order of the leads and made sure Piston 1 is at TDC, because I've checked all that. AND To top it all off its pissing oil out of an unknown location. Who wants a freakin' panel van?

Engine Removal Pics Good ol' ROL-110 was awesome enough to sell me a short motor fairly cheaply. So when I pick that up tomorrow, I'll fix a few gaskets and then pop the engine back in. So here's a few engine removal pics after 30 mins work.

*Update 4* Started running on 3 cylinders today whe i started it. Got the car home, pulled the rocker cover off and i'd bent a pushrod pretty bad and it sorta wasnt sitting under the rocker arm anymore :P Straightened it up, put it back in, adjusted everything and its still running on 3 cylinders. So all in all, i reckon i've either cracked a piston or bent a valve, cos the valve aint returning to the proper height.....

The hubbies arent 100% straight. Well, 1 or 2 of them arent. Havent really looked. I may be sourcing a set of rims for it in the near future, so u never know, those hubcaps might end up being for sale.

I know someone that is currently designing a turbo manifold that will bolt up to both 16v and 20v 4AGE's. Once i ehar more from him, I'll let you alllllllll know about it.
-
Yeah its coming along slowly. Sucks not working though to be able to fund the 4AGZE conversion I wanna do to it and the T-series LSD :lmao:
-
You'd need a T50 gearbox to bolt up to a 4AGE anyway, unless you went out and got a bellhousing that will adapt a W5x series gearbox from a Supra. Go the 5k and get that going hard with a set of side-draft weber carbs. That way you don't have the hassle of wiring up an engine and adding a lift pump and surge tank etc etc to your current fuel system to get EFI to work on the car.

*Update 3* * Changed the seats to KE35 items * Recarpeted the back * Gave the car a dorifto-spec matt black bonnet * Put new numberplates on it cos the old ones were kinda shot and illegal * Added Shelf under dash in the passenger side Thats about it. Here's some pics!

A week's notice would've been great, that way I would've had fuel money put aside to attend. Oh well, betterluck next time for me hey :lmao:
-
Thats gonna be one scary car once the spark issues are sorted haha. I expect to see an in-car recorded video of you going thru the gears :)
-
Ooer, yes that is sexy. I've seen a few of those at the wreckers.....

To swap in an engine that puts out moer power e.g. 4AGZE into a KE30 you'd be looking at a lane change test, torsion test, emissions test, brake upgrade, chassis strangthening. Worked out that if most of the work was done yourself, you'd get away with $1200 to get it engineered here in Adelaide.
