  5. i don't wish that i hadnt put the bigport on my motor.....as nick said in an earlier post tonight, they are better for forced induction cause of the bigger ports. just that if i stayed with the 5k or 4k head, i prolly wouldnt have had the ongoing problem with my valve stem seals.......i don't regret doing it.....cause its taught me to do things right the first time.

  8. test for Ignition Output: Hold medium wrench in one hand, Sears wrench preferred for accuracy of test 'cause other smooth wrenches are too slick for throwin'! With engine running', grab hold of the plug end of an ignition cable with the other hand and hold on tight! This will more than likely cause you to throw wrench! KV output is based on how far the wrench wuz thrown! 10 feet = approx. 10,000 volts 20 feet = approx. 15,000 volts 30 feet = approx. 25,000 volts Over 30 feet = Caution! Must be one of them new dis-is-it ignition systems, use bigger wrench and retest. Electricity will not usually hurt you, instead it is the back of your neck going through the hood latch that really ruins your day!! BWAHAHAHAHA........

  12. Autogauge are another one. Made by Autometer, i have an EL oil gauge atm and its great.....better than the shitty one i bought from autobarn. go electrical, easier to setup i think. and better than mech. you can find some autogauges on ebay if you look.
  13. i'm running a 411 lift cam, and i don't have double valve springs and have never hit valve bounce (its gone over 8200). so i don't really reckon you need them..... i actually agree with jamie on this.....bigports are overrated.
  14. i once got the two mixed up and was supposed to be heading to willowbank.......lets just say that it was just before marburg i relised that i was going the wrong way.....lucky i didnt have to go right back to the jundtion and found a shortcut.

  16. the lifters in my engine are Chev lifters. just match the size with the original one.

  18. yes....the 5K does have hydro lifters, HOWEVER. you can change them quite easily to solid using holden 6 lifters, you will need to change the rocker gear over to 4K (so you can adjust them), and probably sort out some shorter pushrods. i ended up using datsun a 12 pushrods, that was with my 3k bigport head. 5K Engine Transplant thats my engine that is currently in the car atm.....more to be done on it yet. Z|gen: yeah mate that would be great if you could get a couple.....i'm about to start experimenting.

  20. hehehe.... they did that to me too......bloody fireman cutting up a perfectly good corona shell..,we actually asked if we could take parts.....they said if we wanted them we could take them but only if we could carry them....DoH!
  21. justin is correct. also, you can get different 4k pistons to change te compression ratio. but yes.....only the 3K heads were bigport 3k and 4k are interchangable with most parts. if you find a 3K bigport make sure to change the valves over to 4k ones, other wise you will probably have seal issues.
