July 29, 200719 yr comment_189202 Does anyone know what I would look up in the yellow pages to get something like that done? My door has dropped on the driver side and it has heaps of play (I can lift the door up and down) so was wondering who can do that type of work to fit new and larger pins to my door hinges. Cheers Raven Not fussed if I have to send it off interstate or whatever in a few months time but I'm located in Adelaide. Report
July 29, 200719 yr comment_189217 i know you don't like me, but i looked into this a couple of years ago for my ke70. on the ke70, and I'm gonna guess its the same on your 25(?). basically, in the hinge, there is a brass bush inbetween the pin and the hinge. this is what wears and lets the door sag. i went to harrison early spares which is in this area and it was about 60 + per hinge to buy what i needed, so i decided that i couldnt be bothered. and actually bought some tough bolts, ones with the allen key head in and drilled out the hinge, put a hole through the bolt for the split pin, and never had an issue with floppy doors again. i think i had to trim the head down on one side to clear a bolt to get it to sit flat, but it was definately a cheap alternative Report

July 30, 200719 yr comment_189354 i don't have any of the hinges and the car is now sold to a genious that crashed it into a gutter within a week. but, i ahve some bolts still, so i may be able to grab a hinge and do a little demo. but just imagine, take a bolt, put it in place of the pin. then work out the technicalities Report

Cameron now step out into the real world and find a price on replacement bushings. i said that the brass bush doo daa is what wears, and was also going to cost a fortune to replace. if you know of somewhere to get them cheap id love to know. i never tried genuine....but i don't reckon they would still do them anyway... July 8, 201214 yr comment_614212 Hey guys, I'm having a similar problem with my ke16 (drivers door sag) and came across some pin and bushing kits for a ke20 on ebay, My question is are ke1x and ke20 hinge pins the same (or close enough) to get away with sticking a pair of them in? any help would be appreciated cheers Report

July 10, 201214 yr comment_614446 I thought you could drill them out a little and fit a bigger pin? Report
July 10, 201214 yr comment_614462 Yeah they look cheap, but they would be better than the ones I took out, the bushings were gone and the pin was bent at the moment I'm not sure where to go with it. Report
July 10, 201214 yr comment_614467 They're $17 posted. I reckon they are worth a go. And if they are bigger, as said just drill them out. Report
