  1. i used sikaflex, cause its polyurethane it allows more movement. but i can see the point to using liquid nails. just use something strongly sticky, and stack some heavy books, blocks, bricks on top for a day to make sure its hard down and you will be right :D
  2. if your gonna be proud of a car that looks shit, your gonna wanna hope it goes like hell. end of story. and theres a big difference between a rusty shitty old corolla and some of those genuine cars posted in this thread. at the end of the day, if your driving a piece of shit corolla, and it looks like a piece of shit corolla, 99% of people are going to think nothing more than, look at that pauper, he really could do with a new car...
  3. thats the detent springs not holding it in
  4. sounds my patrol ute tryna get it back in first, only thats meant to be double synchro'd in first :rolls:
  5. engine bay fuse box from memory? if not try behind kick panel in drivers foot well i can check tomorrow, can't remember off top of my head at the moment, let us know how u go.
  6. wow, in for verdict on this one. try a different motor? ive got one or two here if you wanted to try one, dunno your location though... interesting it travels the correct sweep but stops in centre...
  7. there was a good discussion on this a year or two ago on scooby forum, while mostly its a waste of time, there was a bloke who could double clutch faster than you can blink, and his gear changes were quicker than by using the synchros, but he was a brilliant driver and i think it may have been a dog-box in his car....
  8. does he have insurance? can you claim on that? freakin sucks but. wgmg, tyre blowouts. had a rear blow on my ute today, weighs 2.8 tonne cold, and I'm towing a 2 tonne trailer for work this week, at 110 second lane on the highway it let go. was an older tyre, but not ancient, with roughly 5mm tread, so was nothing but bad luck, and a bit of excess load  blew open from bead to bead, the truck next to me had his head out the window thinking it was one of his gone it was that big haha
  9. accessories are, not too many internals are. check out the faq, most 5ks have like you said, different pistons, with about a 16cc dish in them, which means the combustion chamber in the head in a 5k is rather small, so if you change pistons you have to change heads. i picked up a bottom end in parts for 20 bucks once, but 250 for a pair is a very good price, quite a sort after motor in these places :jamie:
  10. don't phuck up then, your not getting paid to cruise around and work at a half arsed pace, your job is to do the job properly as quickly as possible, don't blame someone else for you missing shit
  11. get a mechanic to do it, they will get parts cheaper, the right parts the first time, and you will know the jobs done right. if your serious i can recomend you to a guy who does some good work at a good price and you can rely on him, but there are plenty of people that have done home jobs, just do some searching, sounds like you know what your talking about, so wont be too hard. can't you get a ae86 intank lift pump to fit the ke70 tank? then just do the wiring, and just run it up to a surge tank in the boot and then down to the high pressure pump?
  12. f@$kin love it ;) will get out to see this thing run one day, can we have plenty of notice for the next one please  i know the missus will wanna see it too
  13. that does suck, was it in the middle of nowhere or in a built up area? i often wonder how many of the train delays are jumpers, and how it effects the driver. can't be a good experience, hope your alright ;)
  14. might be a little late, but why not just hire a truck and do it one trip?
  15. were you using proper 6 sided brake line spanners? i also agree on the shitty material, must make them seal better, but if theyre not corroded tight they shouldnt round off using the right spanner, and if they are corroded tight theyre f@$ked anyway
  16. struggle with 3 pedals mate? :jamie: and jon, at least ur still alive and theyre starting to try and put you back together again?
  17. why not shut the f@$k up? they came on cars for a reason, its a fuel stop when the ignition power is killed. why do you want to remove it? i would suggest just sourcing a second hand one if your one is faulty, but I'm sure your auto parts store worth there cream could source you something new
  18. lol, do you know how much those fork tyres? apparently theyre not cheap!
  19. skilled?
  20. and if i finish my 2 door before you get this done theres gonna be SERIOUS trouble
  21. don't bother with a gasket, just use hi-temp red.
  22. nice bro :) wonder how much more bog is hiding under the apparently good body  hope it is as good as it looks ;)
  23. got a fuel pump if you need one, was fine the last tme i tested it for a time waster :) why not put the studs back in? only reason it snapped is because you over-torqued it, just like a bolt will, only bolts are more likely to strip the thread and create yet more dramas. theres a reason performance cars run head studs rather than bolts ;)
  24. i am willing to take this island off your hands at a discounted rate due to its inherent violence. contact me asap to reduce your grief levels :hmm:
  25. hahaha and then they can't PM you to complain their PMs are not working. brilliant! haha good job you had that number plate protector jon, don't know what that metal would have done if hit by a peice of rubber :)
