  1. now step out into the real world and find a price on replacement bushings. i said that the brass bush doo daa is what wears, and was also going to cost a fortune to replace. if you know of somewhere to get them cheap id love to know. i never tried genuine....but i don't reckon they would still do them anyway...
  2. i don't have any of the hinges and the car is now sold to a genious that crashed it into a gutter within a week. but, i ahve some bolts still, so i may be able to grab a hinge and do a little demo. but just imagine, take a bolt, put it in place of the pin. then work out the technicalities
  3. i know you don't like me, but i looked into this a couple of years ago for my ke70. on the ke70, and I'm gonna guess its the same on your 25(?). basically, in the hinge, there is a brass bush inbetween the pin and the hinge. this is what wears and lets the door sag. i went to harrison early spares which is in this area and it was about 60 + per hinge to buy what i needed, so i decided that i couldnt be bothered. and actually bought some tough bolts, ones with the allen key head in and drilled out the hinge, put a hole through the bolt for the split pin, and never had an issue with floppy doors again. i think i had to trim the head down on one side to clear a bolt to get it to sit flat, but it was definately a cheap alternative
  4. did the 4k still go? aha, sorry, couldnt resist, seeings as theyre so unbreakable....
  5. why not just swap the rears over and see if its higher or lower. to swap the rears is under an hours work...
  6. oh really, i thought u were waiting for a deposit? did you do both or just the blown side?
  7. your car has a bhg... they shut it off as soon as the power starts to drop off, which is probably a nicer drive than an owner would usually do...
  8. wheres it at? is this the one at beenleigh tavern?
  9. why so sure its a 72? anyway, to actually find out for yourself, check the VIN number, thats on the firewall, under the bonnet at the back of the engine bay. should start with TE71 or TE72 or something like that. 4th jumping out may be detent springs, and is fixable grinding noises could be a bearing in the driveline somewhere, maybe the one in the cente of the tailshaft, or something out of balance. don't go replacing things until you know your problems
  10. yep, get a trade tools one. theyre better than the super cheap/autobahn ones. and good luck getting someone to lend it to you with 1 post on the forum....
  11. that would be a T-50 transmission you need I'm pretty sure.
  12. don't waste a perfectly good pair of ma's
  13. I'm all for the hot pink..
  14. you don't know the service history of the motor prior to when you got it. i would be requesting toyota to be using a good oil, i like the HPR 10 or HPR 15, and going with the garrett turbo. by rights, nothing should go wrong, and if it does, well f@$k hey. its unlikely to do it within 9 months, so you may aswell throw the warranty away. sure you can't take the toyota payout get a second hand replacement, put that on, thus keeping it stock, thus keeping it within warranty, so if it does go bang, u still ahve warranty and you have money in your pocket?
  15. just build it as a thrasher. the less u spend the less u will worry
  16. i was just checking, I'm rather impressed someone went to the effort to jam one of them in, tough motor though. a k motor is still a I4 and the 265 is still a I6, even if you turn it upside down...
  17. ... wheels are round jon ... and big butch, id be ashamed to have that wheel in my car, sorry. is it even adr approved? or aus standard, whoever regulates them...
  18. he probably didnt consider moving the radiator or any such things which make conversions like that possible. maybe u should drive my 1g ke70, its no fully sick drift king but it hangs onto corners bloody well according to all passengers.
  19. it would appear i can't be bothered moving the mower to get to the one on the 4k laying in there. not sure what type that one is anyway. it would also appear the one i was thinking of i must have given away with the 5k bottom end i sold. and if i have another, its lurking...somewhere. ill keep my eyes open.
  20. man, u guys suck I'm gonna have to go back out into the cold to double check mine are like that. i ahve 3 or 4 of the bastards so ill check if they are reduction ones or whatever. may just take pics
  21. go the 4.1 should give you around standard corolla feeling, with more revs. biggo runs a 3.7 in his 20v ke70 and got 160 or 180 out of 3rd, something stupid anyway. so yes, 4.1 would be much more appreciable. i enjoyed my 4.3 i was running with the 1ggte ke70, but alas, things must change and I'm running a 4.1 now and its a nice all round
  22. i swear i have one of them in the shed :P who wants it
  23. haha by drift do you fully hektik powaahhh slides in your "chix" ae92 and des, its usually nice guys that get f@$ked over in life :P keep the soft side for the ladies
  24. ahwell at least its not leaking water into the oil :P
