1 tooth is 20 degrees. more than enough to cause it to run like shit. a good trick of mine is when trying to get the oil pump slot lined up with the dissy. get some one to crank the engine while pushing the dissy down. works a TREAT. recheck timing and repeat. make sure you put the bolt that holds the dissy down before revving the engine.

very worked 4k and 5 speed. 10 - 12L per 100km i got it down to 7L/100km. that was on a mega lean set up.

the switch shouldnt have power going to it. it earths out when open and the ligh comes on. remove the switch and touch it the body. light should work. getting 12v to the globe?

the wiring goes thru the drivers A pillar. could be the bullet connects have come loose. also check your door light switches

threebond is the BOMB! after 5 sump gaskets on 2 k motors i also found removing all the studs and using bolts and washers also help just don't over tighten them!
