  1. very nice wheels. Was reading in this topic i think about pulling apart a 3 piece rim and buying a wider middle section, did you do that for these? Also are there any common 3 peice wheels you could pick up a set of cheap, and where do you get the middle bits? Thanks
  2. since you have already gone to the trouble, i would definately hold out for a 5 speed box. Got a 4spd in my ke30, its pretty annoying on the highway, but i guess depends where you drive it most.. Otherwise nice clean looking car
  3. I was going to say that car looked a little familiar, nice work on the youtube vid, came across it the other day. I like what you've done with the grill, in the process of doing something similar with mine as it was missing some of its teeth. What did you use for the mesh part/ how did you put it together?
  4. yeh, from the pic it doesnt look like they have much dish (so that would mean the have a - offset?) The style seems a bit questionable too, but for $50 they should be usefull for something
  5. So my dad has just won these wheels from an ebay auction. (from the listing) 2 - 16x7 2 - 16x8 4 x 114.3 pcd Suits Silvia or similar Light weight aluminium 2 piece racing wheels Mclaren international brand Very good condition Hopefully a picture is below. Has anyone seen/ had these wheels before? How easy to find/ expensive would tyres be for these size wheels? (to go on a ke55) Thanks
  6. will you be putting the black stripe back on it after paitning? if so let me know how it goes, I'm thinking of doing the same.
  7. Its amazing how some good quality photos can make a car look so good. really nice, and the wheels look great
  8. I like the idea  The only suggestions i would make are have the cars large enough to fit maybe 4 or 5 across.. would certainly alleviate the problem of not being able to see them. Also it might become change depending on how many side on photos can be collected. I don't know about a yearly thing but i would be interested at least in a one off run if they came in at around $15?? Also, i would rather have a poster dedicated to RWD corollas, i know that probably wont go down well with some people but just my preference.
  9. do you mind me asking how much the gearbox was from Dellow? Did it get shipped from Sydney?

    Spotted Qld

Spotted a blue ke35/55 hardtop going around the square road thing near the arts museum at UQ around 1pm today, anyone on here? First time ive seen one in the flesh apart from my own, it was nice :) EDIT: had a 55 bonnet i think
  13. looking nice. What gen motor is that? what gearbox?
  14. Thanks for that info, its good to know that i can use the one key. Does anyone have suggestions on imobilisers or alarms?
  15. i just had a few questions on keys/ locks/ imobilisers for anyone who knows: My ke55 never had a boot lock, and it doesnt have any keys, ive heard i can get a key made to suit the lock(/ignition) but if i got another boot lock, can that be altered to work with the new key? Or is the only way to have the one key work for everything to transplant door + ignition + boot locks from another car? Would a set of solex locks be the way to go? from a quick google i have heard both positive and negative things about them but if you have used them let me know your opinion. Also i was just looking for any general comments or suggestions regarding the security of cars. eg. imobiliser? Alarm? What you are running and consider nescessary etc. Thanks
  16. Sorry didnt get the sun roofs with the gear. Got alot of other crap though
  17. Yep there is definately a bend in mine, easily noticable, and I'm guessing quite hard to replicate. Perhaps the KE55 sedan and hardtop have different parcel shelves? Ill see if i can get away with using a straigh peice, if it worked for you then it shuold for me.
  18. ah yeh i figured i would have to use mdf, i guess i was wondering how to put the bend in it, but i gues ill just skip that step for simplicity. Luckily i still ahve the old one, its only slightly falling to peices. I wouldn't mid seeing a pic of yours when you get some carpet on and get it in with speakers, or picks of anyone elses redone parcel shelf.
  19. don't think i have come accross that one yet... ill definately have a look when i get home thanks spot on, i was lucky (perhaps?) to pick up complete running gear from 2X st162 (from what i was told) celicas (one engine had damage, the other one is hopefully fine) for $300. don't know about that... what is the advantage of an LSD over whatever kind of diff is in their at the moment (excuse my ignorance)? but again i was lucky to have a tarago lyinng around. I'm using the gearbox, bellhousing, and rear axle things. (+ rear suspension). gearbox might be a bit weird (g52 from what i have researched) but its free and it fits so i can live with that. Thanks for the comments
  20. Hey everyone Had this one lying around and recentyl decided to fix it up. But everyone hates reading so here are some pics: Does this pic make it look more rounded at the back? interior has seen better days thats for sure The old... The new Unfortunately all of the seat are pretty bad. might try to get them re trimmed at some stage... will they look under a set of seat covers for rego? random corolla but i thouhgt it was an nice pic ke55 diff v tarago diff/ axle which ends up being about 60 mm longer overall i think Questions comments always appreciated Thanks guys
  21. Hey did you make the parcel shelf yourself? out of what? Could you post up some pics and details? mine fell to pieces... Thanks :P
  22. My ke55 says " Colour/ trim AG TS-FP " Would that mean the paint is "AG" and the trim is "TS-FP", and is this the same format for all ke55/3x corollas?
  23. Thanks for the reply  yep the car is just going to be my daily, so I shouldn't be doing too much extreme driving. Just as long as its not unbearable, and at least now I can always put in a W5x box when I get my hands on one. I'm not too sure about the strength of the G series boxes, but I'm going to assume that they are pretty decent and can handle anything a gen 1 3sge can throw at it and some.
  24. as the title suggests i am trying to get a 3sge (gen 1, from st162 celica) into a ke55, and i was thinking of trying a tarago gearbox. The tarago is a 1985 model, has a 2c diesel engine and perhaps a g52 box? (i can't confirm this but the second gear ratio is 2.333, and going by this list http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/pit/997.../Gearboxes.html the only 5 speed with that is g52, though I'm happy to be corrected). So far the bellhousing that came with the 2c has bolted up to the 3sge (the flywheel from the st162 is a bit thinner then the one off the tarago, I'm currently cutting the front of the bellhousing back so it will work hopefully) But technical issues aside, i wanted to know if using a box from a diesel van would ever work in this setup (the first 3 gear ratios are a bit higher then that off say a w55 box. i have read that a w55 box would be ideal) Any ideas/ comments are appreciated, I'm not sure if anyone has really dealt with tarago gearboxes before, but i also know they are some knowledgeable people on rollaclub so its worth a shot. thanks Jade
