  2. i may be a little late to the meeting point as i have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning. i will try and get in and out early and be there on time.
  3. its a corolla. of course its a piece of crap.
  4. i shall be there in the 1g car... was gonna do wheel bearings and diff work this weekend but i wont pull a simon :D ill hold off and give her a run  might be a bit mild with all you slow pokes tho :fuzz:
  5. but good ones off ebay are much prettier...
  6. in the first post? its ok, still nothing special
  7. they have some beautiful manifolds. and some absolute shit. and people go OMGWTFBBQ, HKS BRO. 1 million killaaaawatts here i come...
  8. jesus they are all splendiferously shit looking manifolds... with how much you have spent you could have one made custom by now. i only payed 1100 for mine through 6boost, custom manifold, for a 1ggte in a ke70. with a good design. f@$king those designs are shit for flow. half decent flow design ^^ and why do people always buy things from people they have never spoken to, let alone in the same country...i just don't understand it :D
  9. 1) not sure on type of gas. but hire a big bottle. the little bottles that you buy and throw away are pigging useless. theyre about 30 dollars and last 7 minutes of welding. big bottle lasts ages, isnt too expensiv to fill up and is only 160 a yr rental... 2) 0.8mm seems good. never got on well with the thinner wire.. 3) TAFE course ftw, saves alot of late nights grinding... (I'm a bigger is better welder, and hence, have lots to grind off, but shes strong!!) lol 4)tips and tricks, just take your time and shape the steel, then weld it in. saves alot of bog work. oh and for what its worth, using galv steel is a good idea, as it wont rust again...until you try and weld the shit. its ok once you burn thru the zinc coat :D
  10. cool, should only be 6 or so on the back of the key barrell :P enjoy, a multimeter would be handy :o and disconnect the coil lead so you can crank it over to test which wires are activated when cranking
  11. go to back of key barrel and find which wire is the one that goes live when u turn the engine to "start" or even an ignition wire...id use the start wire, so that everything works til you try start it, and it just wont turn over. this also stops your clock resetting and all your radio stations getting deleted etc when you kill it (big pain in the arse, i never kill my car now, coz if not i don't know the time haha) so yes, find the wire that goes live when you turn to "start" trace this wire back to a desired position (out of eyeshot when plastic covers are removed, because they rip the plastic trims off and unscrew the back of the barrel from the actual barrel. this means you can turn it with anything and don't need a key) just chop and extend this wire, put a switch where you want, and then rejoin. it may be 2 wires or something, but just switching one will do the trick. cheers :P
  12. perfect opportunity then :o its great for t-e-h dorifto :P :P stupid thing wont let me post t-e-h, keeps changing it to the the....damn it
  13. or if battery in boot a big red killswitch that cuts the power from battery to engine bay.... downside...any one with half a brain would just rip it out and put the two terminals together...idiots that tried to steal my car didnt manage it....
  14. i think felix just hit the nail on the head. I'm out :P
  15. thats far from hte point raven, i have a lead tipped arrow for a car, and with mildly better brakes it stops unbelievably better. $100 on brakes, or $100 on a line...i know which one i will choose. and i know that in my ke70 the reason the rear brakes lock up when i break heavily is because of the god awful tyres on the rear of the car. and how on earth does comparing a 1ggte ke70 with stock brakes to an ae86 with stock brakes bear any relevance? of course the ke70 will pull up slower....bloody stupid point that is
  16. there was the 1 litre K motor first up then the 3K 1.2L then the 4k 1.3L was all the ke corollas ever saw. there is also a 5k available from other cars that will bolt in. 1.5L and a 7k from hiaces 1.8L i believe up to the ke20 series they were 110, and after that, so ke30 onwards they were the 114.3 13's i coudlnt tell you and 5 speeds were never a given, just became an option later on in life, not sure how late. i know 55's and 70's got 5 speeds as option, and i think ke30 did too??
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Corolla
  18. theres some info on wikipedia...
  19. mr ke10, are you still running stock brakes? if so...see the faq, yes changing/adding the booster will help but 4 wheel drums is likely the key issue here :P
  20. i bet i would outbrake him...even tho i have rubber lines :P and I'm betting its more to do with shit tyres on the rear rather than different pads causing them to lock up.
  21. and why would you bother? just turbo it and make the power alot easier and alot safer for alot less money.
  22. big brakes and 13" rims just doesnt work...
  23. brilliant post JC807. you made it all so simple  mozzy, with the radiator hose, if you can't find one at a parts shop that will do the trick, a good idea can be to get a collection of hoses, and work out if you can just join 2 sections (maybe more...but i doubt it) together, to get the right combination of bends. if this is gonna work, then just get a peice of steel tube and slide the radiator hoses on and clamp them on. hey presto, custom radiator hose :) thats what i have for my 1g ke70 bottom hose. you can also buy the flexi shit for like 50 bucks for 600mm or however long it is. and in reality, its shit ( i took mine back and got rad hose and some other stuff with the money) they kink easy, and are just in general shit...plus it makes you look dodgy :D I'm sure you will find a hose that will suit. it may pay to knock up a mock so you can take it in and go...i want one like this. they will usually go, have a look son. they leave you alone and you fill your pockets with what you can whilst looking at hoses ;) cheers, andrew
  24. 250....thats alot....what do they go for at exhaust shops? thats crazy money.... anyways.... bloody ebay haha
  25. sounds decent. yay, 1g powah! be careful, engine is coming out of car again soon. so make this soon, or distant. if not its likely i will be doing the "take-it-apart-to-have-a-look-and-replace-the-oil-pump" trick
