  1. If that 8L/100km is in te city streets you're doing very well my friend! If you were to get a 4/5spd conversion I'm sure that you would be able to get a bit better economy on the highway too, since you have to constantly have the engine revving at a higher speed with the toyoglide to keep up speed. Otherwise, 8l/100km is brilliant.
  2. Well... Today was a fun day for seeing Corolla's! 1. Was taking my head to Phillip head services for reco when this absolutely amazing looking KE35 was out the front. White with grey airbrushed flames on the front with skulls and other cool things in the flames. Apparently it only has a 4k in it :P 2. On way home from Phillip head services decided I'd go check in on the original spec KE20 in ""unknown"" location. It's still there. This time I left a note and got an answer from the neighbor and said that she is usually there after 5pm and need to knock REALLY loudly but would be reluctant to sell the car. 3. Still on way home from Phillip head services had to check in at SupaBarn to get some groceries and noticed a pretty clean-looking KE36 out the front of BP Mechanic in Wanniassa! Also spotted a cool Datsun 1600 out front of PHS, a hektyk AE9x Rolla with bonnet scoop and primer colour guards on Athlon Dr, and all of the awesome Rolla's out the front of my house :P
  3. but surely I hope :P
  4. Finally joined, aye! Welcome, Tommo!
  5. You can never have too many cars! Speaking of too many cars. My collection is going to halve in the next few days. My Buy it Now price of $280 for the 2x Ke20'swas snapped up within about 2 days of my eBay ad going up! Will be sad to see them go, but is for the best! I hope I can get another KE2x sometime soon. How is the 10 going anyway?!
  6. 4AGE will be cheaper and probably a bit less of a hassle than modifying a 4AFE. As far as I know, take your 4AFE out and bolt a 4AGE in!
  7. I liked the old rims better :y: Looks good mate :)
  8. I'd have thought you'd be straight into that, Sammo! Seeing as you've already got a KE10 you're doing up :) As for my Rolla, I blew the head gasket (or worse cracked head) about a week ago now and will hopefully be taking it off tomorrow to get it reco'd by phillip head services. I really want to rebuild the whole 5k! Might chuck the old 4k back in and do it like I should have in the first place before I put it in.
  9. You've got 3 weeks! Stop making excuses :)
  10. Hey Kebin! I'd be thrilled to come along. We'll be having our first Canberra meet in a long time a week prior to your event and we'll be heading out to the Cotter, which is sort of a camping, 4wd'ing, family outdoorsy place and we'll see how it goes. It should be a pretty good backdrop for a Rolla meet (and good cruise spot), although we could do a city run past parliament house, Australian war memorial, lake Burley Griffin, etc. Will keep you posted!
  11. There's no 1 word/sentence answer on "The Answer To Put A 7k Into a KE20!" It takes work, figuring things out for yourself etc. The things that need to be done are (from what I've read) the sump needs to be modified (how you'll need to figure out for yourself as it has to sit over your crossmember). If you're keeping the standard K gearbox, you'll want to fit a 3/4/5k flywheel and clutch to it so it can fit inside the bellhousing of your gearbox. I think you'll need to do something with the engine mounts too! Someone else might know what to do with that.... BUT the best way to get an answer is research it yourself, use the search button up top "7k KE20" or "7k" by itself may give you a wider field. Get to work :) EDIT: If you haven't already got a 7k motor, I'd suggest putting a 5k in. MUCH easier!
  12. I laughed at the JDM comment. Torana much - I really like it! Good luck with the 5k build. As for pistons, I'm not sure what to go with, but a solid lifter conversion is a must! There's a thread in FAQ's about it. Will be a very nice machine with the charged 5k :P Cheers, Vince
  13. I have to say that I would almost fall over if I saw a car looking like this go as fast as it probably can. It's pretty damn sweet having a 4agze in a grandma looking FWD car. Totally beats the hell out of the KExx sleeper effect. Grats on a cool car!
  14. Might be a bit different buying V8 gear from America for obvious reasons. Depends where you look too.
  15. I'd rather spend an extra few dollars to support Australian business anyway. :P
  16. You may be forgetting that the one on eBay is in US dollars. At the moment it is about 80 US cents per 1 Australian Dollar. $300 + 20% = $360 AUD (then you need to pay shipping). = Not worth it :P If you were to buy your own weber, you could buy one in quite poor to average condition for no more than $50-100. Just recently I got a quote from a carb specialist to completely recondition a 32/36 for $200 and jetted/choked to suit! $50-100 + $200 + $50 = $300-350 AUD = Worth it! :rolls: EDIT: Adapter plate costs new about $40-$50 or 2nd hand can find them for about $10-$30!
  17. I don't see anything wrong with that!
  18. Yea.. it looks like it. Has "AXE" motorsport on the sides.
  19. I hope my unreliable KE70 will be reliable enough to take the trip. Has been having LOTS of annoying problems lately but I hopefully should have them all (mostly) sorted by then. :lolcry: 11 sounds good to me.
  20. I'd eat dinner off the dirtiest part of that car!
  21. I second that! I bought a KE20 off a bloke who had put in a really worked 5k motor. Oh what a feeling :lolcry:
  22. If they are to fit any other K series motor then YES!
  23. Tread obviously, maybe shocks contribute. Some roads are also just incredibly stupidly and dangerously slippery.
  24. I vote RA28GT's KE20 :hmm: Do I "need" to post a pic? Pretty sure everyone's seen it :)
  25. Is that supposed to be KE20/KE26?
