  1. i drained 3 litres of oil from the sump. try again. wire wouldnt help its in so tight
  2. hey guys, just rebuilt a 1995 323 astina. i know, thats where i went wrong, but its my sisters car, so i gotta do the right thing. anyways, all went well except the oil filter seal not sealing so i pissed a sump full of oil onto the shed floor. another new oil filter and some oil and all went well. drove it to work in the typical running in, aka thrash it, style of driving and all was well. got back in that afternoon and oil light stays on.... so i tow it home, and think maybe dodgy sensor, remove sensor, fit new one. nothing. remove sensor, start motor (yes, nothing in the hole...no oil comes out. nothing. not even a token drop!!!) so, sump comes off, check, pick up still in place. next, oil pump comes out...well its still there remove oil pressure relief valve, split pin, washer and spring comes out. but piston isnt having a bar of it. doesnt want to move. is this normal? could this be cause for no oil pressure? what else may it be? I'm at a dead end. cheers, andrew
  3. id have used self tapping screws myself...but I'm a dodgy bastard :)

  6. truly, i havnt got my car running for longer than 500m so far so havnt yet looked into cams regulations. next week it should be good tho, so then sometime ill be looking further into the intricasies of keeping people happy. :P
  7. ive never seen the point really, if its up tight enough, i really don't see how its gonna come undone... but thats just me, if you wanna spend a weekend playing around, thats your choice :P
  8. i believe the tension is referred to as FT FT = f@$king tight :) where i can i go as tight as i can with a half inch drive ratchet, and where i can't get with a ratchet i use a good 17mm spanner (break the cheap ones haha) and just go as tight as you can without being stupid. 100 foot pound is a bit too tight id imagine 100 nm would do id think, just remember how tight they were to get off, and try to emulate that :P
  9. its not the roughness that is the key issue in my opinion but more the shaping. upping compression, and porting the shape does see some benefit. basically, if its a stock motor your doing nothing to then just leave it how is, but if your working the motor, a good port and polish wont hurt
  10. coz its an insanely sized fuel pump. waste of money, weight and power des. if in 20 years you want 700 hp, then get that pump, until then, go a more reasonable size...
  11. i think you'll regret doing it. like i do with my massive f@$k off sized intercooler...still looks cool tho :P
  12. why bother, your never going to be making 700 hp in a motokhana car. or a 4agze for that matter either...
