  1. a wicked job of f@$king shit up why did you use it? how much the mx5 box weigh? I'm dreading doing my 200kg patrol gbox clutch
  2. thats good to hear, top work mungi, good to see there are some people who just like to help out :y:
  3. is that bolt or weld in? thats a fair price. when its something like a cage, the money is in the pipe and the time, the cheap bastards are cheap for a reason :y:
  4. yours is ok, coz you can't really see its a cannon...
  5. don't f@$king do it... what car is it??
  6. lol yeah this gets used for drilling 14mm diameter holes 150mm deep in concrete slabs. usually 50 - 100 or more per job. 1 job a week minimum. this ones a bosch one. shits all over the makita one. i have an aldi special, cost me 50 bucks, better than makita, nearly as good as bosch. not user friendly though, come out with a sore hand after 100 holes, the bosch one is brilliant for the user, hardly any vibration at the handle and sooo fast at going down, without excessive speed so the drill stays as cool as possible. might have to look into this ROK brand. maybe tomorrow. past my bedtime.
  7. hmm, i actually have a whinge to add to this thread. unusual, usually I'm jibberjabering...like now so anyway, got this rotary hammer drill, f@$kin awesome one at that. $685 new. its a few years old and having an issue when you load it up, the drill bit jams and the motor keeps running and it makes a ticking noise as if somethings slipping. so first off take it into usual tool guy. about 2 months later get a call...i just found your drill, what was wrong with it? explain, ok, ill get it looked at. get a call about 2 months later, we can't find anything wrong with it, we had a look, must be the type of drill your using, here, try these ones. nope, still f@$ked. so it sits in the trailer a couple more months. finally december last year, take it to tradetools. oh no, can't take it here, gotta go to springwood, from yatala. alrght. so i go there. try and explain the issue, seems the dickhead isnt listening, not writing what I'm saying on the job card. so i give up and tell him to make sure the techs test it, identify the issue, and rectify that. and yes i want a quote before you do any work. so about a month later. hi, your rotary hammer drill is ready to pick up. wtf, how much? i asked for a quote. oh well its done... 248 dollars :D   :sob: f@$king what... so about 2 months later, ie, monday, i go in and say gday, i here you ahve my drill. pulls it up, oh yes here you go. so i try argue the point of not getting quoted... well we can pull out the parts we put in it... what did you do? a service kit. whats included in that, don't know, techs have gone home, sorry. that will be 248. blah i say. did you test it, its fixed? I'm not paying this for it to do the same thing. oh yes sir, we normally test them before it gets sent back out. ok, better be. get it on site the next day, first hole try and drill, same issue, and then the end falls off the f@$king thing! take it back. oh, that bits meant to come off. yes, i know, but it hasnt come off in the past how many years of use, and now its falls off after your magic fingers have f@$ked it, and it still has the same issue as before. wellll no techs here, no manager. have to ring u in the morning. so i get the call this morning. hi,we tested it, we now see what its doing. oh goody i say. theres a very worn main shaft, and the fitting it goes into, both need replacing, and the sticky trigger means the whatever whatever will need replacing. all that plus the service already done will be over $500 :o :o :o :o why didnt you pick this up first time? umm, don't know, that tech is now retired so we can't ask him... best we can do is refund you for what we have done and leave it at that. so after all that, I'm left with a still f@$ked drill. that really only needs a main shaft and fitting thingy. so I'm 8 months down, several trips back and forward. and theyve replaced a few orings and greased a few things pointlessly... atleast the problem is now identified so i can take it somewhere else and get them to fix the sole problem with the drill, the worn shaft. so yes, thats my little spat. why is it so hard for people to do what you ask and test something before and after they fix it, to know what theyre fixing?
  8. lol, yeah man, engine stands are so cheap, not worth borrowing one. just make sure it has 4 wheels, the old 3 wheel ones fall over with a big motor on them...woops id say the 5k is fairly rooted. heres hoping its not, but i reckon that it is...pull it down and have a look. maybe it blew a headgasket at the same time too and just hydro-locked... all guess work til you open it up. i have a parts motor you could ahve the pump off etc if you wanted, or the whole thing for cheap if you wanted, its just in my way and i can't be bothered pullign it apart to sell for scrap, although seeing whats wrong with it would be interesting, just no time.. just PM if you wanna make an offer, if not ill just keep floggin it round the yard every now and then for a bit longer :D
  9. whats cheap? ive got a very healthy 4k mated to a 4speed in a wagon that i don't really need. best 4k ive driven, apparently fresh rebuild, feels like it too, and the fuel economy of just under 7L/100km kicks arse :D I'm open to offers... id say you either lost all the oil, or the pump blew its own arse out. or the pressure relief valve got a bit lazy and stopped holding any pressure. causing it to get hot very quickly and seize...
  10. lol, shame to hear. what happened to the 5k exactly. 4k swaps are easy :P good job on getting it all done and running in a day though :( nice looking car from the distance i saw it :y:
  11. i saw this parked on the service road a bit down from syds pie factory on saturday, thought it may ahve been flogged, looked like it had been dumped haha. had to go searching for the ride thread to see what was going on. was it running, or did you push it there? :lolcry:
  12. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=28267 interesting.... but theres alot more to it than static compression ratio to giving you PSI readings that you have. valve timing and overlap, and clearances will play a large part...
  13. just captivate spring top and bottom and so long as its not too stiff you can just build it to droop to the required travel. :lolcry:
  14. what did you do to get that cameron? wasnt exactly a helpful post... first thing i would do mate is check valve clearances and your valve timing. if the valves are tight, you get excessive static compression, can burn out valves and have all sorts of dramas. is the car running and just having trouble tuning? what exact problems tuning it are you having? may have a cam, which can cause the upped static compression, but is more likely to lower it...but would explain the difficulty in tuning. 155 is about right for a standard motor. 170 wouldnt be exceptional for a standard motor. how many cranks and was it throttle open or shut? fuel connected or not? wet or dry test (ie, oil down the bores)
  15. nice write up and you did a good job. what compound did you use?
  16. no, you are merely a pleb, you have no rights or voice... and lexxi, he wont say anything intelligent coz he doesnt wanna commit to a holiday which means commiting to relationship for however much longer. kick him in the groin and be done with it now
  17. probably not, they tend to get a bit harmonic and crack further up around the top of the block don't they? I'm not sure, just thought i remembered reading it...
  18. engineering sucks the major balls. too much save the environment and maths. i dropped out of uni degree after getting an OP2, and went into a trade. now a 3rd year carpenter and love it, and can't wait to have the headaches of working for myself :D if uni isnt what you wanna do, don't do it. my missus is going, but i still think its for those who don't really know what they wanna do, and are just afraid to admit they want some time to learn about the world and discover themselves before commiting alot of time and money into something.
  19. http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/ftopic139640-0-0-asc-.php theres some serious reading for you. quite interesting prospect and some big names getting behind it.
  20. chicken wire and bog wont look half decent in that area :D to do it on the cheap. knock all the bog out, roll and flare to how you want it. rust kill the lot, then bog away, not gonna be any worse than other places on the car I'm guessing
  21. some pics would be good, sounds like you would be better off replacing some metal :D
  22. are you employed or sub-ied? how can your boss be on an hourly rate, doesnt he work to contract?
  23. just a point of note, joining two wheels together isnt really legal, as you are not allowed to run a full circumference weld on a rim...
  24. check your oil level first...its coming on because its running out of oil pressure, because there isnt enough in the sump around corners to keep the pickup submerged when it all sloshes to the side... sometimes warning lights come on because theyre warning you of something... but ill eat my high horse if I'm wrong
