Finished giving the car a paint. Got her running. Took some pictures. A big thanks to my neighbours mechanic friend who found a loose lead to my starter motor. Fixed the tail light issue, all work fine now. Secured head light bezels(?) in properly. Gave her a clean. pics came out ok. And you gotta admit that paintjob is pretty sweet for shit $4 spray cans. Still need a door hinge, a window washer squirty thingie (thats the technical term). Then ill take her in for a RWC. Ill grab some seat covers and need a steering wheel. Also need a chrome rolla badge for the back. Oh yeah and need to fix the accelerator pump.

587 isnt enough. I suggest a jet engine or similar. Makes overtaking easier.

pity you don't have a woodgrain dash sounds like you might need some close at hand :lolcry:

It looks good until you don't see a car coming or back into something. And you'll get defected for it the first time you're pulled over. EDIT: especially if your on P's

Cool, seems to have been narrowed down. And if its first year shouldnt be too hard to fix. I'm learning as i go! Can it be replaced without a lot of hassle? Simple remove/replace while the carb is still on the car? And as above, is it a part i can get at repco? Or should i try source one from a wrecker. I have two days left till i go back to work, would love to sort this out before then, its the one mechanical gremlin i have. Sounds like the new plugs and leads i got today probably wasnt worth it, but always good to have freshies i suppose. EDIT: will this help with starting it too? She struggles a bit.

cheers all. I might just have to go for some car seat covers untill i get some new seats. I got the new plugs and leads in and gave the engine a degrease. Came up good, forgot to do the inside of the bonnet tho. Flushed out the radiator. Couldnt take it for a spin as the battery was dead flat. Back in the garage tomorrow for another coat of spray cans to tidy it up a bit for rwc. Soooo close to rolling! Cleaned it down ready for paint

my manual says for flat spots on acceleration *faulty accelerator pump linkage: Check and rectify pump linkage *faulty accelerator pump plunger cup: renew pump plunger There are NO diagrams so i have no idea what to rectify renew. Read the whole carby bit of the manual and still can't find a diagram showing this part. If you could point me towards what it is or a photo i would appreciate it.

sweet. i need a can of WD anyway. Thought it would be pretty sweet to do but thought id check if there was someshing that COULDNT get wet. Just to be sure. Never had an engine bay this greasy before that warranted a degrease. Better safe than sorry I say. I hope its built up gunk, not huge oil leak. Thanks for the advice BReNt

I can't go past the bread knife. There are so many things it can be used for. Especially popping off door window winders. Been working on my car non stop for a week and I'm always looking for it. Plus its good to spread bog in those hard to reach areas. Got any others?

I'm gonna degrease my engine bay on my stock ke70 4k. Are there any bits i should not get wet and cover? I'm only gonna use a hose not a gurney. don't wanna do it and have to let it dry out for days. And i was reading a thread and someone polished everything up in the engine bay with something. Tyre polish maybe? For the hoses? Also I'm gonna swap out my plugs and leads for freshies to try sort out some acceleration issues. Is there a certain brand of both I should get that wont break the bank, or should some standard repco/supercheap/autobahn jobbies be ok as its just stock. Also is that carbie clean stuff worth it or should i just take my car for a good thrash, or both? Cheers guys your help is always appreciated. :lolcry: Go banana

to dark bro all you will be able to see is headlights, limo tints are for limos, i tried it on my van and ended up driving around with my windows halfway down at night. Even the 20% on my Laser is too dark. Looks cool but totally impractical at night.

its a standard center console bit, like this one, sits under your dash. I can post you this one if you want but prob easier if you can score one out of a car from the wreckers with the mounts as i don't have spare mounts. Plus some one has hacked a big hole for a stereo out of this one and it might be too big for the unit you have.

Interior in. Looks sweet. Dunno about brown seats in a black interior. Tomorrow new plugs, leads, carbie clean to try fix acceleration issues. Plus an engine degrease.

Dude i need a top drivers door hinge and a few other bits and pieces, if i could cruise down and pick at it that would be cool. PM me I'm on the sunny coast. so not too far away. Buy ya a few beers for parts. I only need a few small bits and pieces that id rather not have to f@$k around at a wreckers getting.
