  1. can't we tell you have an sr20 :hmm: i would swap the valve springs just for the sake of doing it, so you don't have to come back again, but then again, u havnt done alot with the rest of the motor so your probably not expecting too much? so maybe don't bother. binding is when all the coils "bind" together as the cam goes round. torque the bolts correctly, stripping threads suck the nuts get clearance from cam grinder. i think it will be nearly the same. set them around that point when cold, get it hot then reset them. as has been said.
  2. the question has to be, what were u in 5th for at 150 anyway? :hmm: looks like it put in a fair effort anyway :S
  3. oh this is awesome :hmm: you get stupidly long control arms that f@$k your camber, then get camber tops to correct the issue. why not just get camber tops to start with?
  4. well I'm glad to hear this one may happen :hmm: but why oh why did you go the twin t25s? its been done before by forcefed6, who made decent power, but it didnt spool any sooner than a single, took up even more room, which is room your not going to have in a corolla. i wasnt being rude to you, as i don't even know you, i was just outlining some of the basic things people don't think about. depending how long the motor has been sitting, which if its coming from japland is probably quite a while, it may well be worth replacing the headgasket, as the composite materials go soft and it just leads to more heartache 6months down the track. seems you know what your doing :( was the l300 classed as a commercial? that would have made life much easier :S
  5. first things first f@$k the factory twins off and convert to single. what box you running and how you doing the clutch? what fuel system are you going to run? are you fmic? whos fabbing the engine mounts and gearbox mounts? i run ra65 brakes, seem good. have an alfa romeo diff (don't ask, don't go there) whose going to do the exhaust? dump pipe will probably be a c**t btw. mine sure is. what radiator you going to use and how are you going to get it to fit and stay without putting the harmonic balancer through it? (been there, done that) what top and bottom hoses will you use? bottom hose will be a prick. are you using standard ecu? are you using power steering? whose doing the engineering? how much have you budgeted? I'm assuming you think you will get it on road for a bit over 5k yeah? I'm predicting 10-12 minimum cheers, andrew
  6. white smoke = bhg usually... oil when moving, well...the rear main should be under pressure, unless your leaking compression into the block, or its full of water :) check the colour of your oil for us. it also explains the startin issues, them sparkplugs don't spark too well when theyre wet
  7. hahaha poor pinion
  8. ive got a diff i can sell you if you want an open one :hmm: its bigger than a standard one and has larger brakes. ive seen lockers driven on the street, and i woudlnt do it, in the wet they are lethal
  9. just remove the old one, take it to a couple of trimmers to get prices pick one that knows what they are doing and is a reasonable price, pick you material and get it made. my ke70 one cost under a hungee
  10. how close do you guys get to stupidcar times?
  11. i downloaded mine, umm, if you reallllyyyy want it, just google long and hard. thats what i ended up doing. can't remember any details on how i found it now sorry. but it was a bit of messing around, and i only use it because of the 1g, that most places will tell you to get stuffed when you ring for parts... cheers, andrew
  12. i don't believe any of you. qld transport must never be seen to do something useful for the car enthusiast
  13. theyll probably end up getting alot of business out of these motors. opening the bore out and sleeving it, then making pistons to suit.... maybe I'm wrong, but i think itll happen.
  14. 1 deg camber is bugger all. my stock ke70 had +1 :drgrim:

  16. if you get onto toymods ask in the ke corolla dedicated chat, or search in that thread, its been brought up a few times
  17. from what ive heard KKR turbos are alright, but some of the others are rubbish. if you go onto nissan silvia they sort of have epenis comps about how cheap they can sell u a genuine aus delivered garrett. gt3071r for about 1600... cheers, andrew
  18. manufacturers are tending towards v6's now due to packaging constraints and impact safety to pedestrians ie crush zones etc. or so i have heard. not sure if its the case with the 35 or not...
  19. well the darker looks better anyway, maybe the way the panel was hanging, or the amount of paint you put on. more paint = darker colour...
  20. http://toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t...ght=6boost+auto seems the 1j/2j box may be different to the 1g box which is where i was drawing my info from. interesting to note the jatco is pretty much wireless, which is always a bonus when matching this to that, and that to this.
  21. the supra auto wont hold 300rwkw as far as I'm aware. id go the jatco with the o/d, but 300rwkw through an auto is gonna be very hard ask for the 4agte, even on avgas...
  22. do you have a speed sensor connected to the ecu? if it doesnt have any speed sensor connected it will think its free revving and retard itself.
  23. your preaching to the converted. its just a get-round-to-it. theres alot of those about at the moment....
  24. justin, i didnt think of it because i thought/had been told it was just a standard ke70 diff. i don't know it, but i could but its not a banjo type diff
