flamingheads Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Is anything happening with this? I'd be pretty interested in on of these beasts. Quote
Killswitch Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 ...bump... Did this die in the arse or is something still happening in the background. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 My old offer of posting you a diff stands Cameron!! Quote
Killswitch Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 (edited) I might just post mine down to the guy in Melbourne, but would be cool if we could organise a group buy to make it cheaper. Even if we sent our stuff in separately but organised it so that there was still a group of 10-20 centers done or something. Or if Cameron gets it sorted out then we can go through him Edited July 17, 2007 by Killswitch Quote
Doogs Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 any idea on a total price, with/without a group buy, as this looks like well worth the effort, good idea ! Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Hi, OK this hasnt died in the ass...lol yet....lol I have been snowed under this year with other commitments and this project has gone to the extreme back burner. I did how ever find springs metal just no diff for a trial but the springs I now can't find...lol So I'm waiting. But Si a mate of mine here is hopefully still donating me a whole running working KE70 diff with 2 rims  for nothing just because he doesn't want it. So hopefully I can collect this in a few weeks. If not I am buying a 4.4:1 rare ratio diff center for my KE15 so I might make a unit for the ke15 and see how it goes. But other wise yeah project is on hold kinda.....but I like the idea for a group buy if the guy will do it might be a faster option..lol Cameron Quote
flat out Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 any updates mate? really keen for one of these i like the idea of clamping it together and welding some flat steel on it and sliding it in and grinding it off Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Hi, Again still this project is on the back turner..lol Currently to busy with study, work, and 2 turbine projects, jet kart, smelter project to cast metal (finally got 80L gas tank for project so WOOT soon to fire up) and other shit so mmm this has been entered into cue at position 156 so umm yeah ill try this one day just not now....But I keep getting told there not worth it LOTS so umm I guess if ur keen there $200 from most places but one test it for us. Corolla1 Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Sorry, but i don't have measurements of it. The plates are pretty thick, and the springs are very tough. The bloke has to use a press to compress the plates and then slide it into the diff. Apparently its a prick of a job and not something that you would attempt in your shed over the weekend. However, if you have mates with metal skills and tools, then its another story. :( Maybe ask him to email you some details, or even fax it. I am flat out this week, and will be away from home for work next week. If nothing has happened after late next week, i may be able to swing past and get the details on it. Not sure how willing he would be in giving away specific measurements and part numbers though. hey mate, i as just wondering if you had any rough dimensions on the plates/springs in this set up?? kangaroosa Posted June 24, 2008 Author Report Posted June 24, 2008 hey mate, i as just wondering if you had any rough dimensions on the plates/springs in this set up?? Not a clue. The diff is for sale so i don't really want to go stripping it down to find out. Quote
Corolla1 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I got a rolla diff. its 4.3 ratio. (U282) I'm interested in this project. my ke35 diff is dismantled on my bench heres a really rough picture with the basic dimensions (I'm waiting for inventor to come so i can put it on there.) I can design the plates and get the springs made, (I go to a tech college studying mechanical engineering) we are gonna make this happen. Quote
Corolla1 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 the only other problem i can think of is, what is stopping the plates from moving slightly into the spider gears?? thats the last thing you want doing 100 km/hr in a rally... heres my project rally car people Quote
Doogs Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Sweet, good to hear this might go somewhere :P If not, I am just gonna pay for a Tayell conversion. Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Why doesnt someone one buy his diff as its for sale, take out the Plates and springs. see how it all works. and get the plates replicated??? make up say 10 copies. sell the buggers on here. if they are a hit. make more. shouldnt be too hard should it? Al it could do is run against the little ones too! Worse case its only gunna make you cut twins if it somehow jams! :P Quote
