JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Clarion stay away from all supercheap stuff unless it has those brand names, i've been noticing they have been getting quite a few more brands into their stores. if you want mp3 and only have $200, as nick said you'd be wanting to have a look in cashies.....but most of them don't come with the warranty if you install it yourself. however, if you spend just a little more.....for $250 you could prolly get the base model of the pioneer range in MP3 players, Brand new, with a 1 year warranty. and if you don't have the extra $50......tell whoever is giving you the gift to just give you the money and save up and then buy it.....cause anything you buy that is cheap in car audio will sound crap...and then when you can actually afford the good stuff you'll wonder why you didnt just buy it in the first place....i know from experience.

i wonder what wayno could do for my rear gaurds.......i have no idea how to go about fixing them again.
-
thats what i have over my subs in the boot.....works wonders.....and better than putting something thats going to bend (perspex? what the hell are you thinking boy!) over them. you can pick them up from jaycar for about $9 a pop, with mounting hardware and screws. btw heres a picture of my subs and custom box when i finally covered it ages ago. mmmm pretty.
-
hahahaha........ quote of the week..... teddy.....your harsh.......but very funny
-
now if i read that right......you want to mount the 5x7s protruding into the boot......with the sub.....booming away. if i was you....i wouldnt do that unless you want to replace your 5x7s every couple of years...... ok....basically with the sub booming away in the boot (its probably not as bad as 2 12's) your 5x7s will be getting the pressure from the sub pushing up against the back of the 5x7s. my suggestion would be to either box the 5x7s up.....or mount them in the rear doors......up to you really.....

doug: yes.....mad i am.....but i got most of my hoarding skills from dad.....reason being is that he has an old 65 HD holden ute.....so he needs spare parts as well......and i just started my collection and basically have more stuff than him now......thats a little worrying. the "i'll use it one day" is my motto too.....and has saved me a bit of money.....my hand brake cable in the blue beast is about to go TWANG! so i'll have to take the one out of the blue car out the back......i love having spares
-
thats only about a 1/4 of my collection.......the other wall of the shed is filled with 3k/4k/13t motors, including but not limited to, 4 or 5 gearboxes, about 4 or 5 diffs, the only thing i don't really have much of is suspension parts. not to mention theres still a wagon out the back ready to be emptied as well....... i'd say we'd prolly have about the same.....
-
meh......no competiton with my sc14 bolted to the side of mine.....hehehe.... nice engine though should go hard......mines getting more head work done after i start getting some money back into the bank. after that or before.....i'm currently in the process of scorcing a R31 skyline diff, to be shortened....i already have one on hold.......just gotta get around to picking it up. electronic distributor on its way after dyno and tune.
-
hey......teddy you actually do listen to me ramble on. lol teddy is right with the 5k dipstick having a bend in it.....the reason for the bend is so that you could get to it from the cab in the liteace vans. basically i think you had to pull the seat up/ take engine cover off and there it was..... it was only the other day i was thinking about changing the dipstick in my 5K, because i'm sick of having to try and get the dipstick back around the curve in the shaft. i've got a couple of 4k dipsticks around.....i'll measure them and the difference between the 5K one and i'll get back to ya. btw where are you? would like to hear about your engine too....and whats been done to it
-
thats cause i have most of them.......hahahahaha... very true fook....
-
hey, junior..... i'm currently considering sorcing a R31 diff for my car.....is there any chance you could maybe hook me up with one thats already shortened.....if not, could you maybe point me in the direction i might find one for cheap?
-
very true.....you have valid points there. however most of my stuff is spares for my car so i don't have to go to the wreckers to buy them. the parts that i have atm have paid for themselves about 3 times over.
-
btw.....i got mine before christmas. thanks matt..... job well done mate...they look great!
-
maybe toyota might take the hint they can actually make money off them again, and bring out a RWD Smallish race car. or start production on them again. we can only hope.
-
i also love watching the weather........its so cool...
-
ok.....but how would you get it down to tassie.....thats where you are is it not?
-
well.....over the past couple of years (about 5) i've been collecting corolla parts. As some of you have been in my backyard its not that big. Now i have 2 wrecks in the backyard.....one of them (first photo) has been FULL of parts for the past 12 months cause i brought home a lot of parts from a friend that was cleaning out his shed. Dad and i have only just gotten around to bulding a shed out the back big enough (not big enough to need council approval) to house the parts. My dad also has parts for his ute (1965 Holden HD) but most of them are under the house. Anyway this afternoon teddy and i decided that we would start to clean the car out. the second picture was before we started, i'd already started during the week and had a bit in there.......third picture is after we finished.....btw that filing cabinet ais chockas full of stuff. do you guys reckon i've got too much stuff?......don't be afraid not to come around and ask me if i have something.....i'm sure i will.....hehehehe
