  1. well if the question is answered by the person that also happens to mention he has the solution item for sale, i don't see the problem. but thats me, and I'm not going to argue with ben, hes big...
  2. been through the same thing ended up reusing my old one. and the current car has one of the ones without the groove. hopefully it will be good to reuse in the new shell... let us know how the asian one is :y:
  3. yay for 6boost steam pipe manifolds...
  4. you sir are a spoil sport :y:
  5. hahahhaah srry, that made me laugh
  6. i was going to say the same thing. the sc12 just can't keep up. by 9000 the drag on the motor is going to be huge from the supercharger and it will infact be restricting air flow. but that is simply my belief, ive never built one before. go ahead, and tell us how it goes. you wont have lost anything, you can then just bolt a turbo on :)
  7. could get a ring machined to fill the gap...
  8. it has to do with port velocity. remember, the supercharger is going to be your limiting factor. you can build everything else to flow 700hp, but when your superdupercharger only flows 200hp, thats all your gonna make, and your gonna be doing it the hard way with everything else built beyond that. a valve size that will flow 700 hp or whatever will not flow 200 hp very well. if I'm making sense... cheers
  9. lol, your delusional. tough little motors :)
  10. id talk to your engine builder before doing this, biggest valves are not always going to make the best power....especially at the modest figures you are aiming at..
  11. the smaller valves will do, its not all about size :)
  12. just a thought my dad has told me about this stuff he used back in the UK. was a motor that hadnt been run for a while, had shit compression and was running like a 3 legged dog pulling a sack of spuds across a frozen lake... bought this stuff that frees up the rings. poured a few drops in each cyl. then left it to sit as per instructions started up, large plumes of smoke. then the motor was just fine. maybe worth a try?
  13. and so the turbo build begins booyeah!
  14. shit !! can ride with me if the need arises :P tried kicking it? always made me feel better with the temper tantrum 1g...
  15. that would be my mistake. i meant i run coilovers in the front and standard coils in the rear. hence the confusion. i now understand why we were getting our worms muddled :P ill edit it to stop any confusion
  16. mate, wtf a ke70 doesnt have coil overs in the rear. they are REPLACEMENT lowered springs. for a stock standard setup.
  17. in the rear they are just replacement springs man. in the front is a totally different setup, not using kings
  18. http://winterpalace.customer.netspace.net.au/ae86-sus.html and search for King KTRL-34/270 thats the lowered rear for a ke70. king spring p/n is KTRL-34 I'm guessing the /270 on that website implies the pound per foot reading. and they have just picked the centre, as i assure you they are progressive, this helps to keep the spring captive. thats the ride height i was getting with them in the rear, no fuel tank but a LPG tank in the boot. thats on 225/50R15, so theyre a little taller than standard tyres.
  19. this was for the rears, i run coilovers in the front, and they are a progressive spring. from memory they were 260-280 which is 4.6 kg to 5kg. ill do some research and find out for you.
  20. yeah, maybe the relays are different?
  21. short enough to keep my lowered king springs captive
  22. depends whether you are talking yellows or reds. i run reds in the rear and got them for around 300 the pair. i ahve yellows in the front, as purchased. think they are around 250 each. of course chopped springs are a money thing...
  23. whats so great about the excel shocks? why not koni's? theyre a nice balance between street and track. bilsteins are a little too track orientated
  24. i doubt that you, tas ae71, have driven a corolla with fully replaced standard suspension. i think you would find it is much nicer than you imagine. everything is probably 20 years minimum old. i, for example. was driving on shocks that were 400,000 km old.
  25. turbos are way fun. which ever way you go, so long as its turbo itll be awesome :)
