  1. kill switches work, even in plain site. my 1g ke70 was trailered to a workshop about 5pm on a sunday afternoon, got back there at 8am the following morning, to see the door ajar, the refidex open on the bonnet (wtf) the rear seats lifted up, the key barrel and surround unscrewed (as you probably know, take the surround off, and the barrell is held in with one screw, then you can start the car with a screw driver. not sure if steering lock works with barrell removed? think its easy to get around. anyway, so i look in the car, theyve obviously got in, and tried to start it, and got nowhere. lifted the seats to trace wiring to battery in boot etc. but blatantly missed the alloy plate the battery wires went to, it was screwed down where the console would normally be, with the killswitch off and removed. all they had to do was flip it over, undo the wires with a 17mm spanner, and put them together... they didnt work it out. killswitch and ebay car alarm that makes alot of noise will deter all the opportunists, and not many serious thieves want a ke70... if you get an ebay alarm, get one with a remote, and put in normal central locking, then u get remote central locking, for about 100 bucks. if you have the skills and patience to wire it up yourself
  2. id say they do, just with more facial, chest and back hair :jamie:
  3. you only pay it once and own the plates for life... and shush about black cars, I'm planning on painting mine gloss black
  4. put the blocks under the chassis stand...
  5. you can get big f@$k off truck stands, my mate has a pair, sit alot higher than normal car ones, almost twice the height? not sure where they came from though... get some decent offcuts of beams when your back at work (oh, thats right, you only use metal frames :lolcry:) but you get the idea, and use those to pack it up
  6. lol, so do the V8 boys. should see some of the markings up my street, I'm usually cheering them on if I'm not sleeping :lolcry:
  7. not really, cops know industrial areas are hooning hot spots. to be honest, everyone feels the urge to drive like a tool, and if theyre gonna do it, I'm much happier if it gets done in an industrial area than up my street :lolcry:
  8. nice work jon, have you decided on a motor for this yet? I'm assuming your sticking a 5k in it, seeings as your keeping the exhaust? keep up the progress :lolcry:
  9. people will always have fun on the streets, its just a matter of opportunity. same with traffic light races. yes there would be less large organised nights if there were legal places to do it, but you wont stop someone sticking the arse end out for a bit of fun on your local street by opening 10 race tracks...
  10. well, it depends if its a shit box u try and defend, or if its a well presented overrated car? my stock ke70 i restored from a rusted out shell, people respected as my cheap thrasher and i was as happy to laugh at it as anyone, it was a clean car, but still slow and old. my 1g ke70, well...not many people knocked that, it kinda oozed tough when u popped the bonnet :jamie:
  11. worst advice everrrr, drinking got me through my breakup. but now ive been talking to the ex again, and i don't know what i want. emotions grind my gears...
  12. lol, nice evasive action, shame you didnt apply the same to that pole :worship:
  13. interesting, ill take your word for it :jamie:
  14. thought petrols ran hot when they were lean?
  15. get under the car and push the body up and down and see whats making the knocking noise. if you don't know what it is, take a picture of the offending item and we will help
  16. so have you got the issues sorted?
  17. swoit! :P get it in writing though...
  18. yeah, we'll see what happens, i messaged mick friday arvo, said if he wanted to do a saturday and try finish one side off, i was happy to go in and help out, hold things, help align, just try be of use, rather than him having to pay 2 people to be there to do it, but he was off to the dentist and didnt wanna work saturday. ill talk to him later in the week again and see how things are going, i will make a trip up once u get the section in and door aligned, and check it all out, I'm gonna be fussy with body lines and door gaps :P
  19. i considered it, hard to find someone willing to do the whole job. especially at a good price. i had a guy that would do the body work for me a couple of months ago, he does some seriously nice restos, and it would have cost me more, but i know the job would have been 100% perfect, but he couldnt fit me in for another 3 months, if the progress stalls much more i will think seriously about it, i just wanna get body and cage done before NCOP comes in, then its not much work dropping motor in and then it should be smooth sailing... "should" haha
  20. i wasnt having a go at you...I'm just sick of hearing an excuse everytime i call, rather than a progress report. I'm sure if you had a car in a shop for a year with no progress you wouldnt be the most understanding person either...i don't give a shit if its because his apprentice is a shit employee or not, i know it makes it hard when he takes days off without even calling, at the end of the day, it comes down to how hes running the business. he can obviously get away with it, which is why things never get done when they should. or thats how it looks to me... OWANF, cams cage, and then just argue with ANDRA, probably easier to do it that way, as i am planning on trying to make it into a fast circuit car...which should be a fun challenge... although that said, 1JZ rolla on toymods, with a 1JZ ae71 panno, weighed his car and F/R was about 52/48. so it may not be that far off balance with the right setup it may just work...especially considering the pannos are lighter than the sedans
  21. thanks guys, i love the PR cars  not much to report unfortunately, more excuses from the mechanic, but thats about it one side of the van has been cut out and trimmed to suit going into the sedan, but thats where it stopped it would seem
  22.
  23. nice vids  and a nice effort on the 1200 kg, makes me happy with the 1140 my 1g ke70 weighed in at, makes me wonder if my weight was accurate... whats next on the agenda for the car?
  24. lookin good, love the use of the franna, someones a lucky prick  are they the tyres that are staying on it? is that the finished body height in relation to wheels? if it is, obviously you will have to cut the gaurd a bit, but will you open it out so the clearance is a bit more consistant on the sides in relation to the top? why the wheel base extension?
  25. lol, not far from where we were sitting thats for sure. you should have made mention you would be there ben, not even using your own forum
