towe001 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I read a little bit of that - mostly the first comment and it made me wonder what the Manufacturer to retail store mark-up is like ? Like, at my old job i was pretty surprised with the mark-up in prices on quite a few of the items. It wasn't a set mark-up percentage, ranged anywhere from about 20% - 300%. Like the Lenser P7, was thinking of getting myself one. For work to buy it in as a special order it was about $35 whereas for the customer the sell price was about $110. Kincrome tools was a little different. That little round work light (24 LEDs) K8027 - customer sell price was about $10, work would buy it in at $7. That also included the gst on the items at both ends - work buying the stuff in and then selling it on. How are they going to work the gst on stuff bought off the net ?? Ship the invoice with the item/s so that gst can be figured out. "Oh sorry sir but the reason why there's no invoice is cause its a gift from my aunt, urm, Fosters." Quote

Redwarf Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Don't go the second then. Two is exponentially more work than one. I don't know where my life has gone since number two turned up. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I don't understand how you can have more than 1 kid. I understand only children tend to be spoilt shits and it would be nice for one kid to have brothers/sister etc to play with.... My 15 month old daughter has probably slept 3 weeks of full nights sleep since she was born. Even then they weren't consecutive. It gets old real quick not sleeping through for the night!!! Yesterday I'm driving down the freeway, I smell something which reminds me of baby shit... oh yeah she has done an explosive poo and its come out her nappy, so she's playing with it, rubbing it into the car seat etc. Then starts flinging it onto the adjacent seats in the car. You can't stop on the freeway so I was powerless I just had to keep driving and try and laugh about it. I get to the bottom of the freeway and stop at the in-laws and clean the whole car out. I think to myself today I will remove the car seat, wash the cover and shampoo the seats of the car. I'm driving her again this morning, same smell and same outcome. Shit all through the car again!!! She is now asleep and I now have the whole car to clean out from top to bottom again. If she does it a third time she is definitely NOT getting a sibling. Quote

And thats the problem I do have two. Well, one and a half i guess. The eldest isn't mine and she likes rubbing it in my nose when she comes back from her dads place but she doesn't like it when i rub it back Quote

"Oh sorry sir but the reason why there's no invoice is cause its a gift from my aunt, urm, Fosters." Well I tell you what, gerry's grand plan to tax <1000 buck imports will defintely create jobs.... for CUSTOMS officers. I've bought a number of shipments in from the US (porsche parts mainly) and all over 1000 bucks. Never paid duty on them, I assume because they don't have the time to check every shipment and apply duty to it. One time the package was 3 wakeboards and bindings at well over 2k. No duty. So if they can't check and apply duty to every 1000+ shipment, how in the name of hell are they going to managed tens of thousands more items to be assessed? Import duty isn't as simple as "oh, such and such bought so and so for X dollars, add 10%, send him a bill". There are loads of tax exemptions for imports, things that you can't acquire locally for example. Different rates and so on. Quote

The greatest day is when they get out of nappies. Quote
