Oh-KE Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 Thanks, I'm very happy with it although its not THAT clean and more will be done to really clean it up in the future. Some body work and fresh paint would really make a big difference.. Chillin- I ended up going with 175/65 all round. No clearance issues so far but I haven't really driven it much yet because its out of rego.. Tonight actually I'm going to get my log book for historic registration. It will be good to drive it again with the new rims  Quote
36panvan Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 car is looking great mate, the wheels look real nice on there. had a question for you, what have you got covering your wheel arches in the back?, i have wanted to cover mine a for a while now, cheers, arran Quote
Oh-KE Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 Standard interior, all i did was paint it black. So the wheel arches used to be cream vinyl like the seats. Panel vans must not have this? Maybe you could pick some up from a 4 dr wagon? They don't look very complicated though, so you probably could make some... Got my log book. Car is officially a historic motor vehicle! Registered till 12/02/12 for $131, during which you can only drive the car 90 days and you have to record it in the log before you drive it. So cheap! Now i can save for another two 30+ yr old corollas :P and get them both on historic reg too, thats 6 days a week driving for $393 a year instead of 700 for normal rego haha but then there's the problem where do I put them..... :hmm: Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 What was involved with the historic rego process (checks etc) and what club did you go thru? Quote
Oh-KE Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Hey man, it was a pretty annoying process actually. First become a member of a club. I have family membership with fiat and lancia club of sa thanks to my dad. Maybe try sporting car club sa. Then I had to get the car inspected for originality. Then bought rego. Then had to get log book assigned and away you go... Took me a couple weeks of tracking down the right people to get it all sorted. Cheers Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Ahhk, looking at rebuilding the ute and getting historic rego on it. Quote
Oh-KE Posted March 15, 2011 Author Report Posted March 15, 2011 Put my reverse eye leaf packs back in after adding another leaf, theres now 6, the bolts holding the spring pack together were only just long enough. Also put some fresh bushes there... nice and firm now, just right, and now I can actually put stuff in the back and not hit bump stops. With the old shagged standard height ke30 sedan ones in there, with worn bushes, it was a pretty bad. I was hitting bump stops with the weight of a full tank of fuel! Next thing for the rear end has to be shocks because the ones in there now look like they've been there since 1979.. I also picked up a rebuilt 3k carb off jono1986, cheers mate, its now running sweet as. It had idle set really really high though when I first started which I thought was strange but now I have adjusted it it idles super quiet and smooth. Heres a couple of pics... Quote
carbonboy Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Dude...I had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I saw the photos of this :laff: Imagine the mess I'll make (drooling!) when body work/paint happens? Looks awesome mate! :y: Quote
jono1986 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) Oh yeah Totally forgot that I increased the idle to keep the 5k going....my bad.....Where's the left hand side photo's? Edited March 15, 2011 by jono1986 Quote
Crowie55 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Frothing the latest picture, wheels look awesome cleaned up too, my favourite car on rollaclub by far :y: Quote
Oh-KE Posted March 15, 2011 Author Report Posted March 15, 2011 Haha thanks guys! I'm glad you like it as much as I do  The wheels definitely set it off.. But unfortunately it wont be getting painted just yet. I have started doing a few repairs to the body though.. Most recently was the passenger side rear wheel arch. Another few patches welded in.. Doubtfully the last of it either.. :bash: It came out pretty sweet though. Spray can touch up ftw This was the only process shot i took was already almost done.. Not totally finished but it will do for now.. Quote
greenmac80 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 lovin it dude... looking very clean and respectable... no plans to lower it more i hopes Quote
Oh-KE Posted April 11, 2011 Author Report Posted April 11, 2011 So.. a while back me and the missus decided to do a road trip along the great ocean road to melbourne. We hit the road last monday... Stopping at various landmarks along the way, we saw some amazing coastline and had an awesome time. This drive is a must do! The old beast purred along and did not miss a beat.. The Twelve Apostles was one highlight amongst many countless incredible places. We loved all the little coastal towns along the way.. In melbourne we did heaps of walking around and catching trams etc. as the traffic is horrendous... Can't be bothered uploading heaps of pics (we took like 500 altogether) so heres a couple from Eureka tower at sunset and also at the MCG on Friday night for Collingwood vs Carlton with 88 000 people... Had a great time, saw some cool shit, but by the end of the week I was fair over it and missed Adelaide so we took the inland route home on Saturday. It all went quite quickly really.. Our next destination is hopefully going to be Kangaroo Island! Cheers Chris 1 Quote
Evan G Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 could of given us melbourne boys a heads up, everyone would of been more than keen for another GOR meetup/cruise Quote
