Redwarf Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Blue triangle denotes battery location on a competition car. As people move the battery around the car (to usually the boot) for one reason or another, motorsport officials need to know it's location to disconnect it incase something untoward happens. Not 100% manditory if your battery is in the factory position, but is if you've moved it. Quote

ke70dave Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) yeah i did a cheap spray job a few yrs back. prolly spent 300 in total (borrowed a compressor, bought a gun) i used metalic (so had to buy some clear coat as well), which is rumoured to be "harder" to paint, but the bloke at the paint shop said it was the same....and we didnt find it "hard" to paint. though i have no painted non-metalic, so who knows...maybe it is harder. i think the finish on mine is a bit "flecky" so we prolly did something wrong. but its all metalic blue now...and shiny...and has lasted a few yrs now in the sun. Murd 55 Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 2 pac needs heat to harden. dno who told u it didnt. i am a REAL spray painter. well an apprentice but alot more experience than a backyarder thats for sure. if i was doing a back yard job id use acrylic but its durability is nothing compared to 2pac. but then you SHOULDN'T use 2 pack over acrylic so for old cars its baremetal respray if you want it to last. 2 Quote
TBR Posted September 9, 2010 Author Report Posted September 9, 2010 Yep, I'm Scoobies Dad. Acrylics a "simple" easy to spray & polish paint - Never used 2 pack & don't want to ! Prep work is the major PITA but as with most things you only get out what you put in For the pro's reading this, I'm having a larf re "shrinkage - You know what I mean don't you ;) For those attempting a "back yard" job, 2 things : Humidity & a DAMN GOOD water trap ! :D Quote
