David[RL] Posted December 17, 2006 Author Report Posted December 17, 2006 now I've bought another car LOL it's a te72 liftback :) it's imported from USA in 1982.. the car from '80 so I guess it has a very funny diff ratio that is 100% unusable it got a 3T engine with T50 gearbox, the engine doesn't run, and I haven't really checked out what's wrong with it yet, but it seems that it doesn't have compression.. anyway.. 3T engines wasn't a option here in norway so it's very rare.. so I'm thinking about maybe building a 3T-G and bore it to 2liter instead of the 4A-GE turbo.. the car was owned by a 13year old kid that DESTROYED it ;) so I'm just going to remove all the parts that's worth saving then send the car to the wreckers so I get my money back it also had some nice wheels that I'm going to clean up.. does anyone know the name on them?? here's a picture of the ugly car Quote
Medicine_Man Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 They 13" or 14" in Australia here the 13" would come off a KE70/AE71 Corolla CSX, 14" Would come off a Corona.. Quote
Mayorov Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 David, I want to buy driveshaft! And tail lights! Quote
David[RL] Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 sorry but the tail lights are destroyed by the previous owner and the driveshaft I need for myself now I got the enginebay in the ke70 painted.. started to fit all the parts again I did also modify the clutch pedal using te72 pedalbox with ae86 pedal giving me 1-2mm clearance between the brake booster and clutch pump, I had a big problem with the clutch pedal before on my previous setup.. also did reinforce the firewall with a 2mm plate around the clutch pump.. I've also started to sort out the suspension... more info later before the engine goes in I also have to make new brake lines for the front and rear for wilwood adjusting valve and hydraulic handbrake also got new lights Quote
David[RL] Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 currently working on the front suspension.. in a few months this car is going to be running I've mounted the engine now as you can see the todo list is: buy new brake discs and pads for the front reshim the lsd new brake lines from the hydraulic brake to rear axle and on the rear axle itself buy new tires ( advan a048 semi slicks ) make mount for the kevlar bucket seats almost all electrical is going to be rewired make new exhaust shave some weight.. + alot more Quote
David[RL] Posted March 21, 2007 Author Report Posted March 21, 2007 new update.. currently working on the electrical.. Quote
Teddy Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 oh i love your threads. Always good :D Quote
Medicine_Man Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Wow, It has come a long way scince I last looked.. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 I am so fascinated to see how your rally style bodywork pans out, will be fantastic. Well done mate, very keen to see updates. Quote
David[RL] Posted March 26, 2007 Author Report Posted March 26, 2007 I don't think those flares will ever be finished... it's too much work for me to do.. small update: more wiring.. hehe.. still alot left.. also got a new tachometer since my old one stopped working not exactly brand new but who cares? and a picture of the te71 :D Quote
David[RL] Posted April 24, 2007 Author Report Posted April 24, 2007 now I'm 99% finished with the wiring.. only thing left is to connect tachometer, etc but the engine is not 100% straigt.. you can see it on the picture below.. the engine is mounted up perfectly but don't know why... crossmember is correct, engine mounts is also correct.. I know the engine is supposed to leaning 5degrees to the left.. but this is more like 7degrees+++ also I need to use some flares.. I think I'm going to buy some fibreglass flares on ebay that are 7cm wide.. ( stock is 4cm ) as you can see on the picture the wheels are sticking alot out.. and they are mounted without brake discs.. so it will stick out 7mm more so if I buy those 7cm flares I will have under 1cm clearance.. Medicine_Man Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Engine looks like it is sitting fine, Think you are being overly critical myself.. Quote
