  1. Good luck! You're doing so well so far :jamie:
  2. I don't do burnouts... Stop making me want to show you up lol :jamie: If you're no longer a Corolla enthusiast aren't you the dull one for still being on RC!
  3. Done :hmm: haha.. we need a one of the big signs saying "RollaClub" as if waiting at the airport for our arrivals :jamie:
  4. Yea lol.. Looks like a beast from the front :jamie:
  5. Karma is your friend lol
  6. Grimus I believe is correct spelling :hmm: Unless they wanted the "a" there for some reason. I have a "Grimus" sticker on the back of my wagon :P
  7. Me, maybe Pat. I take it you and Tom are coming along?
  8. Have taken one off my wagon for now, which has a heat shielded starter. If it breaks I'll go the distance and buy a brand newie or if one comes up for cheap enough a gear reduction starter!
  9. Where can I get them? Did anything have them stock that will bolt up to replace mine (so I can grab one from wreckers) Need something for a quick fix too cos I have work :worship:
  10. Hi Everyone! My friend owns a Daihatsu Rocky with the Toyota 3Y motor and a couple of days ago it was driven through a puddle just under a metre deep (would have only been touching sump area, though) and ever since it has lost all of it's torque and pulling power. It will rev up fine, although backfires a little bit when it's decelerating. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this? My friend claims to have cleaned under and around the dizzy cap! Cheers
  11. The NRMA starter motor came off my 4k... It was put on brand new on that, but not since I owned the car so I have no idea how long it would have been on the 4k! I'm certain the solenoid was the problem on it. What would be the cause of it breaking, though? In the tech area it says that they heat up quite badly because of the exhaust! I tried swapping the solenoid with another one, but the stupid designer bolted it down with phillips head screws that are too tight to undo. :worship:
  12. Hi everyone. I have a 5k in my KE70 and I've broken two starter motors in the last 4 or 5 months - however long I've had the 5k in! It seems that the one that most recently broke down was due to the solenoid. It was an NRMA replacement item, so I wouldn't have expected it to break! (It wasn't brand new, but was on a guess less than 70,000k's fresh and was in good working order). 1. What possible causes could there be to the starter motor's breaking? 2. Is it just a common thing for starter motor's to break on K motors? 3. Best/cheapest options to fix! - brand newie (cost?), 2nd handy from wreckers (cost?), recondition? 4. Any experiences people have had. 5. Motor could be fairly high compression (I have no idea) - could this break the starter?
  13. Where will the meeting point be for everyone once you guys get to ACT?
  14. Once again, nothing is wrong with it. Since you've mentioned it, I've realised that I have never done a (standstill) burnout with my 5k. My 4k could do it for about 3 seconds on a dry road and about 5 seconds more on a wet road. Pretty sure mine goes better than your one :jamie:
  15. I 3rd? 4th? that! They can handle quite well being only a light car. Obviously it's not a skyline GTR on rails, but it does the job quite well for a stock car! Good luck on finding your next project and I hope you take care of it :jamie:
  16. Hrmm.. Not that I have a T-18 to do this conversion in, but do engine mounts/crossmember need to be modded for this?
  17. Well as of today you have 6 days to get Daisy registered to come on the next cruise! Sydney boys are coming down for a pretty big cruise to the capital. If you don't have it registered you should come along and meet the rest of Canberra RC.
  18. Hahaha..There wasn't anything wrong with my car! We took the float chamber cover off and took the jets out to find a grain of sand in the primary jet after some off road action!
  19. Ahahaha... :lolcry:
  20. Ahhaha.. funny story. After I had finished polishing my whole car and it was looking awesome I drove to my friends house and as soon as I hop out of the car a currawong takes a crap ALL over my bonnet. It was a massive shit too. Sprayed all up my windscreen, over the bonnet etc. I'd imagine it being close to atleast half a litre of crap!
  21. No idea who won, mate... I left after the news of the burnout comp being canned! Apparently it was a few whingey folks up in the hills that decided to ruin the car show by complaining about the smoke. 1 Weekend of the year. Was some sweet cars there, though. EZE10's KE20, Schmicko KE10, KE30 and KE35! Still not enough there, though :P Were you there, Chappo?
  22. Yea, just start it as if you would normally... Might be a good idea to do a service (oil change/filters/coolant) if you haven't for a while - they always help.
  23. Nice work... You remember my red KE70 out the front of Pat's house when you picked up your wheels? I polished my whole car, polished wheels, tyre-shined all of the outside plastics, even metal polished all of the small chrome bits outside! I hope it stays clean till then :D
  24. haha, didn't realise it was fathers day... you got another Rolla yet, Matty?
  25. Lookin good, Tommo! Did you give them an extra polish? Pat said he only gave them a quick job! Lookin forward to the cruise this weekend.. The car is running fantastic :osama:
