its impossible to get a factory rwd 20valve coz they never came in a rwd format. i think 4age 20valve would have no more go go than the ca18, remember, its a 1.6L i think sr20det is the next logical step, either that or turbo a 4agze

you can use a pedal box out of an ae71 and the hydraulic clutch master cylinder, then you just have to fit it up to the proper slave cylinder for the sr gearbox. on the note of sr gearboxes they are bloody huge things, and if i guess correctly, the shifter will come up through the support thingo that goes across the floor from one side to the other. if you have to cut the hole here, you have to strengthen the cut away support if not your floor will go even more flimsy than what 25 year old corollas already are

I'm running a 1ggte in my ke70 which is a toyota built 2 ltr straight 6. came factory with twin turbo, however i have converted to single turbo. the handling is still surprisingly good when you consider the crank pulley is about 3mm from the radiator and hard against the firewall. I'm currently running the turbo off an rb20 til i can afford something better, and the rb20 i pulled the turbo off was physically bigger than the 1ggte. you can make it handle with such a large motor, but if you wanna go crazy why not go rb26 and sit the motor back into the cabin a bit :) if i was to build my ke70 again, i would use something of a 4cylinder nature, jus to keep the weight back, and to free up some space in the engine bay. but that said, the 1g is enormous fun :hmm:

lol, rollaboy wats up your arse this week? restorer, these motors are sometimes given away free, however i sold mine for 150 from memory, and seemed a fair price. the only time these sell for 5000 is in japan, where they are rare as hens teeth, go figure, lol *edit* re-reading it would appear you are selling the rolling shell, not the motor etc. umm, a good one prob 500

sorry, the sr20det is much stronger than the ca18det. and you can make alot more power out of the SR. diff ratio of a ke70 can be 3.8, 4.1 or 4.3 depending on your model.

SR20 if they are more common in your country, and the 2 litre capacity makes them alot easy to drive. SR20DET would be awesome, and i thinkt he hardest thing is making the gearbox fit, which i think uve done already having the CA18 in there?

Ke35 / 55 Steering Torque Wrench Setings
love ke70 replied to TIMMMAAAAYYY's topic in General Mechanical
in ke70's the bigger nuts and bolts are 88nm, smaller are 68 nm take that and run with it :) -
by the looks of it, the front mounting points are already bent over, but I'm assuming they are not quite in the right spot? if they are, then just bolt them in. if they are not, get a good bit of 90* angle steel, weld it inside, or over the top of the stock bent over mount, then put a hole in in the right spot to bolt it down. hope that makes sense. i say use angle because if you use a flat peice of steel you only have hte one surface to weld, if you use the angle you weld to the top and the front. makes it stronger :) with the rear, going by memory of corollas, they are not flat, but angled, i would bend the stock GT4 mounts to the right angle. and using a good solid peice of flat steel weld it to the GT4 mount and put a hole so it fits the corolla point. THEN, as there may be a little flex/high stress on the weld, build a box of sorts to sit under the stock GT4 point, that sits down onto the ground. so there is no flex...make it from steel of course. with a little effort should be able to hide it pretty well and make it all look quite stock. this stuff you can weld with an arc, so it is quite nice and easy to do. have fun :y: sorry for the slow reply, i didnt get an email notification of the reply.

rollin-rolla thats like my crossmember, only mines a bit bigger, holding a W57 n all :D i think they explain it. with rollin-rollas off car pics, and my on car, you should be good :)

you will never need anything wider than 225/235 really for a street driven ke70. with my 1g i have to dump the clutch to break traction (225/50r15 GT radials, 260 treadwear)or have boost come on round a corner. and people that have been for a ride know how hard she comes on boost.

get angry. hit with hammer while pulling with other hand. if angry enough, wheel will come off

the question is are the new laws retro-spective? if so I'm up the proverbial creek with a biodegradeable paddle :) and in any case, even if i have to put a sticker on my car to say I'm a P plater and have restrictions at night, ill still give the car a hard flog at given opportunites. and so will most young drivers, one day we will grow up. but until then, we will continue to learn :D
-
lol, sounds like just as much fun as finding 225/50r15 try the people that supply GT radials, mine are grippy as and didnt cost a fortune :D with the 8" legal minimum is 225 right?
