  2. mines gonna be a daily/circuit warrior :bash: I measured doors - 2 door 1200mm measured on body line 4 door 945-950 measured on body line thats from a mate of mine, i could measure mine, but havnt been bothered yet did he cut down a rear door to fill the hole or did he custom make the rear section?
  3. how much do you know about the car? this is the one that was on ebay? bloke selling it was a rude motherf@$ker when i rung him, was tempted to buy it and bring it up here, ive got full engineering approval to do mine using van doors. i find it hard to believe the doors and pillars were made from scratch, which is what he told me, and that the glass is perspex. would give me no info on how it was done or anything, so i told him to shove it and hung up, he was obviously trying to avoid the question of, can it be engineered, your gonna have a hard time i would imagine, having already done the work then trying to get it approved... can you please take all sorts of pics of the inside, of how the pillar is done, how its finished off, what trims are used etc. just for ideas on doing mine, I'm pretty sure how i wanna do it, and me and the engineer have nutted out the specifics, just interested to see how this one was done. cheers, andy

  5. they need it to be super awesome... my dad sent me an email the other day, i thought it would be kinda fitting in this thread with all the whinging that goes on, i know its just a release, but read it and think about it, i think the author is onto something.. Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio . "To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more: 1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone... 4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch. 5. Pay off your credit cards every month. 6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. 7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone. 8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it. 9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay cheque. 10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile. 11. Make peace with your past - so it won't screw up the present. 12. It's OK to let your children see you cry. 13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. 14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it. 15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry - God never blinks. 16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind. 17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful. 18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger. 19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no-one else. 20. Today is special. 22. Over prepare, then go with the flow. 23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple. 24. The most important sex organ is the brain. 25. No-one is in charge of your happiness but you. 26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words, ’In five years, will this matter ?' 27. Always choose life. 28. Forgive everyone everything. 29. 6. f@$king awesome not an option? :bash:
  7. 65 is very optimistic... look at what some people are making at the tyres and corolla drive lines are pretty tiny... i was just messin around too :bash:
  8. eh eh eh i might do that, but my ke70 wont be a peice of puss when its done, but most 4ks still will be a 1300 pushrod motor when people are done wasting money on them :bash: I'm just offering off-topic advice, because on this forum alot of people like to make out the 4K to be a monster. yes they can be quick in a corolla, but alot more fun can be had for similar cash with a modern motor. or you can just spend silly amounts of money... :$
  9. find a new radio station, only some are doing it.
  10. 3? thats not worth doing, super glue and sticky tape woulda fixed that one
  11. but why waste so much money on the piece of puss?
  12. and you would spend several thousand dollars on a K motor to still go like a K motor why?
  13. tell me more, tell me more, like did you break your car? sorry, grease sing-alongs are my kinda thing... why were u disappointed redwarf?
  14. check valve clearances. did you remove the distributors? I'm assuming you did, but along time since i played with a K motor, if you did, get a workshop manual and re-install it as per their directions, theres about 24 teeth on them, and only 1 way is right :rolla:
  15. are the captive nuts not in the floor pan? i thought they would have been...
  16. how much ignition timing are you running and what fuel? it will be an issue when the bastard wont stop :rolla:
  17. electronic boost control, it doesnt have to come on boost in a massive punch...
  18. those temps sound fine, and philbey, it a pressurised system with coolant, which both raise boiling point, so you can't say its gonna be boiling below 100, which is when water does. ive seen some cars at 118 and not boiling. you could change the trigger switch from what sounds like a 95/85 to a 90/85 but i wouldnt bother. how is it wired up currently? theres a good diagram on toymods wiring up a thermo with a seperate switch
  19. are the inserts or oil filled ones? if they factory oil ones, you can drain them and put some thicker oil in them
  20. heh, does he remove the door handles? does he mask the door rubbers? ive seen these cheap resprays...
  21. W55 -4.091 3.566 2.056 1.384 1 0.85 35kg 190 W57 -3.768 3.285 1.894 1.275 1 0.861 35kg 190 W58 -3.768 3.285 1.894 1.275 1 0.783 35kg 230 what do you plan on doing with the W55 to want it? i would have thought the W57 would have been preferential with nicer ratios and a close fifth, unless you have a very torqueless, revvy car?
  22. 5K is a pretty midrange quote for a colour change respray with repairs.
  23. then it was to be expected the bloody thing would blow a head gasket, have you seen the tolerances? if you can pull something off after 20 years of service and still expect it to be within what is it, something like 2 thou of flat then your expecting too much. if he had of skimmed the head, there would not have been an issue.
  24. did they get it skimmed? there is absolutely no point putting a head on unless you get it skimmed...
  25. depends how you set it to come onto boost.
