  1. considered getting spark control?
  2. 2j can make 800 rwhp on a stock bottom end...so they say
  3. :P what size cable is that? sounds piss small to me if you used the earth for the taillights... in my ke70, there are bungs in the floor. and if you pop the bungs up, there are bolts that go thru the chassis rail to hold a towbar. i used these as its a very substantial earth, i really recommend bigger is better in this matter
  4. how does this relate to car sound? and just go around the wreckers, find some good seats and mod the rails to fit. any seat changes have to be mod plated.
  5. she'll be fine. just run plenty big enough cables. 2awg should do :P
  6. uni for the lose. hated it. its like...working full time...only making no money :D guess i was just cut out for a trade heh. you musta got a good OP to get in, so well done mate i hope you enjoy it more than i did. but if you do hate it. get out before it costs you anything :) and get yourself into a trade :P cheers, andrew
  7. the datsun A12 is a phenomal motor. my mates one in his 1200 ute, is bog stock and shit it has alot more balls than my ke70. theres also a guy with a stock 1200 motor in a datsun 1200 and he slapped a good turbo/carby setup on it. and I'm ashamed to say, he kept up with me on the highway while i was driving the 1G powered vehicle. that said, his motor is on the limit. mines nowhere near :P
  8. wow. a motor didnt break because it has a piss weak starter motor....what a glorious motor.... on another note, dad drove his 6 cyl falcon 1996 model into a big puddle, at about 1500 rpm. filled the motor with water. towed it home after he coldnt get it to turn over on the starter i told him the problem, took plugs and turned her over took manifold off and dried that out. was fine after an oil change. guess all I'm saying is a few motors enjoy hydraulic lock without any issues. and what carby you got on this to have a float level of 1 or 2 hundred mils? thats alot of fuel to get in a cylinder. for what its worth, a cylinder would probably hydraulic lock at ~40ml
  9. its definately piston slap. remove motor and incinerate :)
  10. can't they do more than one thing at once? :) todays friday tho... :)
  11. check valve clearances before people start spinning ye 0ld piston rattle stories :)
  12. 3.8's came out in ke70 borg warner diffs. in the autos from memory not sure if they will fit tho..
  13. happy birthday jon, hope your having a good one mate! and watch out for any falling objects :y: happy burfday once again :D
  14. use stock efi dizzy and get a mallory hyfire VI. if not most ecus can deal with not running injectors. other problem is where are you gonna run vacuum line from on twin carbies to signal whatever ecu you are using?
  15. drifting vs standing the arse end out... i doubt you be anywhere near competitive in any competition with a 4k. using a T series diff out of a te71 and after market LSD centre bolts into ke70. have a search around :)
  16. with the turbo 4agze, all you need do is unbolt the supercharger and get a turbo and turbo manifold and do the associated piping for air, oil and water. using both supercharger and turbo would not be easy. you could even just use the supercharger, depends how much power you are after. but i think forced induction is what every ke70 needs :)
  17. don't mind stiggzy there. hes an angry boy at heart and likes to scream and shout. he is awfully good fun tho. i hope that t50 is as strong as he thinks it is...coz i know ill be gettin behind the wheel one day ;) biggo kept breaking t50's behind his 20 valve...I'm thinking it was clutch kicking doing that. but we will see how this one goes hey :jamie:
  18. mmm, my excuse wins i put a harmonic balancer thru the radiator no way I'm doing that big hill in a stock ke70, so I'm out very apologies. i havnt had over 7 hrs sleep any night since last friday, workin 10 hr days then workin on the car after that. got her all up and running today, and turns out the NEW TOYOTA GENUINE cam cover seal split and leaked. so spent some time working out wtf it was got it all goin nice. no more nasty shim noises as theyre almost all perfect now. then go for a drive, get back put in shed to check over leaking coolant. groove in radiator and leaking damn harmonic balancer :jamie:
  19. forced induction for humans...
  20. i like the one with the supra lights... I'm tempted...i have a supra motor after all :jamie: the first one is a chop, if you had spent as much time as me checking for scrub under the front of a ke70 you would know its impossible for that wheel to sit where it is ;)
  21. i think you found a temp sensor hole with no sensor in it :jamie: either that or a custom inspection hole hehe but yeah, just fill her up, most of the motor will fill as the rad sits higher than most of the engine, then start up and let warm up and keep topping coolant up.
  22. nothing like home grown wiring...it gets me thru :jamie:
  23. not a blocked fuel filter is it?
  24. i think the hardest part is doing the conversion. the whole thing is a giant f@$k around. considered sr20? :jamie: don't forget the old tapping holes in the block/making completely custom engine mount on one side...
